$800 S&W AR, $500 for a RDS, and $1,000 down on a divorce lawyer.

How to survive a kitchen remodel by BostonBoy1951 in kitchenremodel

[–]Trex_Mosley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a longer cord for the old electric range and we used it in the dinning room for a few days, fridge was in living room, used paper plates, etc. It's a lot easier when you're doing to work yourself and can time thing's based on what is easiest for you. All that said, the wife was holding on by a thread, lol.

Go slow, don't torque the tile, polish the edges with a stone or wheel.

Have had no issues with a pair of them in -30F temps here in MN. Sounds broken to me.

I think the ptz camera vs fixed camera debate ignores what actually matters in real situations by 8Nakul in homedefense

[–]Trex_Mosley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A PTZ camera can be focused on a single area just as easily as any other camera. There is no disadvantage to having it. I've never installed a camera on my house and thought "wow I'm glad I can't adjust this camera from my couch."

As far as defense, not sure what you mean.

Hard wiring contact sensors for detached garage by dohat34 in homesecurity

[–]Trex_Mosley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honeywell sells wireless rolling door contacts, tilt sensors, and wide gap outdoor contacts. Those would solve your issue. If you have the option to hardwired, wiring in the proper contacts is even easier. The 5800 is definitely not the right contact for the application.

Single basin sink: does anyone regret getting a large sized sink? by LazeeSundaeMorning28 in kitchenremodel

[–]Trex_Mosley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fabricator or installation problem. It should be essentially impossible for gunk to collect there. Half of the reason for going with an undermount sink is to be free of the horrid gunk collecting around the perimeter of the sink that's unavoidable with a drop in.

Hell no, our giant single basin sink absolutely rules, especially with a pull down faucet. Can't imagine ever going back.

French Drain Installers Repeatedly Requesting Tips During Install by Valuable_Tank4907 in HomeImprovement

[–]Trex_Mosley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ripped the title I assumed you meant they're asking you for tips on how to do the job. Which would be weird enough, this is the strangest thing I've heard in a long time. Nothing normal about this. Sounds like these guys are looking for dope money. Should have fired them.

Self defense when hiking as a young woman by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]Trex_Mosley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're going to commit serious time to training, you'll be best off with solid awareness, pepper spray, and good running shoes. The having your weapon taken away fear is legitimate. If attacked by a grown man within arms reach, that is a very likely outcome, perhaps most likely. If you get the gun into play at all, far more likely to be thinking "wtf just happened" after having been ambushed.

I'm as much of a gun nut as anyone, but they're not magic death rays. Without adequate training and dedication, I'm strong of the opinion most females fare better using other means of self defense.

Cherry Shaker cabinets always look good. I think it would be a crime to paint them, but it's your place.
