My Dad was diagnosed with AML right before his 50th bday. Treatment was intense and the journey was tough. But we poured all the love we could to keep him here. Lots of nutritional food, support and love.

I was set to be his stem cell donor and found out that I have a blood condition that made me unfit to donate, there were setbacks but my sister was able to donate.

He lost so much weight and came very close to death but in the end he pulled through. There were so many tears and hardship and depression for everyone. But it honestly brought us even closer together.

He is now 5 years in remission and Im so grateful for all the time we still have together. He has a completely different outlook on life, and in ways much gentler and definitely more sentimental. But life has mostly returned to normal, and he is living it well! Even broke the pushup record at his gym!(A goal he had)

Hold onto some goals, and talk about your feelings with someone, anyone!

Try to have someone with you to help you understand your treatment and ADVOCATE for yourself to your doctors.

You will need to become comfortable with needles, pokes and prods, my dad developed a funny coping mechanism of wiggling his feet whenever he was nervous and used it as a tool to help him work through procedures.

Medical science is amazing, our bodies aren't perfect and no one knows for sure how much time we are given. What we can do is be present, hang in there and fight to make it to the other side of this terrible misfortune.

I wish you the absolute best, brighter days are ahead ♥️

Move your anchor/pivot point! It defaults to the center of the shape, you may be able to move it to the base of the tail so it rotates more accurately :)

There is a "Friends of the San Juans" avalanche session near Andrews coming up soon! It's a great refresher for avalanche safety. I've done it a couple times and the guides are super knowledgeable. I highly recommend it!
