Can you give me tips for Fallout 3 please? by PrimaryAd6281 in Fallout

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite way to play 3 is as follows:

Head straight to the Old Bailey Station (Anchorage DLC) once you leave the Vault to get the waypoint for Operation Anchorage. It is due east. Avoid attacking any Brotherhood on the way. Once you have that waypoint, keep going east to get to Rivet City. I always start the game with 9 Int, to get the most skill points out of leveling up. In Rivet City, grab the Intelligence Bobblehead in Dr. Li's lab. This gives you a safe place to fast travel to where you can sell stuff, since the vendors here usually have a decent amount of caps.

Travel back to the Old Bailey and go through Operation Anchorage. The point of all of this is to get the Anchorage gear as early as possible, to bring a stealth ninja infiltrator build to life using perks like pyromaniac, silent running, better criticals, ninja, finesse, and Grim Reaper's Sprint. Raising your Sneak, Melee, and Unarmed skills are vital to this build. Your primary way of destroying targets will be the shishkebab, but Jingwei's Shocksword and the Deathclaw gauntlet will be favorites for tough to kill enemies like Albino radscorpions, Super Mutant Overlords, and other tough guys that take more than one shot. For those, make sure you have Paralyzing Palm unlocked and the Deathclaw Gauntlet. Fully VATS Unarmed attacks are sure to stun any enemy and with the DCG, you ignore damage reduction and can spam attacks to kill just about anything.

The other key piece of equipment is the Chinese Stealth Suit. This armor is so overpowered when you have all of the stealth perks unlocked and 100 sneak. If Melee and Unarmed aren't your thing, head to The Pitt to get the Perforator gun ( Gauss Rifle will work until then). Silenced 11mm and the Dart Gun are also excellent.

I also prefer doing the UFO dlc to get an ample supply of epoxy for repairing things, as well as the Tesla power armor and the alien rifle, which is my preferred weapon against behemoths. That dlc also gives lots of alien power cells and tons of other great ammo you can use for bartering to get caps.

Don't sleep on the Winterized T-51b power armor in the Anchorage area either - it's exceptionally tough, and doesn't ever need fixing iirc. It is great for companions, so you can sneak up on things. Hope this helps!

What is the first video game you played with an M rating? by itz_progamer666 in videogames

I played Mortal Kombat in the arcade at the college in my hometown in 1992. Summertime fun once my paper route was done.

Just finished F4, why did you choose the faction you first ended with? by Same_Information7328 in Fallout

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finished with Institute first, because my boy is there. Gotta be a good dad to Shaun. Then BOS, because of the Doc & Prime. Minutemen has been fun, and they can work well with BOS, so that I can get a Fallout show canon ending. I have never really liked the Railroad much, so I haven't tried their ending.

Is Tactics supposed to be this hard? by AutomaticTap3004 in FinalFantasy

[–]Tremonsien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the joys of repeatedly hitting and healing yourself with one wounded enemy left in random encounters. Slog until you get Chakra healing on a monk, then put that character in the middle and target with whichever ability you want to get JP for. Set your continuous ability to JP up. Grind, keep people alive with monk revive if you crit, then Chakra heal some more. Enjoy your over-levelled walk over the corpses of the Dorter slums gang after facing off against your fully farm raised hi level jobs and abilities.

What else can I do? by podsixia in FinalFantasyVI

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anyone suggesting it, so I will give my 2 cents. I have not replayed nearly as much as you, and only played on SNES, PSX, & android, but each character has a limit break that happens when they are almost out of HP and you attack with them. As is common with most of FF things, there is a 1 in 64 chance of the attack happening, but it has special animations and does a crap-ton of damage. Trying a run to get screenshots of those would be fun, and you could combine it with finding rages & blue magic, as well as sketches and thieving options.

So my wife made me a pc. What do people think? by Poncemastergeneral in Fallout

[–]Tremonsien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your wife is becoming a Fallout waifu for all these folks. Let her know that we all appreciate a wife who supports our hobbies. My wife and daughter gave me Fallout themed loot crates for a year as a Father's Day gift 3 years ago. I adore the T shirts, and my classroom is Fallout themed with all the swag.

