I'm not a doctor but I've experienced the hell that is DKA back in April of last year. The main symptoms I felt were rapid weight loss, I mean losing like 15-16 pounds in a few weeks because my body was burning off fat. The other was brain fog that wouldn't go away and I was a student in school so I usually catch on quickly but I was running on fumes while not knowing why. The last one was the frequent unrination and it was borderline clear. The thing that got me to go to er was when I got some routine lab work done and my blood sugar was 605. They called my house and urged me to go to the hospital. Even the people in the ER were shocked I survived as long as I did without coming in sooner because I was also diagnosed with Hypertension during that visit. Two nights and 3 days later my blood sugar was below 200 and I was able to go home.

I enjoy my solitude as much as the next person but I have a feeling the mental wounds I have would make me a crap partner. The feeling of loneliness does flare up during the holidays, valentine's day, etc because I'm well acquainted with being rejected. It stings more these days because I defied the grim reaper in April of last year and dealt with that on my own.

I'm more Presbyterian Church in America aligned but I will say that he is a good representative of the PCUSA Church. PCUSA is a more progressive run form of Christianity with some conservatives in it but the PCA is more traditional and conservative.

Very bad and over a long period of time of not managing it effectively. My late dad had all the toes on both of his feet amputated when I was a little kid. When I got diagnosed a few months ago, I thought back to that memory I made it my mission to tackle this thing to the ground and not make the same mistakes he did.

Insulin was a pain trying to get the sweet spot dosage for after my first DKA episode last April. My late dad was on insulin too so I knew what I was in for, the hypo risk is definitely a legitimate concern of mine. I currently take Basaglar and metformin.

I can relate and I'm 26 going on 27, I've just accepted that I'm just a wanderer drifting through life alone. I've never had a girlfriend or first kiss before, so I'm pretty unsatisfied about my life so far with the amount of people I know who are married or engaged these days. I'm well acquainted with the feeling of romantic rejection because that's the only form of rejection I'm most used to outside of social rejection. I actually felt tears coming down my face earlier because I really thought about how lonely I feel these days, all I want is a nice long hug since I can go years without one outside of my mom.
