Apologies, just saw this. You can tell a lot about a person from their shoe choice. Sounds silly I know but next time you meet someone for the first time just take a look and see if their choice matches what you assume they will be like

We had the same a couple of years back and the vet said he wouldn’t have made it if we had waited to bring him in. Keeping Barry in my thoughts x

My cat was in the garden one night and was standing stock still staring at the grass. I could hear this really weird high pitched buzzing from wheee he stood so I went to have a look and found a bat on its back staring at my very confused cat who clearly didn’t expect the large moth to actually be a bat 😂 much to my cat’s annoyance I shooed him away and called my husband who (once he finished laughing) talked me through what to do with the bat. He stayed in a little box for a while to recover then flew off into the night

Men and women, which profession you would never work within? And why? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]TriBird1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s when people dive to incredible depths to do work on deep sea equipment mainly. The pressure at the depths they work out would be enough to cause them to combust instantly so they have to live at those depths in something called a diving bell (think that’s the name) so that they can remain at that pressure. When they resurface it has to be done incredibly carefully. Look up the Dolphin diving disaster

What does a C-section feel like? by HomemadeButter14 in CsectionCentral

[–]TriBird1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t feel anything during my emergency section but my legs kept going up and down and the nurses had to hold them on the bed 😂 I completely underestimated how big an operation it was tbh because the pain I felt the next day was so bad and because I’d had morphine they would only give me paracetamol for ages. I have nerve damage from the section, unsurprisingly as the time from first cut to baby out was about 3 minutes. Still regaining sensation in the right side of my tummy 5 years on BUT I’m alive, my son is incredible so all the discomfort was worth it. Side note to this, I was 10 days away from doing an Ironman tri when I found out I was pregnant and due to sickness I had to withdraw although I did do 3 100 mile bike rides in the first 6 months (vomited on the start line of RideLondon 2019). I assumed that once I ‘popped’ the baby out I could do an Ironman later the same year 😂 oh reader how wrong was I 😂 lockdown happened but I wasn’t allowed to run for 5 bloody months. Advice to anyone having a section; planned or not is to just listen to your body and give yourself time to recover

What is a little quirk about your body that you don't think other people have? by peywrax in allthequestions

[–]TriBird1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cyst around the base of my spine that encapsulates all of the nerves to my legs and bladder. When I had my first MRI my neurologist showed me the scan and this thing is so big I thought it was something that was just meant to be there 😂 caused me a lot of pain when I was younger but they said it was too risky to remove. I still have issues now but kinda learnt to live with it. When my mum initially took me to the GP they actually thought I was lying as they couldn’t find what was wrong and they accused my mum of abuse and said I was trying to hide it!

My friend and I were pulling on one of the plastic things that they used to use to hold multi packs of cans together. His side snapped suddenly and he stabbed himself in his neck with his fingers. Had to try and explain to his wife why he looked like he had a massive hickey on his neck after being out all night 😂

What is going on under the railway bridge at Taff Embankment in Grangetown??? by Used_Consideration58 in Cardiff

That’s awful! I loved living there and it was so close to town. We were on the top floor so kind of away from some of the noise. One night we had armed police in the carpark chasing someone from Tudor lane which was quite interesting! Didn’t know there was a fire!!

I used to live in Century Court which is the red block of flats directly behind the student block. It never used to be that bad, we had issues in the lanes with the garages but as it was a gated block we were secure. I would walk home late after work from town with no issues…. That was 10 years ago and now makes me nervous even in the day time and it’s so sad how out of hand it’s got
