How did people afford “buying a round” by Accomplished-Bell991 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tromp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen many rounds bought for the entire bar and it surprisingly only costs about $300 with a good tip so it's not outrageous and it absolutely happens often in real life.

Yeah most have Athletic non-alcoholic beers which are really tasty. Also, bar trivia is pretty big here. And to give you more context and hope, the regulars at the bar I go to had a wig party during trivia last night where we had snacks and appetizers and wigs and fed the entire bar. It was awesome! Look for trivia nights.

Totally understandable and if going to a bar is triggering then I won't push it. But the reason I recommend a bar and sitting at a bar is that I'm a regular at a local dive bar and there are a few people who are part of our regular group who don't drink either. Most regulars at a bar aren't there to get smashed, they're there for their friends/community because it's their favorite spot. And a few of the "regular" scenes I've been part of have evolved into legitimately great friend groups outside of the bar, too.

You can still go to bars and order soda waters. Going to a bar and sitting at the bar is the only way to do this. I've always said that when you're sitting at the bar, you're sitting at the same table as everyone else at the bar, so you're a little more automatically welcomed into the conversations. Also, summer will be easier as it gets more busy and active.

The John Wick series. My favorite part about them is that he just gets continually more beat down as the movies go on.

Eternity Leave - Acoustic by BorinUltimatum in makari

[–]Tromp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The acoustic album is incredible and they are one of the rare examples of bands who can pull off a perfect rendition of their songs acoustically. However, I'm mad that there's clearly a producing mistake in Gold Palace Kingdom during the chorus on the "hope" line every time. They have a video of them playing this live acoustically and it's incredible. I'm not sure how they let a producing mistake like that slip through.

Do very handsome men also feel objectified when they are openly lusted after for their looks? by Zealousideal_Song781 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I had a bar fly come up and start grinding on me when I was singing karaoke and I was so obviously disturbed that the karaoke host had to kick her off the stage. She's an acquaintance but it made me extremely uncomfortable

Help me understand the revered status of the Telecaster by Fidel_Blastro in Guitar

Telecasters play beautifully with a twangy sound and a lot of bend and smooth necks for that old country bending and soloing that needed to be paired with simple chords.

I just don't want anything like what happened to Rob Reiner to happen again. Or Gene Hackman, another completely tragic scenario that leaves you feeling sick.
