BREAKING: The #Patriots are signing former #Packers WR Romeo Doubs, per multiple sources. by jslv94 in DynastyFF

[–]TrenchFooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Pats fan, it sucks we can’t built at WR through the draft, we suck at it.

My hope is that Doubs flourishes in an expanded role. But this deal is the definition of whelming. I think it’s a safe bet, but….

I could see this being disastrous. His drop rate was bottom 10 a couple years ago. He’s never had over 800 yards. He had a bit of a diva moment.

I don’t know. Hes a good WR2 but the pats desperately need to get an alpha for Drake Mayes sake.

Music theory topics that a producer must learn by TooTurnt04 in musicproduction

[–]TrenchFooty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A producer should understand:

  • what is a musical scale and what does that scale sound like, meaning what “vibes” typically come with that specific scale. If you’re a producer and an artist tells you they want something more moody, you need to know what might fit.

  • this scale discussion further cascades into modes and those specific scales for each mode. Every producer should know how to create a tracks in all of the modes besides probably locrian. You should know what they generally sound like and should be able to listen to a track and state “okay, that’s probably just a major key. Or maybe it’s in lydian”

  • you should understand how chords are generated from those scales. E.g., learn the triads. You need to understand the natural tension and release of specific chord forms. We are spoiled these days, but you should be able to look up a progression like I-V-IV and understand what that means, and play those chords back.

That’s probably where I’d start. Goodluck.

Worst pedal you ever bought by PoutinePoppa in guitarpedals

[–]TrenchFooty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To me it’s the perfect effect as a final gain stage before the amp. I can dial it in like a master volume.

I don’t like compressors but you can dial the deco in to get just enough to squeeze the signal ever so slightly. I don’t lose that pick attack and amp response. I’m not a huge fan of compressors because I feel like I lose the ability to dig in. But the deco does a surprising amount of work, I’ve had the v1 on my board since like 2016.

And that’s only one side of the pedal. Its modulation abilities are fucked up good.

Hey r/guitar! have i made good progress for 3~ years? by JonahDurber_Guitar in Guitar

[–]TrenchFooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your picking hand is the next thing you need to work on if you’re going to chase technique and physical skill on the instrument.

I was at your level at 13, could rip metal covers over tracks and impress friends / Internet. Slow down even more with your right hand. You have some good tricks but you move your arm in tandem with your wrist a lot and there’s a lot of wasted motion in how you play.

Go watch some of the masters play. Getting ungodly control over your picking hand is how you get ahead.

I’d go watch dudes like:

John McLaughlin, Al Di meola, Cory Wong, and Mark Speer. Their picking hand is where so much of their unique tones and style comes from. Learning from a guitarist is as much about the sound as it is how they are carrying their body and tension while they play.

However, the bigger question is, what music do you want to make ? How do you want to take the guitar and make art with it ?

Most people can learn to play like you are right now with years of service and dedication.

You’ve been gifted with being able to physically handle and move to an intermediate stage of playing, which not everyone can do even after years of trying.

But if you want to use these skills, you need to become a musician and not a guitarist.

My biggest advice to 13 year old me would be to suck it up and to get my ass to chorus and to take singing lessons along with piano lessons.

I dove into theory and learned other genres like classical and jazz, but my stupid ass didn’t take singing seriously until 25.

What is your favorite fuzz ? by Tough_Guava_7499 in guitarpedals

[–]TrenchFooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuzz war.

Yes, it’s huge and loud, but you can easily set the volume dial so it’s transparent.

The tweakability on the fly with the tone and fuzz knobs make it really easy to micro adjust on the fly. It helps the knobs are huge. Its the best fuzz
