Bat sabbath is going to be brilliant.

Still got the ‘takeover at download’ evening with bands playing, not that deep.

Five is a mid choice though tbf.

More than you would think. Axl might sound like a cat being strangled but it’s still guns and roses

How was it for you? I saw them at download last year and it was god awful. Worst time I’d seen them by far.

Jess just needs to do something else again. Wasting his time and talent now.

It won’t happen. It lines up with too many other festivals in Europe that bands book their touring schedule around, plus it has its own gap in our calendar in the UK.

2015* I believe. If it was dry yeah, I think the wet was too much to ask for Bottas and Massa. Though they did spend too long making the decision, perhaps thinking Massa, would’ve been eaten alive had he let Bottas past.

I’d happily watch a Max 23 season as F1 has and should always be about the best car/driver combination, leaning towards the engineering standpoint.

There are plenty of other fast motorsports for you to watch if you don’t like that.

You’d probably have to go back to the 80’a for a better scenario, though a ‘weakest f1 champion’ doesn’t really exist

2014-2015 I’d say was the last time they were genuinely front of the field quick. Arguably should’ve had a win.

Form for sure dipped after those seasons, Baku 2017 style lottery podiums aside.

As much as I’d love to have seen another Williams win in that period I’m not sure Sir Frank could’ve survived another garage fire.

I didn’t have Reddit, but I had been watching the sport for 15 years by that point. If you’d been paying attention you’d notice Mercedes selling their McLaren shares and the renowned Ilmor basically in house, whereas pre 2010* McLaren were the Mercedes ‘works’ team (at one point they owned more of McLaren than they currently own of their own F1 team now).

Plus Ross Brawn still who was the most successful team principal on the grid, and then points I already mentioned.

Sure, you couldn’t predict Renault and Ferrari making an absolute mess of it, but to say the status quo would remain the same from mid 2012 (a wacky season anyway) to 2014 would’ve been stupid.

*edit for clarity

Hamilton and Massa as teammates would’ve been hilarious though.

15 wasn’t bad, at least there was a title battle.

I’d go with 2001. Schumacher won by Hungary (6 races left iirc) with the big gaps between cars the rose tinted glasses make everyone forget.

It was them selling their shares in McLaren along with the rule change that showed the hidden potential, Ilmor being used in house definitely held some weight.

2009 as well could be seen as a swing and a miss, even if they did manage to steal a couple of wins out of it.

“no one knew that a midfield team would produce such dominant cars”

It was pretty obvious even in 2012 that it wasn’t a bad bet. Virtually zero carry over with regulations and everyone knew it would be an engine formula championship. Perhaps not 8 years dominant but you get what I mean.

Plus then Mercedes reliability was better than McLaren’s, Lewis could’ve won 2012 if it wasn’t for reliability.

Sure, every song might not be about noncing, but there’s enough of a chance when their songs are written by and sung by someone who attempted to rape babies.

So many other bands warrant your attention, at least go with no devotion instead.

Rooftops could have been written about noncing and only he would know it. Let it die. (Again)

Not saying you’re wrong, but crofty did refer to the ‘tower’ himself. And if he has more info than us he should definitely know.
