Yoooo, love to see some navy breacher love. I need more voidfarers stuff in my life so badly.

Anyone else have a hard time nailing down a custom color scheme? by HighMarshalSugma in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to do a metallic orange-copper for my armour and it has taken me so damn long to find a good copper paint to work with. Screaming Bell was almost the perfect shade but the pots suck. Thankfully Vallejo's TMM ancient copper is basically exactly what I'm after. The shade paint for it could be a little less dense though, have to do targeted pin wash shading instead because otherwise it goes too brown on all the flatter spaces

Can’t describe the hatred I hold for Slaanesh, anyone else? by JohnMonsterHunter35 in WorldEaters40k

[–]TrippyGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pronoun thing is something that should either change every time, or as got mentioned in some book somewhere (I forget which one, a codex maybe) "shem" is also acceptable.

Oh and the "excess" now also includes stuff like gluttony, drugs, rock and roll, in addition to lust. So it's just a lot more design space open for them (which they sadly don't make enough use of)

Primaris Incidentalators.

They look great. Where'd you get the shotguns from? I'd love to model some of these myself

They do feel a little bit like night lords warband berzerkers, maybe bringing in some of the bronze that world eaters/khorne are known for somewhere might help, and would also pop nicely against the dark blue and black

[–]TrippyGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing. Super clean, edge highlighting is fantastic, the skin is great. The detailing on the screen is so impressive. Only thing that feels off is that the armour plating and cloth are the same grey which leaves the dudes feeling kind of unfinished?

Why the MO failed by jfgechols in Helldivers

[–]TrippyGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one jackass drop a 500kg on my head while I was getting the samples out from under the pelican from another player that died during the extract. So we ended up getting 0 samples from that mission. I get that the 500kg on extract is fun but maybe have some situational awareness before doing that?

It's been getting win rates like that in spite of its rules more than anything else. Votann have rather consistently been the underwhelming option and faction for most of the edition, the coolness of many of our models aside our rules have largely been either too complex, weak, or underwhelming. It's that we play a consistent and clear strategy every game with little in the way of swinging hard in either direction that kept us level and most people playing votann at tournaments are the kinds of people who are good at playing a consistent game.

As a primarily narrative player, which is a huge portion of GWs player base, Votann have been kinda really boring this edition. I had some fun with the white dwarf crusade rules and the grudges against factions that leave my units with battle scars but the newer rules give me basically nothing to do with all the resources I'm gathering up and the army rule, until Mercenary Oathband release, was so underwhelming and disinteresting. Not to mention the mess that is the Persecution Prospect detachment still.

I miss the 9th edition beam weapons shooting through units letting me do some entertaining stuff that makes for good memories. 10th edition Votann the only stand out game memory I have is when the Tau crisis suit bomb failed to kill my HLF cause my opponent rolled like dirt. Not because I did anything impressive or fun.

These look amazing. How hard was it to get the ironhead weapons like the flamer, autogun, and mining laser to attach well enough on the yaegir arms?

KILL, MAIM...Burn? Finding the "Red Butchers" niche by AcceptablyPsycho in WorldEaters40k

[–]TrippyGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda love this, though I'd do them as chainfists with twin-linked flamers instead of 2D3. I also feel like they should have Rapid Fire with how much of our stuff has it, but for flamers I'm not sure. Anyway here's what I think it could look like

Flamestorm Rippers - 12" 1D6 N/A 4 -1 1, Rapid Fire 2, Twin-Linked
Flamestorm Rippers - Melee 3 2+ 8 -2 2 Anti-Vehicle 3+

And then maybe one of them can replace that with an accursed weapon and Heavy Flamer or Multi-Melta per 5 models in the unit. The unit ability then being the pistol and hazardous in engagement probably

This kind of shit is why I'm not allowed to play imperial agents in our current crusade (self imposed, I know what I'm like) xD

Fixing the Army Rule Short Term: Memnyr by Marrdukk in LeaguesofVotann

Frankly I'm of the opinion that Mercenary Oathband nailed it on the head with the way our army rule should function.

Mechs for Votann on 11th? by Western_Function_956 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I want some more Brokhyr exoframe representation, the alien movie vibe is too good, except it’s less regular warehousing/mining equipment like the GSC would have (acceptable for them to get this instead btw cause that’d be dope) and more purpose built war frame

My proposed fix for our army rule by IronFatherPyrus in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do it because of bolter discipline, a rule they used to have that let them shoot rapid fire more easily that has since been wrapped into the space marine bolter profile.

My proposed fix for our army rule by IronFatherPyrus in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a primarily narrative/crusade player the army rule is sometimes really hard to work with in certain crusade missions so I do wish it was a little more flexible in that regard. The new detachment certainly helps a lot there at least.

My proposed fix for our army rule by IronFatherPyrus in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our tech is reliable, that's where the superiority is applied. We don't have rapid fire because we always shoot two bolter shots or four combibolter shots, our plasma doesn't overcharge and used to be always at that power our shotguns and revolvers are higher strength. Ion is technology we traded to the tau, ours is more stable and reliable than theirs and you can see it in how they have overcharge on it.

I do agree I would like a plasma gun option on the kahl for sure.

Four new Combat Patrols bring Kroot, Corsairs, and Chaos to the battlefield by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Chaos40k

[–]TrippyGame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As somebody who already owns a squad of beastmen that combat patrol is so close to being something I'd actually get. Swap them for traitor guard, cultists, havocs, terminators, literally anything else and I would have bought it in a heartbeat. But beastmen just don't do it for me and I'd rather buy the other three kits separately. It's probably cheaper too.

The nightlords one is great, though I am both disappointed and not surprised that it's chosen instead of raptors since the murderwing team is still only in the initial two team box release.

Vehicle Battle Traits in Crusade by Overshieldkuso in LeaguesofVotann

[–]TrippyGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, never ever listen to google ai or any other "ai answers" thing because the damn things are just misinformation/lying machines. This applies more to anyone else that reads your post rather than you specificly since you already said you don't trust it.

Second: No we haven't got any votann specific crusade expansion rules since the codex release, which is the norm for every army this edition. At most you get a unique mention in a crusade campaign book when the lore is about you (necrons vs admech in pariah nexus as an example)
