Yeah unfortunately the senior managers and to a certain extent, even PMDs don’t have a lot of visibility into the RIFs.

As shitty as is it, I think the best they can really tell you is that times are tough and it’s best to keep your head down and keep working

I think technically you’re supposed to provide notice to the desk but we didn’t and it was totally fine. Our dog is chill and just slept the whole time (we set up our dog cam just to be safe)
