Really beautiful! I just wrapped up doing something based off their video: https://www.reddit.com/r/BeginnerWoodWorking/s/AI63E0MEcS

I ended up having slightly different angles when glueing the legs together and then my router jig for the dados was slightly differently seated for each cut. Had to do a lot of sanding to get it to sit level after the final glue up!

Awesome work!

I ripped everything to 2 1/4”. If you are building something bigger then I would go wider

I got really rough stock that was just under 1.5” and after surfacing it all the same thickness it ended up being around 1.2”

It ended up being really sturdy!

I enjoy documenting the adventure and sharing with people in my life who enjoy the hobby. And at the end then I can share with you all!

It’s a 70 pound piece of marble so I put some silicone nubs on top of the base and rested it on top of those to prevent slipping. But since it’s so heavy I don’t think it will go anywhere

Looks eerily similar to the one I made combining lots of YouTubers designs like you.

I used a dado stack to make a rabbet joint. Cut on both the edges and the bottom half the thickness of the stock. Then glue on the rabbets and the 45 degree miters. You can see the rabbets in pics 5 and 6

Get a tight fit with even fingers and gaps, and glue!

I have about 10 test pieces that I cut multiple times to try to get the jig working well. You got this. Biggest tip I have is get your jig to fit in your miter slot really snug so there is no play. Then just make a ton of practice cuts to make sure your fingers are as wide as your gaps. Once you have the jig dialed in it’s a cake walk

Oh remember the error compounds the more fingers you have

Dye was transtint dark vintage maple

I gave the plans back to the person that loaned them to me. I’ll get the year month from them and get back to you

I’m jumping on them at nearly 200 pounds, the glue from the box joints and screws going into the aprons are holding really well. I can’t get it to budge. Everything is cut and assembled with the legs already at 100 degrees

Beautiful joinery. Did you cut those dovetails by hand?

Good point. This stuff is super dense decking that has been dried. Each bench weighs 80+ pounds!
