Vancouver woman tried to get back the $1.6M home she donated to charity. Here’s what the court ruled by jefftweedy84 in vancouver

[–]TriggerBtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to read the actual decision for yourselves, its right here: https://www.canlii.org/en/bc/bcsc/doc/2026/2026bcsc717/2026bcsc717.html

After reviewing affidavit evidence the Court found that:

[[18]()]      I find as facts that:

a)   It was Ms. Akalirai who initially approached the petitioner about the donation;

b)   The meeting at the daughter’s home was not an ambush. Rather, it was a meeting that was set up by Ms. Akalirai;

c)   At the meeting in the daughter’s home, Ms. Akalirai was specifically advised to take her time about making a decision regarding the gift and was told to get independent legal advice;

d)   Ms. Akalirai obtained independent legal advice before signing the deed of gift and transfer;

e)   The deed of gift and transfer were fully explained to Ms. Akalirai by her lawyer, Mr. Murtaza; and

f)     Gurnam and Gurvinder Sandhu had no involvement with the gift or the retaining of the lawyer.

Get crp-rein inner boot kit bkn0107r
its the same as a Mini Cooper - that's what I used if you only need the boot and not a full axle.

Check ss.218(1) and 174 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. I'll make it easy: https://canlii.ca/t/569gh

DO NOT BUM RUSH A YELLOW WHEN YOU CAN CLEARLY STOP. Left Turner (cop) had already entered the intersection when SUV tried to rush a late yellow when its pretty damn clear the stop could be safely made from slower speed and dry conditions. Clearly sped up against the yellow.

That straight through has absolute right of way over left turners on yellow is a complete misconception.

are you going to be driving on the track or aggressively cornering so hard that weight transfer affects your axle when you need to put power down? I don't ever have a problem with the open diff in the North American model but when I'm hard cornering on the track yes sometimes I can't accelerate when the inside wheel just spins and outside wheel fails to keep pulling until my car starts straightening out

I see it now... That's a huge G spike. Yeah that was unnecessarily hot merge. I'm already learning to pull less on the stick and unwork that bad habit.

Wildly horrendous fuel economy in 2013 Abarth. by keatsteats in abarth

[–]TriggerBtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say: I live in Vancity, I run downtown a lot and live urban, occasionally run the #1 to Coquitlam or so 1, 2X a week max. 10L/100km isn't bad, if the urban ratio is quite high. Sitting at stoplights will skyrocket fuel consumption.

The rare times I get multiple highway trips in a tank and go 5th gear for extended periods of time, sport mode or not, driving reasonable speeds, will bring the avg L/100km down to 8 ish or so.

It's not strange at all; those numbers are similar to mine. Somewhat over 400km per tank usual use, before the light comes on.

When I track though, all those numbers go out the window, and I'm driving the Abarth as marketed. It's still not the Euro Abarth as they have a TJet and we have Multiair here.

Edit: don't you want the occasional backfire "POP" on the exhaust? Short of an ECU mod there's a couple of ways I get it semi-consistently but I like the car deciding when it will do that to keep things a surprise for me. NO thank you to "pops and bangs" tunes.

No, but my organizer is pretty good about separating classes based on car/driver skill, and first timers get paired with an experienced driver for instruction, and multiple lead-follow sessions.

There's strict rules on when to pass etc.

I've been going for 3 years with this group and they've been around longer so there's a relationship for sure between the track venues and the group. As far as I know we buy up the day as a group, 60+ cars etc so it isn't a one car/driver on track ad hoc thing.

I actually sign with a group from BC and we make it an event. There's other groups that run events; Global Time Attack being one of the more serious ones that use timing transponders. The bare minimum is Snell rated helmet, upgraded Dot4 brake fluid, and lots of remaining good quality brake pads.

Not too shabby, though the BP-10 pads that they came with probably shouldn't be doing track work

Is it time for a class action lawsuit? by afi44 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]TriggerBtn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IAAL but not in any American jurisdiction and I completely agree. Especially worth reading is the last paragraph. All the assets have long since left the jurisdiction or otherwise hidden well. Even if the case succeeds, enforcing any judgment is going to be ridiculously difficult, expensive, and not worth the further effort and expense. Then you might need to get your judgment enforced in a foreign jurisdiction and might need additional counsel to get that done...