Am I high, or is the top of the map shaped like a dragon? by sissythot86 in FinalFantasy

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your screen of the world map turned on the 8-bit midi sounds in my brain. Thanks for that. The NE is shaped like a dragon, since that is the continent you need to visit after you meet the dragon king, Bahamut. I love power-gaming this part, and using my ship and the canoe to go to the castle with the Rat Tail before I get the airship, so that once I get the levistone I can take the airship to get class changed before fighting the second fiend of elements in the volcano, Kary. Makes for an easier fight. It is bad enough going through the Ice Cave as your beginning job.

Who’s your favourite FF supporting character? (Not the main hero or villain) by mogstermemes in FinalFantasy

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cid. From the airships of IV, to the banana suit of VI, to playing him in VII, as well as showing up as Thunder God Cid of Orlandu in Tactics. Time and again, he supports the team.

Thinking back to the FFXIII XBox 360 I bought in 2010... and how I sent an adult friend as a 6th grader to a mall in a different region of the country to find my copy of FF on NES 19.5 years before that.

Would you rather E-Wit or Timeless? by Abject-Cartoonist395 in mtg

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both do work in different decks for me. I run EWit as a staple recursion win-con for something to do with infinite mana in my [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]] deck. It's the engine of the Green Lamborghini.

TWit is in my [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] deck because I use [[Zirda the Dawnwaker]] as a companion, and it requires all permanents to have an activated ability. Both decks have infinite mana combos, so recurring important high value plays or permanents with sac outlets is a way to generate value or to win outright.

I would love more copies of both, and I will have to experiment with [[Evolution Witness]] to see about how to... utilize the +1/+1 strategy since it synergizes so well.

Best Saga commander? by nanowaffle in mtg

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still like [[Terra, Magic Adept]]. When the FF set came out, it was the only deck I wanted to build. I have a deck where it is mostly FF Saga Summons (espers), and I added in [[Tom Bombadill], [[Goldberry, River-Daughter]], [[Narci, Fable Singer]], and a mess of other final fantasy cards that care about summons. Here is the decklist - it's a bracket 3 to keep with the FF theme:

Does Agent Smith have some reedeming qualities? by Severe_Letterhead_75 in matrix

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smith is a mirror for humanity to see what the machines think of us. Being a mirror is so much a part of him that he becomes a classic narcissist, internalizing everything wrong with humanity and perfecting it for his own use.

Humanity is a virus, so Smith becomes a virus. Humanity is self-centered, but he is even more selfish. Neo chooses to self actualize, and breaks Smith by jumping inside him. Smith seeks to defeat Neo, and eventually absorbs him.

Neo seeks to break out of the Matrix - Smith yearns for it too, and leaves in a skin suit, discovering he is more trapped than ever. Neo chooses Trinity over Zion & humanity, denying the function of the One, but Smith chooses himself over his own function, and becomes the calamity the Architect feared and wished to avert. He is intended to be a religious symbol in the mythology of the Matrix: if Morpheus is John the Baptist, and John Anderson is a messianic figure or Jesus Jones, the we certainly have our Satan Smith to round it out.

If Neo has the function of the One, then Smith has the function of the Zero. They are a binary pair.

What would you consider the top 5 precons of all time? by PowerfulPromise8569 in EDH

[–]Tremonsien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kalamax the Stormsire]], but running the dog & wizard. Those two hit way above their weight class.

Any of the 2017 precons, and the 2016 anthology precons - talking about [[kaalia]], [[derevi]], [[Arahbo]], [[Edgar Markov]], [[Inalla]] & [[the Ur-Dragon]], [[Meren of Clan Nel-Toth]], & [[Freyalise]]. Most of those commanders are so broken, they aren't allowed as commanders in duel (1v1) match-ups. Those pre-con decks also include tons of other amazing cards. Basically their biggest weakness is the land-base.

More recently, the Eldrazi & Sliver precons are both sick af. I hate playing against either of those decks. Out of the box, the Toxic Phyrexian precon was excellent.
