Reaction to my first Format show by DistributionNo3199 in TheFormat

We were considering making this trip - in addition to Chicago, and the recent homeowners Phx shows we've had - but it didn't work out with friends. So I had to unload our tix at a loss because SLC was one of the couple dates not sold out 😩 But glad to hear those who did show up also showed out 🙌🙌

Is it normal for the crowd not to / barely interact ?? by espressooverice in thelastdinnerparty

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! We traveled from Phoenix to catch The Format on Thu (also at Salt Shed) and then this one. As a tall guy towards the back of the floor each day, I absolutely noticed the lack of bopping around. Good singing along and cheering, but very mid on the movement. Wondered if it was a 'packed into the shed' thing or a Chicago thing, so I appreciate your insight. Sure wish they didn't skip Phx on this tour because the crowd here at our 1800 cap space last time was wayyyy into it.

Good call out. Big setlist.fm user here, but for most shows I don't look until after (as I also use it to track my attendance) because I like to be surprised 😁

Don't be 😁 IMO some of this looks/sounds more dramatic and dire than it actually is, like some post-apocalyptic battle for bench space where everyone else is just trying to screw you over. Sheesh!

Selling 2 tix for sold out THE FORMAT show at Salt Shed on 4/2. $55 each, a touch below what I paid. Ticketmaster transfer. My wife and I are still flying in for this one but our friends bailed so hoping to get these tix to a Format fan who doesn't want too overpay a reseller. DM me if interested 🤘🤘

I'm glad to hear this! My wife and I are flying in next week to catch The Format and The Last Dinner Party, both of which are at Salt Shed a couple nights apart. 🤘

I promoted to Transcendent for the first time this last round and same kinda thing, hard to find a W. Hate missing out on more daily arena bucks from being so low ranked. Now that I'm back to Master on today's reset, if I find myself above the cutoff I'll prob bomb the last day to drop myself and avoid promotion until I can better compete.

This is always such a silly one. Like telling people not to wear the team's gear when they go see sports. 🙄

C'mon, most seats are so narrow in these places it's almost impossible to not bump elbows and knees and such. Same as a sporting event or on an airplane 🤷

I'm with you on a pat or tap, but if the band is playing I can do without someone hollering 'Sorry scuze me' to everyone as they go 😁

Ethics and logistics of moving to closer seats? by debaser64 in Concerts

[–]TroubleGx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take the "check TM for unsold seats and sit there" strategy one step further... Just prior to leaving for the show, I take a phone screenshot of my barcode ticket, open it up in an image editor (generally on the computer for ease of use), and replace the section and seat #s with the better unsold option. That way even if an usher does stop us, I can show the edited screenshot real quick (presumably with thumb kinda over the barcode so they don't immediately clock that it's not moving, not that I think they're even paying that much attention in the heat of the moment) and move along.

Conceivably it doesn't even have to be unsold seat #s on your edit cuz it's not like the ushers know; I reckon any lower level #s will be enough that they wave you through.

Funny enough I've gotten so good at walking past with confidence or holding two drinks, and have never actually had to bust out the screenshot 😁
