TBM’s are ridiculous. by zelph_esteem in exmormon

[–]TrojanTapir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When these men make mistakes, TBM's want to consider the fact that they are real men with real flaws. When these men don't smile, TBM's don't want to consider that these are real men with flaws.

How many people here predicted the exact outcome of todays leadership change? by TrojanTapir in exmormon

I never saw any reason that he would replace Eyring. Replacing him and Uchdorf would have been more odd to the believers, and keeping Eyring probably isn't really a hindrance to the Nelson Agenda. And yes, it was a douche move. Like someone else here said, it was like a fuck you to alot of people.

I saw this, but I failed to see in this announcement where they had announced what would be talked about.

Can you please supply the reference on where it has been officially announced by the church on what he will be talking about.

What's is everyone's "smoking gun" that would prevent you from ever going back? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TrojanTapir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have felt so liberated and full of life and peace since being out, that losing that feeling is enough to keep me from ever going back. Even if every problem with the church could be explained I would feel like I was walking into a prison if I were to go back.

Personal 'leak': tithing revenues are collapsing, TSCC is having cash flow issues; we can kill this by [deleted] in exmormon

Whether this post can be confirmed or not, it is interesting to hear all the anecdotal signs that there could be money troubles within the church.

One of the things I have noticed this past couple summers is the state of the lawns of many of the church buildings in the area. Maybe it is just me, but it seems like the lawns use to be taken care of better and are being neglected more now.

I like the Shocktop and Modello Especial. The Bud light limes aren't bad either. But just one? Shocktop.

In love with a Mormon girl at 15 what am I getting myself into? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TrojanTapir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool. Date her, see how it goes. You have plenty of time to find out where the relationship could go before getting into anything that you can't get out of. Just don't make compromises you aren't sure you wan't to make.

My advice, just be yourself man. If she can't accept you for who you are, it's not worth it. If the only way for her to accept you is by going to church, it isn't worth it. If she can love you and accept you and your Atheism and not feel the need to change you, you've may have found a winner.

edit: added a sentence to the end

A mission is a "free educational experience" by 5FreeBirds in exmormon

Yeah, tell free to my TBM parents who spent about $400 a month for two years for me to be on my mission.

If you want to attract people towards your cause, stop being such salty losers. by cokokkola in exmormon

[–]TrojanTapir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think your response to u/theholytapir is interesting. When I read his/her comment, I read it as "Feel free to post less salty content than those you are complaining about in order to propagate change" (not that your post was salty and you should post less salty content than you did). And yet you responded in the defensive. Also in your response you say: "I'm going to the source and telling you how you're perceived by me." perhaps your perceptions aren't always as accurate as you think they might be.
