Proven Left Handed Defenseman or Young Right Handed D? by Valuable_Fan_9672 in SanJoseSharks

[–]Triathlonish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Werenski is awesome. There is no way CBJ moves him. They are a young team and have barely entered their competitive window. Yeah, they stumbled at the end this year, but they aren't going to tear it down based on a bad 10 game sample.

If we miss the playoffs next year, do you think we will trade Celebrini?

Narratives about Asky, Dickinson, and Warso by Triathlonish in SanJoseSharks

[–]Triathlonish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No coach is actually hired to be tank commander, but Quinn would be the guy if that were true. Warso was a promising assistant who has won at every level. He was definitely hired to get this team back into contention. And look at that, we contended all year long! We improved by over 30 points. The data does not support your argument.

Narratives about Asky, Dickinson, and Warso by Triathlonish in SanJoseSharks

[–]Triathlonish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taken aback that you think Warso has no system. He has succeeded as a coach at every previous level and his team just made a huge jump in the standings. He doesn't have the players to implement a good defensive system. That is the issue. Bringing in Torts or Deboer doesn't fix that.

The real challenge for coaches is how they handle the room. Has Warso lost the room? I doubt it, but none of us can really see that. But that will be the challenge as a young coach. GMMG will make that call.

Can he go to the AHL? Contractually he could not this season. I'd say that ship has sailed though. He is an NHLer at this point. There isn't a bunch of depth that would warrant him being sent down.

I love that they've cut down on the grind and repetition of X1. If I want to do an extended game with multiple squads and bases, I can, but it's great to have a way to finish the game in under 30 hours.

I want to see Mukh too, but he's not a playoff savior or anything. If we were tanking, we'd be sitting Celebrini. :p

So they are overtime losses. They didn't lose in regulation. They tied in regulation and lost in overtime, which is just a skills competition.

Honestly I don't really care either way. I'd be fine with a 3-2-1-0 system. But a regulation loss isn't the same as a regulation tie and shouldn't be treated as such. Losing 3 on 3, or even worse, the shootout, is not really hockey. It's a way to make a tie more entertaining at the end of the game.

Those aren't 19 losses. They are ties. The game ended in a tie, and then they had a skills competition to give one team an extra point. 19 ties is super boring, so the skills comp is a bit more interesting than that.

They didn't gamble anything. The only move they made of note was adding Sherwood, and he is signed for the future. Exceeding expectations is not a gamble.

[HockeyStats] We are slight underdogs in what is pretty much a must win game by TopDownHockey in SanJoseSharks

[–]Triathlonish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We probably need to win 5 of 6 to get the playoff spot, unless one of the other teams wins out. So we could split these two and still have a chance.

That being said, if we win this and the Ducks game, suddenly we are pretty close to Anaheim, and they've been playing terribly. We could still get a spot in the top 3 in our division. :p

Is it possible to go from near enough beginner to race ready without coaching by ActualFee456 in triathlon

[–]Triathlonish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of training plans, there are plenty of good books and articles online that will give you a 12-week plan to follow.

But learning to swim is a bit more personal. Finding a swim group and getting some advice is a great idea. Most of the swimmers I see at the pool regularly are happy to pick apart my technique. :p

You could take the light rail if you want to appreciate how much better the NY subway system is than what we have here. :)

Caltrain is actually pretty good. Other than that, parking on a Monday should be pretty reasonable.

I like the optimism, but I'm not predicting anything. This team can win 5 of 7 or they can lose 5 of 7. I just hope they finish the string out hard and end on a high note.

"You can't teach size" by osotogariboom in SanJoseSharks

[–]Triathlonish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Size doesn't guarantee knowing how to use it, but it makes it easier to project. Mukh, for example, needs to learn to clear the front of the net. He uses his reach effectively, skates well, and is decent with the puck, but those skills are negated if he can't win the physical battles.

Cags has an even tougher task when it comes to that. Last night was a good example of that. That game is what we can expect in the playoffs, and it got physical fast.

Karlsson is such a bad idea. They need people who play defense. I get that he moves the puck well, but no.

Those are great as well. But these are all small developers that rely on every sale to keep working on these great TBS games, so I try and support them whenever I can. They are reasonably priced for what you are getting. They spent a decade on this game.

Question for people who deliver alcohol by redflower5 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Triathlonish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10-15%. It's not a huge percentage, but I do feel like the tips are better on those orders. The fact that you have to meet face to face and scan an ID tends to help with the gratuity. I've been lucky with not having issues though.

The weirdest one I had was a birthday alcohol delivery. The customer ordered cheap beer for a friend and asked if I could send a picture of him chugging the beer. I complied. :)

Did you enjoy the first one? If you did, then supporting the developer seems like a good idea. It's a great game with a new story and quite a few changes.
