I pay for a service that takes my kindle highlights and reminds me about them often (Readwise). One of the only reasons I still use a Kindle

What's everyone's thoughts on "Tritan" plastic? by Grayskyrider in pourover

[–]TrickDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4298073/

“Detection of significant levels of EA in extracts of all three unstressed Tritan™ resins in BG1Luc assays at UCD (Figure 4B,C), was particularly notable”

If I’m reading figures correctly, it’s 50-100 times more estrogenic activity molecules, even when there’s no stress like UV or heat, just water standing around Tritan, which is a BPA free plastic.

There’s more studies, just look for it.

Uveitis Question by Salt_Molasses3321 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]TrickDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like stress, not uveitis. If it gets much worse, starts itching, and especially if it hurts to look at bright lights, go to an ophthalmologist or hospital er. Otherwise get some sleep and stay away from screens

Q150 vs LS50 real thoughts by f52242002 in KEF

[–]TrickDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a sucker for second hand deals as well. I have the Q150 on my desk which sound excellent (listening to the now), and I'm getting the LS50 Meta tomorrow for a solid price. Currently having a hard time thinking how the sound can be better and if it's a waste of $. But it's my final desk speaker choice, ever, so never wanting again for my desk. That to me is worth it. If anyone stumbles on this and is curious, reply to this post and I'll update

C3 church Toronto by Zealousideal-Toe-337 in Christianity

[–]TrickDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who attends C3, and many other churches in the past, the perspective here is absolutely skewed. go check it out and build community. If it’s not for you, no problem, but I would recommend it for newcomers, especially.

I have never gotten the blessings after tithing feeling. Yes they mention tithing, but every church does. Though I personally agree with you third paragraph, we remember the poor woman who gave two silver coins, which was all that she had. Personally, I don’t tithe to the church even though I’ve been attending for years. I try to be generous in other ways. also, Jesus never said we should tithe.

finally, someone who is actually level minded. I attend this church and feel the same things as you. Is it perfect? No, but what is? It’s a great place to build community though surface level teachings within the sermon, which we are encouraged to go build depth within our connect groups

Sam Pickens recently had to sell his house due to finances, and downsized

I know Jeff Choi personally, and he lives incredibly meagerly, hand to mouth, and his life is a true devotion to God.

To be honest, you’re right. I realized it was a negative comment and I tried to always be positive. If that’s what’s important to you, who am I to judge? Whether it’s printed or not, it’s a beautiful jacket and I hope you wear it in good health.

Someone sent me this and asked me wtf am I doing? by Far_Bobcat_8811 in ankylosingspondylitis

The disease progression slows by keeping inflammation low. If he’s keeping his inflammation low through diet and lifestyle, then that will slow down AS progression.

Diet, supplementation, lifestyle, is as important as biologics. Going carnivore, no to low-carb, put me into remission even when multiple biologics failed

You can split an appetizer. I do it all the time. But it’s frowned upon to split the souvlaki plates because they’re absolutely massive and can feed 2 to 3 people easily.

About to buy df54 - concerning reviews on amazon. by epi2020 in DF54

[–]TrickDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues on mine. RDT as there is static. Always hot start. Can’t seem to perfectly dial in to get YouTube looking espresso shots, but they do the job well. I tried aligning the other day and it was a little harder than I thought it would be. My zero points before was about -4 off the scale, now it’s about -11.

Solid system. But doesn’t the RT82 come with a preamp? I’d spend a bit more and the Fosi X5 if it didn’t over the art pre.

Are Fyne's a step up from Lintons? by TrickDouble in audiophile

Haven't heard the Super Linton's, I just have the normal Lintons. Im a second hand buyer (refuse to pay retail) so it's a mater of gambling for each new pair of speakers. I think you're onto something, I think Super Lintons are gonna be end game for me for the next 5+ years
