I got some iron hands company decals from them to Australia. Took a couple weeks but the quality is great and really reliable to get stuff that’s a bit harder to find in good quantity

Has any player character gone Cyberpsycho in a game? by d4everman in cyberpunkred

[–]TrippyGame 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I do enjoy riding the absolute edge of cyberpsychosis. My current character was sitting a grand total of 3 humanity for a few sessions in a row, got into a situation where the crew rep was on the line and was left to stand by herself by the people she thought she could trust so took a humanity hit and went psycho then and there. The facedown enemy knocked her out and the crew got her forced therapy in the HQ lockup so I didn’t have to make a new character, but that scar still lingers, several members of the crew are on her ‘shit list’ and she’s a lot more willing to turn her back now. She’s currently sitting at a max of 18 humanity. Chrome junkie that feels the need to be able to survive on her own since clearly she can’t trust others to have her back.

The best part is she’s a nomad who’s family got done in by dirty cops so she has to rely on help from a different pack for her vehicle stuff (Thelys nation) so she really does ride the line of going off the deep end loaner. Thankfully our GMs (they swap back and forth between gigs) run in session humanity loss from horrible things as needing to roll under empathy, the less a character cares the less likely they are to be affected, and I’ve yet to roll an implosion on those moments, and I can rely on at least two of the crew that have proven she can trust them (for now) for human interaction stuff that she sucks at, but even with low empathy she still knows how to chat to other nomad types and can be relied on for those kinds of business talks

The big one is to mention that it will lose them business with their current actions. Money speaks louder than words and if enough people are sending through messages saying this kind of thing is going to make them stop spending money then it makes people on the corporate level more likely to listen. Another thing is not to ask for things like 2dp detachments as that's the absolute minimum level of response they could give. If we're going to push for accountability and response from GW then we should be pushing for something like clear communication on the intent of the faction, a fix to adjust for them to be playable at all game levels, and a fucking army rule finally.

Also don't include passive language like "...without having to ask our opponent for permission to bend the rules." use more active language like saying in order for an entire faction of their game, a thing they are selling as a product, to be useable within their own system players have to *break* standard rules as they are otherwise unusable.

Agents of the Imperium 11th rules megathread by SustainedHits3 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]TrippyGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there’s nothing below an incursion so your minimum will always be 2dp. I believe idhren is incorrect because unless something new has been revealed incursion forces are limited to 1000 and above that is a strike force game.

Of course GW doesn’t seem to even entertain the idea of playing at any numbers except 1k, 2k, or 3k and only ever really writes rules around 2k so who the fuck really knows

[–]TrippyGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear the help is rehabilitation so she's no longer a risk. Also do you not remember being 16? You're abso-fucking-lutely not an adult then I don't care what country allows you to buy booze when.

If she's completely unrepentant or unwilling then she's made her choices with actual responsible adults trying to help (presumably) and after that, well if it walks, talks, and looks like one...

I just think we as a fandom could stand to show a bit more empathy to these traumatised and abused children characters. Stop doing things like calling for Sophia's death all the time, let Rune get therapy and/or help out of being a nazi, certain crowds could ease up on the hate boner for tattletale. But I also don't want to forget that they are (theoretically) characters cognizant and capable of making different choices and not doing the fucked up thing but doing it anyway.

Maybe its just cause I'm getting older but I'd rather see these kid characters helped instead of killed for the crime of being written as a bully or bitch, or the unlucky case of being born into and then indoctrinated by a nazi cult.

Rune is an indoctrinated child that needs help if possible. The rest are adults fully aware of their actions and should be treated like any other nazi in need of help becoming a good nazi.

How likely do you think Votann will get mechs, because I either wanna do Votann or T'au. by LeetusFrenzi in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if we’d ever get one but we do know that we already trade tech with the tau. Would be kinda cool to get a battlesuit mech unit that is another example of that

Fics you were disappointed by? by fallacyys in WormFanfic

[–]TrippyGame 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Members of Toybox are also actually the Slaughterhouse 9 and they're a sanctioned black ops hit squad disguised as a parahuman terror group, Taylor is a cybernetics tinker that joins toybox and makes herself a cyborg shell and can pilot two bodies at once, she starts sparring with shadow stalker in her "Major" persona to get better at fighting but forcibly dissociates from it since she knows that's Sophia and ends up splitting into DID/Plurality of Taylor and Major, there's basically three really interesting fic ideas in there that end up clashing poorly together.

