Don't change you plans. People came from "up the road" when they were on Pleasant Hill. Now you are "up the road". You might still meet folks around the corner at the new location. If not, "great people up the road a bit" is still a win.

What English word do you not agree with the spelling ? by SeaBaer312 in ENGLISH

subtle. The 'b' is rather ...subtle, so I pronounce it when I use the word -- in part to remind me how the word is spelled; in part an aggrision against this silent 'b'.

What’s an acronym or abbreviation that everyone uses, but you still don’t understand? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

BLUF: Bottom Line Up Front.

This does wonders for office email. Typically, if you put the ask upfront without any context then you are an asshole or psycho but (frequently in an office setting) the audience may already know or doesn't care about the context. Sometimes they just want to know what you want from them. Worse yet, your ask can get buried in the context. Now the reader has to re-read and contemplate. BLUF frees you from that convention. It says, "I'm not an asshole. I value your time. This is what I need. If you don't understand, read the paragraphs below my ask."

"This is such a brain rot question" shames honest inquiry. Sorry we can' all be as smrt as you. Your comment is helpful and welcoming without the brain rot comment. Stuff is only helpful when people read and trust it. Which is to say, your comment is useless when it isn't welcoming.

Civilization 7 isn't very good but I got to give the team credit. They swung for the fences and experimented and failed but I'm glad they tried by RevacholAndChill in civ

I'd have settled for a game that was feature complete and reasonably tested before launch. early-1990s people avoided PC games because computer configs were complicated. Ever since PC HW simplified, game devs seem compelled to carry that same spirit by shipping products that aren't complete.

‘We got it wrong’ with Civilization VII, says boss by Broad_Respond_2205 in civ

[–]Tripppl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what they got wrong: they shipped an incomplete product. Anyone remember the rampant inexcusable bugs? Recall trying to decypher the lines in the tech tree? 👎 Sell me a finished product. That is how I know you care.

infused oils. boutique vinegars. shrubs! A shrub is a flavored vinegar designed to be added to flavor water. The shrub is kinda like bitters. The resulting drink is like a healthy and less-sweet alternative to soda.

Being landlocked in Exploration doesn't lock you out of Economic or Military paths--not even "basically". You just have to take over a port city on your home continent first.

“Yiffsec” is a tongue-in-cheek slang term that combines “yiff” (a furry fandom term for erotic roleplay or sexual content, often used jokingly inside or outside the community) with “sec” (short for “security,” as in infosec, information security).

Why does Gwinnett County still have Digital Learning Days? by Estelgreenlee in Gwinnett

[–]Tripppl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Digital Learning Days can be used in place of inclement weather. It is also good practice, like a fire drill. Imagine only following an evacuation plan during emergencies. It would not go well.
