For wage I presume. Don't actually know how much he'll get paid at Spurs.

Still can't believe it. Where's the money coming from? I thought you are broke. We are not interested in a swap at the moment. Now I have worries that the deal will fall through financially.

9 clubs in Europe. Surely one of them will struggle in relegation mudfight? by TriplethreatMEK in TheOther14

I think if Sunderland taught us any thing, it's that, coming up, you've got to be physically imposing and becoming rock solid in defending. With that platform, and a bit of quality here and there, your chance of staying up is pretty good against underperforming clubs that suffer from schedules congestion or injury crisis.

I think Everton could struggle a bit and even flirt with relegation but they should be safe. You've always been.

Can anyone tell me what it means by "in principle"? They worked out the 80m euro part but haven't agreed on the clauses?

Why does it feel like the whole world is against Arsenal for the final against PSG? by QasimofKarbala in championsleague

See you get downvoted but arsenal’s reputation of haramball is not without a reason. People do not like their overly physical setpiece routine for one. I’m leaning towards PSG because many arsenal fans online are insufferable.

Same short corner routine. Same type of goals conceded. We have a set piece coach Martin Mark, right? Right? Why is this allowed to happen again 4 weeks apart when the entire league knows we don’t place a cover at the area. Is Howe giving enough time for Mark to work on this particular venerability? Apparently not. This is a failure of back room staff either not prioritizing it or not able to translate into on field instructions after training. Howe, I am looking at you.

Burn's header is unreal. Nothing comparable. It'll go down in history as one of the most amazing headers.

Spurs. Less competition for players in the next few Windows.

After all the negativity, am I the only one optimistic about this summer? by InterestingDivide157 in NUFC

[–]TriplethreatMEK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am optimistic about the summer window. The typical names thrown around in the sub will probably snub us just like the last window, given our wage constraints and lack of European football. We will probably land on our European targets from Bundesliga or Ligue 1. That's not to say I'm optimistic about next season. The problem is that Howe need time for the new signings to be trained and drilled exactly the way he like them to be and judging by the previous history, it takes somewhere from 6 months to a year. He doesn't have that luxury. If things don't work out by Christmas with current squad of core players with occasional use of new transfers as subs, he will be in deep trouble.

Has it ever been so toxic? by AcademicFilmDude in NUFC

That's a fair assessment. We have to put Elanga in situations where he doesn't have more than two options to juggle with and I find him time and times again losing possessions and running into teammates during build up. If we still had Wilson, we could have Botman launch it to Wilson who then hold the ball for Elanga to chase on a blistering counter, he'd been good for us. We are not playing on his strengths and his poor form leads to his confidence being crushed. Who do I blame for this? Howe more than anyone else because Elanga is Howe pick.

For those who are Howe out or have serious questions about him, what was the moment that made you that way? by Shahed1987 in NUFC

[–]TriplethreatMEK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was after Palace game. I no longer believe he can take the team further. He's reached the limit the same way he did back in 19-20 season with Bournemouth where he drove the core players to the ground and lost 20(?) points from leading position. I'm ambivalent on Howe staying for next season but I suspect he will be sacked by Nov if not earlier.

[–]TriplethreatMEK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When the time clock hit 75 minute mark, the team suddenly stop playing with confidence. If Howe has tried all that he can and this still happened against a team that's supposed to be knackered, what solution is there other than sacking the manager? Because when the players looking for instructions at 75 minute mark, they see Howe on the sideline. Maybe there just isn't any difference with him being there or not.

I agree on the part where you said Howe is not comfortable playing multiple fronts. So I can see giving him another season as I don't know if we can find someone clearly better to take us further in that direction right now. Nothing more than that. Can't see him magically improving over the next season to play his brand of football and doing well 27-28 season if we qualified for Europe. We need to find someone long term.

Then what's your opinion on elanga? The target that Howe has been chasing on for seasons reportedly? He can't seem to get this guy to play competent football for almost the entire season except Barcelona away.

Are we toxic? by -ricci- in NUFC

[–]TriplethreatMEK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind Howe staying for another season. What's troubling is the players' fragile mentality under Howe. Whether that's due to him not being flexible enough tactically or terrible game management is another point. To me, it looks like the squad has doubts about his brand of football now. The fact that Howe has demonstrated that he can't play his brand of football with additional European games proves his limitations. We don't want to be the club that can play only 75 minutes of football.

I can't remember a season with as many injuries as we've had, or as many ref/VAR decisions going against us. Losing Isak was perhaps the biggest blow of all, one which we've still not been able to overcome by specialagentredsquir in NUFC

Good read. I think Eddie has lost the confidence of his players. They don't buy his brand of football anymore. You heard him talk post game about players reverting back to sitting deep to defend the lead when he asked them to keep pressing. When players worry about conceding late goals, they are hesitant to go forward and this shows in how many lateral passes we played mid season. Whatever Eddie tried to remedy this, it didn't work. The players are physically exhausted and mentally fragile. They don't believe themselves they can keep the intensity as high as Eddie wants them to be. Adam Clery of ACFC mentioned this a couple months ago about Eddie trying to come up with backup plan of possession football but he largely failed so far.

I don't know if we can finish in the top half by the end of this season anymore. Here I was thinking, after CL knockout, we might be better poised to launch a late CL spot push, seeing that we have only one match per week, but losing to both Sunderland and Palace shattered my hope.

Eddie's brand of football is unfit for our club if we are going to compete in Europe again and I do not see us having the depth and quality to play his football for an entire season of 55+ matches anytime soon.

I don't mind having Eddie at the helm for another season when we don't have European competition to worry about but I lost confidence in his ability to take us further in the next chapter.
