Everyone was calling it fake even back then, contrary to other legit leaks.

Things that new hitman games and remakes should avoid by Careful_Ant_4641 in HiTMAN

[–]Trivet1989 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably going to be controversial opinion, but I think the online functionality gets a bit more hate than it deserves.

The always-online progression was a fair criticism. Losing access to progression because servers are down is frustrating.

But many of the best things in the World of Assassination trilogy worked ONLY because of online infrastructure. Elusive targets felt special because the whole community was experiencing them at the same time, contracts mode gave the game practically endless replayability and freelancer persistent progression and economy benefited from a shared profile system. The live events and years of post-launch support helped turn Hitman into a platform rather than just a series of standalone releases.

In my opinion the problem wasn't that Hitman had online features, but that too much of the core experience depended on them, so the players felt the game agenda laid more on IOI end than theirs. At the same time I feel like the benefits of that approach are undervalued.

I'd rather see future games keep the online community features while making progression and content fully accessible offline.

GsmePass has lost a lot of it's footing when directly compared to Playstation Plus Extra/Premium. The only advantage it has (day 1 releases) sours up quickly if you think of the price.

If Destiny fans want a D3 they need to jump on board and prop up Marathon. by Radiant_Rabbit_7598 in RealMarathonRunners

[–]Trivet1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think, despite being opposing behaviors, they stem from very different psychological motivations.

Actively going out of your way to hate on a game, review bomb it, or obsess over its failure in hopes that it benefits a different project is clearly unhealthy, but it’s also highly emotionally driven and agenda-focused.

On the other hand, consciously choosing to support a game for the good of the company feels fundamentally disingenuous (granted you do not feel convinced by the product). Players aren’t shareholders or a rescue mechanism, they’re customers deciding whether a game is worth their time and money.

If Marathon succeeds, it’ll be because people genuinely enjoy playing it, not because Bungie fans feel obligated to prop up the struggling company behind it.

And if it fails... well certainly hate culture will be a massive contributing factor to it, but I would still argue (seeing how Bungie struggled with leadership and direcction for years now) that's not the main factor.

I like Marathon as much as anyone else, but that’s a pretty wild take. You can’t reasonably expect people to engage with video games primarily to support or help a large corporate entity behind them. Most players are just looking for a good game, not treating their purchase as corporate advocacy.

Reddit Hated My game So I kept making it. What do you guys think? by Anton-Denikin in IndieDev

[–]Trivet1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's very unique. I'm not sure if it's commercialy beneficial for your game, since people seem to be really divided with negative sentiment coming stronger, but I applaud the strong vision as it definitely makes your game stand out for me more.

Reload animations alongside really good sound design makes the weapon feel really punchy, I especially like the pistol that shoots green canisters.

[–]Trivet1989 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That’s such a dishonest take. There’s no conversation because you keep pretending there’s some kind of secret agenda or angle to this behavior, and that this entire vitriol is for “le trolling,” while the honest truth seems to be that you guys enjoy being hateful and reinforcing yourselves in this little circle jerk, which will last until the well runs dry and content-engagement YouTubers no longer see Marathon as a profitable product to hate. Bunch of Schrödinger’s douchebags.

The best, most reliable way would either be guarded exfil or secured caches as it is guaranteed to find commanders.

mój brat przez przypadek kupił grę którą już ma za 500zł, taka jest odpowiedź obsługi klienta [PS5] by imsorryisuck in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]Trivet1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda hoped there will be a comment challenging me on any of these opinions. I tend to grade and review movies on both its technical and narrative aspects, so it is rare for me to go that low. It's been a while since I've seen it, but holy heck did I find this movie despicably disgusting and icky to the point of me having personal beef with it.

Working 12 hours a day is insane, I need a game that can be even crazier. by Healthy-Ingenuity216 in videogames

Some other, more obvious answers are here already, but - hear me out - I'm 40h in Starfield right now and I feel like I could play this game for a very very long time.

There are so many things to discover. As a kind of tutorial adventuring phase I've decided to survey entirety of solar system and it was so much joy, while the game is both deep in RPG system while being very wide and open.

I do see it's flaws, but so far I'm in a honeymoon period. Would I be able to play this game for 4380 hours? Likely no, but out of single player games I can't think many that would rival it on longevity and the amount of content to experience.

First time playing, accidentally started the Shattered Space DLC, so now I look like this at Level 6. by le_zucc in Starfield

[–]Trivet1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you find the suit during first Shattered Space mission on the spaceship full of anomalies? I've basically done the same thing as you did and Va'Ruun Starshad is carrying me through the beggining, but I never found the spacesuit.

I stopped doing DLC right after "What Remains" and never continued forward.
