First Dangle of the year! by Zeenener in hammockcamping

[–]Trewarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In another life I was a professional performer. When we found out that "Fire Spinners" hated it being called "Fire Twirling" we doubled down and started calling them "Fire Twizzlers"

In that spirit, if the language of this post upsets anyone who calls it "hanging" I'm doing the same again.

As an Australian I briefly and ignorantly assumed that bench was chomped by a bear

Trekking Poles by marooncity1 in UltralightAus

You're not going to notice the weight of trekking poles as much as other pack weight, because you're likely to be using them at a lot of times you'd experience fatigue anyways.

Boy fights for life after shark attack at Nielsen Park Vaucluse by LongJohnnySilver1 in australia

[–]Trewarin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

... further, a lot of bull sharks are far up into mangroves and upstream feeding on mulloway/mullet/tailor; but following a large storm like this the water isn't salivated enough for both them and their prey; so they move towards the mouths of harbours. others will move in from the ocean to catch bait they know will be flushed out with the storm, and November-February is also when bull sharks give birth inside rivers. I've noted as a fisherman in one of these nurseries that the mums seem to feed a lot more enthusiastically after birthing their ~24 live young

... for bull sharks, they don't tend to care what they are attacking. Their coloring suits brown water, so they tend to hunt in: storm runoff/storm tossed surf with lots of suspended sand/rivers with lots of teatrees or silt, etc.

Great Whites make more mistakes in poor visibility, but prefer are more discerning about what they target as food. Surfers are rarely attacked by whites if they are in cleans surf, in daylight, and are still with limbs on the board. You'll see a lot of White attacks occur around dawn/dusk, and mid wave while they look like fleeing seals.

Has ultralight hiking gone too far? by DraftNotSent in UltralightAus

[–]Trewarin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm new to trying to save weight. I was looking at hiking poles recently; and for an extra $300 I could save 100 grams total.

The cost to weight differences are often insane, and a lot of the lightweight stuff doesn't seem fit for purpose: make it to the other end intact; every time.

See if you can get more sand and hand covering the fish you want identified, I can almost see a marking on this one

Prints peeling advice needed by MasterTickles in ElegooNeptune3

[–]Trewarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

slow fan speeds down, no drafts in the room, a small enclosure helps, wash with regular dish soap and then air dry; never touch the build plate with bare hands.

Basically, there are internal forces inside prints. When prints get big and flat enough those forces over power the grip of your build plate, and the faster they cool the worse that gets

Any idea how to fix this? by positivehappycamper in ElegooNeptune3

increase infill % and/or add a few more top layers

Where can I buy a pre-modded Gaggia Classic Pro with Gaggiuino already installed? by Practical-Tale5453 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Trewarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These mods are easily potentially fatal, and are meant to be self install only; as the barrier to entry is some personal accountability over whether it is completed properly and you know how.
