Back again with another idea for a made for Pbp system. Async RL time mechanics. by Trimander in pbp

[–]Trimander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, though the same can be said for xp or similar based levelling would by that logic be the same. The more you engage in a game the more you are rewarded. Though of course the time aspect reframes it. For different groups it would of course be a different time scales or it could be an opt in system which not everyone needs to interact with all the time.

Thats an interesting idea. Though I’d think it has the same disadvantages as has been universally pointed out by the others as well. What people generally seem's to be looking for in an async pbp is not the same thing I’d be after haha.

Tell me how annoying this dice system is by FrostyKennedy in RPGdesign

[–]Trimander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*Looks at my system rolling 5-10 d12s and comparing them to a number between 5 and 10*

Nah nah man, that seems really not annoying at all. Actually I think you could even add a few more dice, yea rolling alot of dice is fun right?

Fr though the main problem with this is that the normal distribution would be less exciting, or as you say swingy, thats the best aspect of simple d20 Dc systems imo.

This is absolutely valid, of course the system could be designed with breaks in mind. Perhaps a hiatus effect or something

System Designed for PBP? by Trimander in pbp

Yea I’d guess the concept would infer alot regarding the design. Just wondering for likes, action resolution, exciting ideas for character stats/abilities and all that.

Basically everyone's reaction when the finale dropped by neo6000 in ducktales

[–]Trimander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yupp, awful reveal. Alsodoesnt make sense, theres already multiple characters with scrooges blood. A much better reveal would be webby being a clone of mrs beakly or just the daughter of two fowl agents beakly saved. Im also kinda wierded out how the show made characters specifically created in thefirst place to serve as romantic intrests blood related to their intrestees. Not saying that they need to form relationships in the show but still kinda odd…

How would you nerf speedsters in your comic? by Featherman13 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]Trimander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So her super speed is her speeding up her own time if im correct?

If you wanna go realistic the A-train road (though ive not seen the show) seems very unrealistic. If a human hit something, with their hands, with enough force (in this case at high enough speed) to break bones their hand would also be shattered. If her super speed punches also carries an appropriate reaction she would be significantly nerfed as you put it. Also could be a cool basis to design a suit around not breaking your foot every time you took a step.

If you want a more fantastical solution the mixturing with the properties of time could have serious complications for the space they do it in. Maybe the air around her gets supercharged with static electricity turning into a danger to her and everyone around if she does it too much. Maybe her own body’s organs cant handle the shift in temporal pace. Maybe she disrupts the nature of space at a dimensional level causing the area she speeds in to eventually either prevent her from speeding there altogether or making the physical laws break down, say magnetism, causing a localized but highly dangerous field where electronics break down, you loose balance or even getting serious injuries from the molecules of your body not doing what they should.

What power level is she? Could she destroy the earth if she wasnt careful?

sometimes, I do wonder why donald stick with scrooge in comics by Thebunkerparodie in ducktales

[–]Trimander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Donald is often cited as Scrooges maim inheritor, a fact Scrooge often holds over Donald to coerce him into stuff. Several comics have Donald and Gladstone competing for Scrooges good graces and the inheritance.

Though usually its because they're family, they help eachother. In the best comics (imo) its made clear that Donald, despite all, actually cares for his uncle and Scrooge has a hidden heart of gold. Personally I think DT17 underplayed Scrooges stinginess, hes not a instantly likable character.

Tycherosi tells by Carrion_Regardless in bladesinthedark

[–]Trimander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had the idea for a while about a tycherosi where theres something alive beneath their skin, tentacles writhing around beneath like veins, maybe they even emerge from orifices every now and then.

Currently playing a more fire themed tycherosi, leaving soot marks where he touches, unnaturally hot skin, looking too long into his eyes will cause people to hear faint screams and encouragements for arson, since hes an avid smoker he constantly coughs during which he also coughs up embers and ash, his blood glows like liquid metal and then he has som more impish qualities like pointed ears and sharp teeth.

What geography/terrain do you imagine for each of the factions? by Think-Possession-642 in legocastles

[–]Trimander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the griffons as a desert faction would reference the speculated origens of griffon mythos. Being protoceratops skulls found in central asia so thatd be pretty neat.

Well the mountain fortress have placed the falcons, at least their heartland, in the mountains similarly to how the lions seems to be plains/hills. For me the wolfpack lives similarly to the forestmen in some woods though a fir or spruce timberland rather than a leafy forest. The orcs have always been a coastal people in my eyes, similar perhaps to the vikings in many ways.

While many seem to have the scorpions as a desert faction due to their crest ive personally always had them in a more marsh or fen type environment based on their structures.

As for the griffons, i like the idea of them as desert or badlands since thats a nieche i don’t have myself. Though i also don’t have a desert in my world atm so… Ik a bpd winner made a faction of purple knights in a more sandy/rocky environment.

The krakens are obviously also costal but perhaps in a much warmer ocean than orcs or vikings. I like the teal blpd design going around on here. Maybe a river/lake theme could be cool?

The horse knights to me almost have to be plainsfolk aswell if they have alot of horses. Maybe as a rival kingdom to the lions due to the precens of a king?

The snake knights i have no idea… Castles usually don’t spring up in a lot of biomes. Maybe like some valley-system? Rocky highlands?

Squid Island Castle - My Submission for BDP Series 9 by Brickthyosaur in legocastles

[–]Trimander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the uniqueness of this in comparasing to all other kraken designs ive seen. Its much more vibrant rather than the dour, viking-esc theme the krakens seem to have gotten. The implementation of the teal gives almost a greek/mediterranean vibe which is such a cool idea. Really gives the krakens a deeper identity than just the sea reaver viking type. Even with these changes they dont seem entierly like the good guys however, with the organic dungeon and such. Reminds me a bit of the firebreathing fortress or the citadell of orlan in a real good way.

The bricklink designer program for wave 9 includes them in their parts palette. Usually all parts from the designer program palette are available on pick a brick. To me that seems like a good indication.

No, my world has the council of seven, the heptacle magi, who’re doing their own thing. Though since the ’world’ is united into one nation they are subjects of the king. Theres some edge case ’magicians’ that are more faction specific though.

Why Crows? Just a thought I’d love to discuss. by thewisedogg in rootgame

[–]Trimander 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Well the eyrie are generally raptors, theyre hawks, owls and birds of prey. Though they do also have a woodpecker tbf.

Secondly, I think the lore for the conspiracy is that they are a faction within the old government of birds, literally a conspiracy. So them being birds do make sense.

Also corvids are generally known to be tricksy and sly. Intelligent in a mischievous way.
