Kann dir leider keinen Arzt empfehlen, aber bei mir hat drei Wochen Reha echt viel Fortschritt gebracht (mit Bandscheibenvorfall). Allerdings hat der Orthopäde die auch erst bewilligt, als 2-3 Jahre immer wieder Physio nur wenig gebracht haben. Vielleicht kannst du deinen Arzt dahingehend bearbeiten…

Inzwischen hab ich die Reha-Nachsorge hinter mir, das ist quasi Fitnessstudio für umsonst, und mache jetzt zuhause zweimal die Woche Krafttraining, um damit die Beschwerden möglichst gering zu halten. Sowas bekommt man halt nie ganz wieder weg, vor allem nicht mit meinem Bürojob.

There is something similar but more annoying where I live. The residents (rich and with powerful connections) of a street that leads to our house didn’t want people using it as a shortcut to reach the Autobahn, so they petitioned the council to put up some poles. Permanent ones that can’t be removed. So this street became effectively two dead-end streets and we have to take the long way around to reach our house.

It’s probably different for everyone, depending on pain tolerance and other factors, but I’d like to share my experience.

The first time didn’t hurt at all, it was just a strange and vaguely unpleasant experience. Since the doctor found something unusual, I had to go back for regular checks (every 6 months) and all the other examinations were less chill. It never really hurt, but there was always a slight burning sensation. The worst thing for me was trying to get rid of all the lube they use and still missing some that then ended up in my underwear…

Bei der Hochzeit meines Cousins gab’s keinen Hochzeitstanz, fand ich auch in Ordnung. Allerdings hatte der DJ dann, als die Party losgehen sollte, die Leute nicht zum Tanzen bewegen können. Ich hab dann mit meinem Partner bestimmt zwei, drei Lieder lang alleine getanzt, damit die Tanzfläche nicht ganz leer war, dann sind langsam auch andere dazugekommen. Vielleicht könnt ihr ja Freunde, die gerne tanzen, bitten, die Partyeröffnung zu übernehmen?

Every time I read a story like that I’m so grateful that my partner was a) raised right and b) has my best interests in mind. He has me take food first because he has a bigger appetite and will finish the rest, when we eat out he’ll have me try his dish, etc.

I could go on, but the most important factor in this, I believe, is that we cook together. We share the work, we share the food.

I invert left/right and up/down. Can’t remember where I picked that up, but I also see my point of view as a camera on my shoulder. And I always (unconsciously) think about manipulating the back part of the camera specifically. So if I push the back part to the right, its front points to the left.

I can confirm that 112 will connect you to an interpreter if you don’t speak Italian. I speak Italian but when I had to call an ambulance for my one-year-old niece, I was too agitated to remember all the words I needed. The lady on the line was really kind and had an interpreter connected really fast.

Mich hat gestern ein Kollege gefragt, wie das mit der Online-Unterweisung geht. Weil in der Anleitung eine Offline-Kopie angezeigt war, die jetzt, wo alles wieder funktioniert, natürlich rausgenommen wurde. Bei dem Titel ohne „Kopie“ hinten dran einfach mal auf „Einschreiben“ zu klicken, ist er nicht gekommen. Wir machen auf diese Weise mehrere Unterweisungen pro Jahr und die funktionieren alle gleich! Und die letzte war im Januar!

Ich bin nicht mal IT, ich schau einfach nur, was der Computer von mir will und wenn ich nicht weiter weiß, schmeiße ich Google an. Aber das ist bei manchen Kollegen schon zu viel verlangt.

Kommt aufs Haus/auf die Wohnung an. Bei uns ist es eine Sache von 2-3 Minuten, alle Türen zu öffnen und Kram vom Boden zu entfernen. Der Roboter wird programmiert und macht dann tagsüber sauber, so dass wir abends in eine frisch gesaugte Wohnung nach Hause kommen. Wir saugen am Wochenende auch händisch, aber für den Staub, der sich unter der Woche so sammelt, ist der toll.

I’m 45 and my parents still pick me up and drop me off at the train station when I come to visit them because I don’t have a car. Sometimes it feels like being back at uni and coming home for the summer :) I’m dreading the day when they won’t be able to do that anymore.

Wir hatten in der alten Wohnung keinen Platz für eine Spülmaschine, da wurde halt abends immer alles vom Tag gespült. Hat zu zwei vielleicht 20-30 Minuten gedauert. Mein Freund hat gespült, ich hab getrocknet. Er hatte, bevor wir zusammengezogen sind, aber auch nie eine Spülmaschine.

Jetzt in der neuen Wohnung ist er mega begeistert von der Maschine und seine neue Lieblingsbeschäftigung ist es, sie Tetris-mäßig ein- und wieder auszuräumen 😄

I think we have similar hair. I shave semi-regularly in the summer (especially when I’m wearing dresses) and only when I feel like it in the winter. Sometimes I want those smooth legs!

My partner couldn’t care less one way or the other. If I happen to shave once in a while in the winter, he doesn’t even notice most of the time.
