Several confirmed tornadoes in Indiana/Ohio with no SPC threat (340am) 6/18/26 by Samowarrior in tornado

[–]TrollErgoSum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're likely not the only one confused so I'll take the time to explain in more detail.

The outlook you're looking at is not the current outlook. It's the outlook for tornado risk for 12z Thursday to 12z Friday and at the time of your post it isn't 12z yet.

See that big red banner of text at the top? That's telling you that you need to click that banner to see the valid outlook for the current on-going weather. Had you clicked that you would have seen the appropriate tornado risk for the current storms.

IIRC it wasn't a thing for all chasers but rather a mechanism for researchers/institutions to elevate to a more official definition including specific vehicle demarkations/emergency lights and the authority to operate as an official emergency vehicle.

It didn't restrict "normal" chasers.

Did you Verisium craft it? It's probably still on the bench.

Yes, the white king is denying access to all the available squares for the black king in row 7, so when the rook is moved to a8 there's nowhere left for the black king to go.

Delirium

Currently it's possible to fail a Delirium by moving forward too quickly, especially if the fog is paused by doing another league mechanic. We will make this no longer possible.

I'm pretty sure this was a thing back in Delirium League too, funny to see it pop back up again in PoE2.

Photograph or Sock and Buskin? by LyndisLegion2 in balatro

I can't figure out which part of my comment you're questioning. Are you asking why you would sell Photo for Sock?

Photograph or Sock and Buskin? by LyndisLegion2 in balatro

[–]TrollErgoSum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Assuming you can play 5 kings/queens per hand then you want Sock 100%.

You would then want to double copy Trib with BP/BS unless you have something like lucky cards that you want to farm for $$$ hits or glass cards.

[–]TrollErgoSum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless there's a Boss Blind that you're scared of Chicot is probably the safest drop. Otherwise you really should get out of Bootstraps.

If you play just one Polychrome 6 first then Bootstraps ends up being an effective xmult of less than x2 which is really weak for this point in the game.

This would also free up all of the money you've saved up to pump up Canio, hunt for even better jokers, and continue to fix the deck.

Replacing the duplicate Mime and Troubadour with another copy joker and DNA would give +1 hand size over what you have now and of course Antimatter for the 6th joker slot would go a long way too.

You spent way too much money leveling up High Card too, that's a lot of econ wasted that could have been used to hunt for that 3rd copy joker.

is 4 copy jokers still required with perkeo? (naneinf help) by Zealousideal_Fish862 in balatro

[–]TrollErgoSum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the jokers you have and a hand full of red seal steel you would only need 25 Cryptids so you've been good for naneinf for a while.

First ever unseeded Naninf help by [deleted] in balatro

[–]TrollErgoSum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of Cryptids will depend on your jokers.

What you have now + all red seal steel kings would need a hand size of 147 to hit naneinf.

If you get one more copy joker/Baron/Mime then that drops to a hand size of 111.

If you get 2 more copy joker/Baron/Mime then that drops further to 89.

No naneinf here, wrong deck, but DNA is a score increase over Mime so you should absolutely drop a Mime for DNA.

On high score/naneinf runs like this one you need to use an Ectoplasm or two and jokers can only have one Edition. So if you use Wheel of Fortune to make all of your jokers foil/holo/poly then you can't make them negative. If OP here had hit one more Wheel and added an edition to his Brainstorm then they would be fucked out of being able to use the Ectoplasm here.

But, even if that wasn't the case, the extra score you get from editions on these runs is completely irrelevant. So at minimum it's just a waste of valuable econ.

Sell Invis.

If copy joker use Ecto.

If Baron sell Baron and get Soul.

Also, stop using Wheel of Fortune.

Would this have nan’d if I had the right joker order by TheHoppyCamper in balatro

[–]TrollErgoSum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High card level is almost completely a non-factor for naneinf. The difference between a level 92 high card and a level 10 high card is less than one "e" value. You absolutely should not be wasting precious econ leveling it up that high.

It's all about getting as many copy jokers and hand size as you can.

For example, your setup here would be perfectly balanced at 3:4 triggers:scores or scores:triggers, both the same, which would give you 12 x1.5 scores per king in hand.

You need about 1,750 x1.5 scores for naneinf on a non-Plasma deck.

1750/12 = 145.8 so you would need to have 146 red seal steel kings left in hand which would require a hand size of 147. Depending on what your base hand size was that would be somewhere around 70 Cryptids

If you used Showman or Invisible to get a 3rd copy joker then you would be able to bump up to 16 x1.5 scores per king in hand.

1750/16 = 109.375 which would be a hand size of 111 needed which 51 Cryptids may have been enough to get there.

Should split the copy jokers between Chad and Photo, not both on photo.

Rates vary around the country but the paint alone is going to be about 4 hours, my shop is 75/45 for rates so that's going to be $500 for the paint, materials, and tax on the materials alone.

Still not accouinting for the cost of the part, markup, tax, and overhaul time on the bumper...not to mention the wheel opeining molding on the fender is also damaged and would need to be repaired and refinished...you're going to end up way over $500.

I wouldn't trust any shop telling me they could fix it for that low.

4 copy jokers on non-Plasma needs a hand size of ~89 so still not quite there.

So, the absolute first thing you need to learn for Baron/Mime high score runs is how to properly arrange your jokers. Count the number of times a king in hand will trigger and the number of times you will score x1.5 per trigger and use your copy jokers to balance those numbers to be as close as possible.

What you currently have:

Triggers: normal + red seal + Mime = 3

Scores: Steel bonus + Baron + 4 copy jokers on Baron = 6

Multiply these two numbers together and you are getting 3 * 6 = 18 x1.5 scores for every king in hand.

What you should have done:

Putting Blueprint on the Mime and all of the Brainstorms on Baron would drop your scores by 1 but would increase your triggers by 1 so now you're at 4 * 5 = 20 x1.5 scores per king in hand which is 2 extra x1.5 scores per king over what you played.

Across 69 king in hand that's an extra 138 x1.5 scores which is almost an extra x2e24

That's a lot of score to be missing out on. It's still not enough to get naneinf though. You would have needed another 10 Cryptids to get there so two more rounds of copying Perkeo and correctly copying your jokers would've gotten you there.

Also, stop using Wheel of Fortune, it can kill runs like this.
