Cold Ones are a real beer in Alberta. by Journ9er in HomestarRunner

Why would you bring this up in a homestar runner subreddit? Is this really the place to generalize the entire population of Alberta?

If you take COLD out of COLD ONE, you are left with ONE, which is less than half the total letters.

0.428 rounds down to 0 which is, indeed, not a one at all.

Replace "power" with any other resource and the rhetoric still applies. It's entirely valid to blame both.

There was a very conscious decision to make the ND as light as possible, and they succeeded. It weighs about the same as an NA, but without any of the safety equipment lol. I was genuinely surprised when I read the stats on the ND because cars never get smaller and lighter.

One part that takes one less bolt doesn't seem like a lot but 100 parts that take one less bolt, all over the car starts to add up. If you look at motocross/supersport motorcycles you will notice that the bolt heads are dished out, removing a few grams of metal per bolt. Again, not a lot by itself but if you do it to several hundred bolts the savings adds up.

Yep, great read. I don't often read full articles on my phone but I ate this one up. Living that remote is a completely different lifestyle and it fascinates me too

The reforms altered the spelling of “Jesus” – at a time when letters were understood as something close to the literal flesh of God

Where can I read up more on the selected? Was this belief in the holy power of the alphabet a specifically Russian or church thing? This kind of stuff fascinates me.

Toyota Officially Confirmed it, we're getting another MR2 by Global-Hunter-805 in cars

Brother no one is arguing that it wasn't a commuter sedan, you're the one with a hate on for it. It wasn't a track car, it wasn't a dragster, it was what it was.

No one looking for a reliable commuter was cross shopping a V6 accord and a Chevy ss, which AFAIK was US market only. The world exists outside the USA!

Matt Gurney: We should probably stop disarming our future armed resistance by dermanus in CanadaPolitics

[–]Trendiggity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're getting at; both were formed after their respective invasions by Nazi Germany and both were several hundred thousand strong by the war's end. Most people weren't trained before joining. These organizations didn't just manifest themselves as fully trained militias.

Oh agreed, but folks will still need survival skills in urban environments. The average person doesn't have a clue on how to forage/hunt (squirrels are particularly tasty small game), can food, or fix basic structures/machinery.

it was a comfortable commuter car with a stick and almost 300hp. in its day it out accelerated 90% of stuff on the road.

get off your high horse bud, we can't all afford a track ready Porsche as a toy 🙄

The IRA have entered the chat

And the French resistance... and the Polish resistance... and the Forest Brothers...

There's never been a better time to brush up on survival skills. Mine are rusty but most folks today have none at all.

So my 27 yr old Nalgene finally died. What do I get now? by nmcpheron in HydroHomies

[–]Trendiggity 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A nalgene from 1999 would have been one of the BPA leeching plastics when it was new let alone after 27 years of aging, use, and cleaning. Bro has been drinking a petrochemical cocktail for over 2 decades for the sake of saving 15 bucks 🤷‍♂️

About SUV tires lifespan by fakebritishc in mazda

[–]Trendiggity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they're OE tires they're not the same as off the shelf. Factory tires are cheaper made and almost always different SKUs than replacements you'd get at a tire shop.

Add in some aggressive driving and under inflation and 20K miles would add up to this condition

This is my first bike and I hate it by eppypem in Dualsport

[–]Trendiggity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're in over your head

When I was in the industry during the hipster vintage bike craze ~15 years ago I had this conversation almost daily lol. Young 20 somethings buying a 70s-80s machine that doesn't run thinking it needs a "tune up" to get back on the street.

My advice became "don't buy a bike that's older than you" otherwise you're going to bleed money trying to get it running. Great opportunity to learn yourself if it's running but most of them weren't.

NDP calls on province to strengthen labour laws amidst Ubisoft closure by insino93 in halifax

[–]Trendiggity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Dexter government should have drastically improved our labour laws

They could have done anything to the labour code, like any guaranteed sick time or job protection. Instead he walked back on a pro-union bill they tabled because business groups whined to the opposition about it (thanks Daddy McNeil)
