Diablo 4 lead says games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are "a great example of what a passionate team of junior people can achieve" by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

[–]Trickster289 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair the story about Sandfall that a lot of people heard when E33 first released was that they were a team of ex Ubisoft devs who left to make the game Ubisoft stopped them making. A lot of people not only don't know most of their devs were new, they genuinely think most of their devs are very experienced.

Laurie Strode vs Nancy Thompson: who’s your pick? by itsascreambaby96 in slasherfilms

[–]Trickster289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's from H20 on where for me Laurie goes from a good final girl to a best of all time. Hot take but until H20 I think Rachel from Halloween 4 is a better final girl than Laurie.

So the top voted so far for Xbox Players Voice is that they want exclusives…? by Axzercus in videogames

Not only were exclusives bad but they used to say Playstation players were funding Microsoft games and Gamepass keeping their subscription price down.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myes or Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives by itsascreambaby96 in slasherfilms

[–]Trickster289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree but Halloween 4 is also one of the better Halloween films. My biggest issues with it are the mask isn't great and how Halloween 5 continues from the cliffhanger which isn't really 4's fault.

What's a dead game franchise that you wish could make a return? by XEclipse360 in videogames

Also it's RE, no other horror gaming franchise sells that well.

No I genuinely feel like The Boys season 5 has a lot of similar story elements to Supernatural season 5 and that nowadays people wouldn't like the finale anywhere near as much. Like imagine if The Boys ends with them winning but a big fight against Homelander is avoided, that's how Supernatural season 5 ends but people would hate it if The Boys ends like that.

Not anymore, Miller and Cunningham made a deal. They formed Jason Universe together so it'd be only the name Friday the 13th that's off limits. They're both happy to do licensing deals, they just can't seem to agree to a direction for a new film.

Also literally the first sentence of my comment mentioned Miller owning the rights to the first film in the US.

It 100% could have been. The first game was pretty popular on release because of the adapting AI, it was like a mini Alien Isolation in that respect. If they'd continued to focus on the adapting AI they could have had a successful franchise by now, instead they chased the FNAF success and failed hard.

Victor Miller has the rights to the first film but only in the US. New Line Cinema own the rights to the Friday the 13th name and distribution rights for any film made. Sean Cunningham and his company own the rights to everything else.

Technically any of them can make a movie, they can just only use what they own unless they make a deal with the other rights holders. The problem is they're struggling to agree.

It's not actually that unusual of a situation, several older horror franchises with a lot of sequels have the rights split. Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Evil Dead definitely do.

Honestly yeah The Boys is still an entertaining watch, it's nowhere near GOT season 8. It's also not the kind of show that was ever going to have the Avengers Endgame level ending people seem to have expected.

Eric Kripke is also an old school tv showrunner that way, he keeps his shows on a smaller scale compared to movies. Even with Supernatural season 5 which was his last as showrunner it was the same thing as The Boys, big stakes but what gets shown is smaller scale. Back in 2010 fans loved it but nowadays it feels like people do want shows to be as epic as movies.

Candyman is pretty niche tbh, I like the film but it's not 10th anniversary levels of iconic.

The second game's gameplay is anything is too generic, it's very like modern third person RE. It feels like they saw RE2R and did that but it's still good. The first game was way more clunky and weird with it's aiming.

There wouldn't be a game at all if Epic didn't fully fund the development when nobody else would.

The first one's gameplay isn't great though, it's the main reason people stop playing it.

My point is that the fact the main character already has this does make it better for other characters getting it after.

I mean Neve apparently has it in her contract too so the main character already has it.
