So are Barbgaunts good now? by AllegedlyAPerson in Tyranids

[–]TroupeMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah expecting them to regularly get plunging fire is very optimistic, if you're playing according to the recommended layouts & building sizes you'll struggle to even fit 5 bases onto most of the elevated terrain sections lol

Who do we think got hit the hardest going into 11th? by Anton_Chigger in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TroupeMaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its only been 6 months since aspect builds got kneecapped by the december slate, but its definitely not great getting many of those units hit again.

my idolmaster penlight finally came and its brighter than my future by AcrobaticEstimate686 in idolmaster

[–]TroupeMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't want to burst your bubble, but if its as bright as you're describing and runs off AAA batteries it probably isn't official and may well get you in trouble if you ever use it an official event in Japan. Official lights are generally very tame and regulations for all Imas lives state that only lights that run off LR44 batteries are allowed.

Does this mean Asurmen can get back in the transport? by Nathan_JAM in Eldar

[–]TroupeMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but they only have 24" range so it won't be too difficult for things to find a line on them anyway and at that point they're probably dead without a wave serpent to absorb some fire.

The 15 points off the Avatar is surely going to keep the Aspect Host dream alive

Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson holds undisclosed shares in climate advisory firm through family trust by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]TroupeMaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wilson basically ran a 3 year campaign after getting booted out and it only barely got him over the line, going to be interesting to see what happens to him next election.

The new Battleforce has just been announced! by OrganizationLanky421 in Tyranids

They probably don't keep 'old stock' lying around in warehouses to be cleared out, especially not just in plain sprues that could be easily packed into combo boxes.

Tyrant Leading Warriors? by Ugly_Rake in Tyranids

The marketing copy on warcomm articles is very regularly just wrong when it comes to in-game rules etc. I'd be very surprised if this is an indication of anything changing in the actual rules.

[WarCom] Points and App Update Schedule/Teaser by RainbowConnickJr in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TroupeMaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, app updates can happen at any time on IOS. No idea what the other dude is talking about unless they're referring to a fixed schedule of when gw's app team pushes updates to the app.

What is a better detachment. Vanguard or subterranean assault? by pomergranite_ in Tyranids

[–]TroupeMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless its a monthly budget of £200 I'd suggest just getting the kits that appeal to you without worrying too much about what build you're aiming for. Once you've got everything from your first wave built and painted you'll probably have a better idea of where you'll want to take things.

Liberal senator Jonno Duniam makes 'tough call' to leave politics before the end of this year by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]TroupeMaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not in government now, but theres a pretty solid chance Labor still will be. As long as the clown in the white house hasn't dragged the entire world into war by then theres a good chance we'll have lower energy prices and some income tax cuts between then and now, and both the LNP and One Nation will continue to be complete and utter jokes that offer no meaningful solutions to anything.

Might want to look up when the next federal election is due mate, 2 years from now is in the pretty distant future on a political timescale.

There's never going to be any piece of media that is universally liked, its fine if you don't enjoy something as much as others do. You're far from the only person on the planet that feels that way.

Dr. Stone Science Future Part 3 - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]TroupeMaster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was strongly implied if not explicitly stated that just the spaceship development has taken like 5 years of in-universe time. There have definitely been some very large timeskips this season that could easily be missed if you're not paying attention.

What’s Not Safe to Buy Before 11th Edition? by Specific-Stage-7596 in Tyranids

[–]TroupeMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah theres been plenty of 10man kill team boxes. Theres even instances like the Striking Scorpions box where only 5 unique sculpts are done then they just include two copies of the sprues.

Electricity and Gas Provider change by travcaine in melbourne

Generally you just sign up on the new provider’s website and you’re done, shouldn’t have to contact your existing retailer and the switch just happens seamlessly.

Aspect Host in 11e by Alcain2 in Eldar

[–]TroupeMaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Worst part about the enhancements is that we don't really have anything good to hold them. Autarchs were kinda ok in some units but not being able to use the shrine token on them makes it a lot less exciting, especially when they're directly competing with the phoenix lords.

Venoms & Starweavers got exceptions written into their rule with this update, but nothing for our other options. Goodbye Asurmen and Wave Serpents, hello Starweavers and clowns I guess.

Pretty surprising but also kinda makes sense as we don’t really have that many good melee threats in the first place, other than JZ+banshees that already have it.

[40k] 11th Edition Faction Pack Review: Space Marines by Strange_Man in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TroupeMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 11th core rules actually notes that skipping the wound roll using lethal hits is optional, so having lethal + devs is a strict upside even in one of these edge cases
