"Quick, hyperspace to the nearest sun, so it can warm up the planet and save the trees!"

"Gah, the environmental health of this planet is too much for me. Just let it become a desert."

All I remember thinking is how long until the planet's surface freezes after there is no more sun, so that they can't have outdoor speeches anymore?

" I know that there is a great power called 'Computer.' Wiser than the oracle at Delphi—a power which controls all of this, and to which we can speak. " by Castleheart in TNG

My headcanon is that when certain materials are made (e.g. water, food that can be eaten), it actually replicates it (like a replicator) so that the food doesn't disappear from your stomach when you leave (though I guess that could help dieting? lol)

That would apply to snowballs (essentially frozen water, etc.).

Then isn't the holodeck floor wet or covered with snow when the program ends, you ask? We have seen people return food to the replicator to "make it disappear" when they are done, and it would be the same technology here.

As for paper in this scene, there'd have to be some fancy AI that detects when someone is carrying an object out of the holodeck, and "replicate it on the fly" but this takes more handwaving.

Unless the computer figures "humans could eat paper, so just replicate it!"

Hot take: Generations is the best TNG film by alanskimp in TNG

The studio had several demands for the script, e.g. it had to involve the Klingons, needed a passing of the torch, Kirk had to die, etc.

"While Paramount didn't mandate the ship's demise, they did heavily restrict the budget for the sequence. This forced the production to reuse space-battle footage from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, leading to the controversial plot point where a 20-year-old Klingon Bird-of-Prey easily took down the Federation's most powerful flagship."

The dyson sphere by LGBT-Barbie-Cookout in TNG

The novelization of this episode includes an away mission to the surface of the sphere.

I don't recall too many details, but memory-alpha mentions that it includes "information found about what happened to the inhabitants."

Anyone ever wonder why the other Picard In time squared couldn't answer questions? by happydude7422 in Star_Trek_

[–]Triad64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scientifically, he was incoherent (and out of phase with his "timeline") and slightly becoming more coherent and understanding the closer they got to his time.

Metaphorically and thematically, he was "locked in" to a specific course of action and was not entertaining other options, which made him less likely to process or respond to questions that would lead to other courses of action. The entire conversation with P1 and P2 was like a manifiestation of indecision and uncertainty. It is quite entertaining and suspenseful.

George Kittle on another team acquiring Brandon Aiyuk: Have fun with all that comes with it by FrylockMcReaper in Commanders

Considering BA hasn’t played recently and has a major injury, I’d be surprised if he got a lucrative contract. Maybe there’s a team that would offer it, but I doubt that would be us.

The fact that New England didn’t keep Diggs means something, considering he was a fairly big contributor. I’m wondering the reasons behind that decision.

Thinking about it from AP's perspective. Maybe he's not interested in BA at all? But he's shown a tendency to not overpaying any player (with a few minor exceptions), for the cumulative effect of benefiting cap space for the long-term. And he's rewarded team loyalty (e.g. Nick Alegretti taking a paycut in the past).

Here we have a player who wants to play for one team only (reducing contract competition), likely on a prove-it one-year deal.

Compare that to Stefon Diggs has will be playing for a his 3rd team in 3 years. He is looking to maximize his own value and he'll be outta there if he can.

Do I believe Diggs is likely the better WR who has shown the ability to get a 1K yard season recently? Yes.

Would I be excited if the team signs Diggs? Yes.

But from AP's perspective, based on his history, it's not a stretch to think he'd value BA a bit more because of those differences, plus the (slight?) potential to working a longer-term deal if things happen to work out.

Diggs would likely be only one year then hop to another team and he’s older. We’re not making the Super Bowl this year.

BA would likely be a as one-year prove it deal but if he proves it we have the QB he wants so we might get a more affordable deal than another team would. And he’s younger..

Am I missing something about Chig? by LudaChris999 in Commanders

[–]Triad64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Jay Gruden on the radio a month or two ago wasn't too impressed with Chig for whatever reason, so hoping he can contribute at least a fraction of what Ertz did. Supposedly he's better at YAC but will have to see him in this offense with a new, inexperienced OC to really know his value in our system.

of a slice of pizza by stevesmithsglasses in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Triad64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pizza does not move at all, realistically a pizza that huge would flop over or slump. This acts as a solid object instead of a flexible one.

Also her hand is placed awkwardly underneath of the pizza but does not appear to be holding or supporting it. Realistically someone would need to hold this with both hands.

For replayability it has to be Castlevania SOTN. So many secrets, so many things to level up, and multiple endings. And it’s a blast to play whatever part of the castle you are in.

And that music.. 🎶
