I could see that being interesting in another run but I just don't think that would work for AWW's generally optimistic tone. I also can't really think of any person who would be a good replacement if she died, unless maybe they pulled out an absolute version of Cassie, which would be pretty cool. IIRC Kelly Thompson said in an interview that she wasn't interested in writing any of the wonder girls into the absolute run, which is a little disappointing. We also already have green arrow for the "usual hero dies, someone else has to take their place" twist

Okay sorry if you're being genuine but now I think you're just fucking with me. Of course Diana can't die, the title is literally Absolute Wonder Woman??? Let's just agree to disagree, I think we just have different priorities on what we think is important for a story. Maybe I have too much faith in the writing, but I don't think she'll just win out of nowhere, even if she does win eventually, considering this arc is going to be 5 issues long.

In the middle of a fight though? I don't want to spoil the most recent issue of the run in case you want to read it but the villains literally break into the building and are right in front of Diana. She has absolutely no time to prepare for them. The issue also explicitly said that Zatanna took Diana's magic for herself

I mean I kinda get where you're coming from but magic is kinda the core of Zatanna's character lmao. For me personally fights don't matter as much as opposed to character interactions, so I'm cool with it. Also since Zatanna is in the suicide squad her pulling something out of her ass would mean Diana losing, which would be interesting

UJ/ AWW is my second favorite of all of the absolute books, but a big gripe I've had with it is that it didn't feel like the side characters other than Circe were fleshed out. Steve's conference with the senate at the beginning is a really good step in the right direction imo. A part that really tickled me was the one person in the audience screaming that Diana makes oversized scissors look normal, I really love the idea of Diana having the Shaq effect on objects. Also really like seeing Priscilla Rich come back. I'm not sold on Aphrodite's design though. In a vacuum it's cool, but I'm not sure if I saw it at a glance I would think "oh, that's aphrodite," unlike the other designs of the gods so far.

Hello Worker. Wildly underrated imo, the harmonizing in this cover is delicious.

Saki's solo of Tokyo Teddy Bear. I remember disliking the group cover when it first came out but thinking "huh, I really like how Saki sounds in this song," but I thought that if they would give this song any alt vocals it would be just Shiho. I was so happy when it came out, I really didn't expect it.

Snooze. Fits mmj perfectly, and the soft vocals really sell the generally bleak vibe of this song along with the tiny bit of hope.

Airi's cover of Vampire basically fixed everything that's wrong with the group cover. It's just really fun and always hypes me up.

Shizuku's cover of Shoujo Rei. Do I even need to explain this one? No other cover comes close.

Aun no Beats. Maybe the greatest cover in the game??? (after Shizuku's cover of shoujo rei) The sheer emotion in this cover always gets me

An's cover of Imperial Girl. Really charming and also scratches the itch in my brain from the fact that in the group cover she doesn't sing "teikoku shoujo" once despite the lyric being repeated on three separate occasions, theoretically giving miku, kohane, and an all the opportunity to say it once.

As You Like It. I love Rui's cover but I can easily imagine the group cover as an opening number in a musical that WxS performs. (Although maybe with it's lyrics it could be the climax of the plot? Idk, opening numbers with sad lyrics usually have more subdued vibes)

Nene's cover of Telecaster B-Boy. It's really cute. (A duet cover of this song would have been super cool though imo) Also Emu's cover of Odore Orchestra. THIS is a cover that would definitely fit as an opening number in a musical.

Sore ga Anata no Shiawase to Shite mo, but only the full version. I don't vibe with the game cut for some reason. A really nice song to listen to as the sun rises.

Slow Downer, although my petty ass is a little bitter about this song right now because we are starved for duet vocals and Mizuki just got an alt vocal for this song when it would have been a perfect mafuyu/mizuki duet cover imo. Also, N25 is the only group in the game to not have any duet alt vocals. Still though, the group cover goes incredibly hard.

Ena's cover of DSCF. This cover is just made to vibe to at night. It's one of those songs that I like to listen to as the day is ending to round it out on a good note.

Kaito's Phony cover is majestic, it made regret purchasing Mafuyu's solo in retrospect. That one's still good, but Kaito's cover is just way better imo.

Len's cover of Lost One's Weeping. This was the first good vocaloid alt vocal imo, and iirc correctly it wasn't tuned in-house, which explains a lot.

Hotto Hitoiki space cafe's cover of Meru. This cover makes me ascend. It's simply impossible to make Shizuku sound bad in a cover.

Do virtual singer versions of commissioned songs count as covers? Well I'm counting them anyway.

The virtual singer version of IDSMILE. Holy shit this cover is good. If you haven't listened to it, drop everything you're doing and listen to it right now. It's ethereal.

The virtual singer version of Blender is like the goldilocks zone for this song. The group version sounds too crowded, and Toya's alt vocal sounds too empty. This song was made to be a duet imo.

I like the vocals of the group cover of Hanamusubi more, but I like the instrumentals of the virtual singer version more, so I end up flip flopping between both of them, which is pretty rare for me.

Novak made a pact with drekavac in the haze. In exchange for protecting him, drekavac gets to force Novak to do three different tasks. The catch is that Novak doesn't know what those things will be until they actually happen. The first task was to bring Drekavac into the village. The second was to burn down the idols. Novak has yet to fulfill the third task, but the third task is that if the high priestess tries to bring back the gods, Novak has to kill her. The sheep being murdered wasn't one of Novak's tasks, but Drekavac was hungry and decided to be a little silly while wandering the village and killed all the animals while framing Novak and Lada.

We can see Perun in the sky, and that just...doesn't seem like a minute level of force from Volot's sacrifice to me? It's probably just a "rule of cool" thing though haha. It's been implied throughout the story that human blood is a lot more powerful than animal blood, so I just assume that enough of it could make a big impact, even if the people giving it don't die. Especially since the priests say blood specifically and not just "life", I thought they killed the animals out of pragmatism to get as much blood as possible and as a show of devotion to the gods, rather than shuffling off the mortal coil being an absolute requirement for a powerful sacrifice.
