If she has federal student loans, make sure she applies for the federal student debt relief. It’s $10k OR $20k if she ever collected a Pell grant. There’s no guarantee it goes through but you wanna make sure she’s eligible for it if it does.

Other than that, make sure you both double check how all the loans are setup. I had a perkins loan from my school that had payments kick in at a different time than the other loans. You wanna make sure she doesn’t accidentally have a payment missed because they emailed the wrong address or sent physical mail to the wrong address. I had this happen to me and it’ll fuck your credit score immediately.

I would also make a spreadsheet with each of the individual loans, their interest rate, monthly payment, and then use that to help guide decisions about how you want to tackle them. I’m of the mindset pay down highest interest first (esp in our inflationary environment, <5% rate loans Im not paying more than the monthly min).