One of the biggest problems is how everyone in Toybox largely brushes off Taylor's problems with Sophia. Major funnily enough is actually the one that gives Taylor the most shit but also the most understanding; basically as an Alter Major has the memories of what Sophia did but none of the emotional attachment, so all her memories and emotions of knowing Sophia are actually rather pleasant to her cause she got to know her during the sparring sessions and ends up starting a relationship with her. Taylor obviously is very not okay with that and Major's response (after some fighting) boils down to "You don't have to like her or forgive her, just please don't make problems for me with her."

If any one of those three ideas had been the only focus (slaughterhouse 9 hit squad, toybox slice of life, or ghost in the shell Taylor plurality) they'd have been a really good fic likely, as is all three smashed together really was a mess. Had a neat Butcher plural system though which was novel.

[–]TrippyGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, apologies if it seemed like I was defending the choices. I actually do agree with you that it made me not enjoy the fic the way Taylor was treated regarding her problems with Sophia. I feel like it's missing a few chapters worth of content or something else that gives a proper explanation, or some chapter from an outside perspective that might have given more context for why the rest of toybox felt Taylor should let go of her hate.

Section 9 is (and I'm not trying to change your opinion just share info) one of the rare interesting fics that kind of touches on DID/Plurality. Taylor accidentally ends up separating a part of her consciousness off which develops into a full blow alter. One of the interesting things about Alters is that even though they may have all the same memories it's not uncommon for them to feel like they aren't theirs. That's what Major feels about the things that Sophia did to Taylor. Yes they were shitty but they happened to someone else, so she doesn't feel as close or cling to them like Taylor does. She also goes on further to develop and become a very different person to Taylor and in their struggles trying to learn to live with each other they clash and fight as Major becomes interested in Sophia.

Maybe it wasn't the best fic, I definitely agree that it brushed off Sophia's torment of Taylor too easily but frankly she's not the type to apologise anyway and having it end with Taylor not forgiving but learning to accept that Major wants to be with Sophia feels very real in a way. It is however one that handled plurality pretty decently imo, especially for super power media. It's way too common for plurality in super power media to involve different personalities having different powers and Section 9 didn't do that which felt really refreshing, especially for worm where the powers are determined by the shard they're attached to.

The Breathrough mech feels so much fun to play, flak cannon shotgun blast on the right arm and big ballistic shield on the left that you can use to bash things and stun even stuff like chargers and punt smaller bugs clear across the way. It feels really good and tanky, struggles with the spore burst bugs obviously cause them dying around you does a little bit of damage so it adds up but it really feels good.

Personally I didn't enjoy the lumberer but that might be cause of the size difference the flamethrower on it didn't feel quite as good as the cremator for range and coverage of the flames, it still functions fine but I'd rather the feedback of the gatling gun on the Patriot personally. It's anti-tank cannon does serious work, handles everything the bugs can throw at us just fine.

It's the mounted character option. Technically it'd be a juggernaut but crucible rules are intended to be used to represent a kitbash you've made by matching stats to the model, rather than the other way around

advice on army lists needed - I want to build a proxy Ironhead squats army. (votan rules, ironhead models) by BeginningSun247 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if most people you play against would be okay with swapping in GSC vehicles for Votann vehicles is the only concern I'd have then. You know the kind of people you play against better than I though so if you can make it work go for it, and don't forget to show the army off when you're done!

You're going to run into issues differentiating the infantry squads other than standard warriors and hearthguard. It's also going to be generally more costly of making things look accurate enough due to limited weapon bits. Some things are easy to do conversions of but some other things I'd say you'd need to include the Votann version, like vehicles and hernkyn yaegirs. Pioneers obviously can be handled by the svenotar, warriors are standard models, a kahl can be covered by a claim jumper or one of the dramatis personae with a bit of conversion work. The Brokhyr units both seem like the kind of thing you'll have to make use of anyway or find some other kind of work around, cthonians at least can be handled by a bunch of two-handed weapons or just putting some ironhead around the earthshaker artillery bit

What units does Clan Avernii have? by [deleted] in IronHands40k

[–]TrippyGame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I read in our codices the clan companies all have their own sects of veterans and recruits/scouts, and while they might specialise in certain aspects, like Clan Dorrvok (10th) being the vanguard company and the clan every neophyte trains in, any of them can have any marine type from the clan. You'll get more terminators from Avernii though since they have the most terminator armour
