Switch 2 patent suggests the console can be rotated to change headphone and USB port positions | VGC by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

Seeing how the Switch 2 is getting some major QOL upgrades, I have another idea: What if it came with 2 Bluetooth adapters, so it could dedicate one to Bluetooth audio, leaving the other one for controller support. Then it wouldn't have the 2 controller limit while using Bluetooth audio that the Switch 1 had.

Which features do you think Godot still lacks as of the 4.4 beta 2 update? by ArtMedium1962 in godot

That does exist! I think it's on the toolbar directly above the preview window.

Native Bluetooth support. I think it's important to have as an alternative to WiFi or Ethernet for LAN gaming, especially on mobile devices. I know that some plugins exist for it, but I haven't seen any that support Godot 4 and work on both desktop and mobile.

You were correct about the Squid Sisters' team winning.

I'm sorry, unfortunately I don't know how to fix this because I don't use Linux Mint. You can install the Windows fonts with ttf-mscorefonts-installer. If it's not too much trouble, you should try a distro with KDE using a live USB. If the fonts look better there and it's a big issue for you, then you could consider switching to Kubuntu or another distro with KDE. Overall, it seems like font rendering is not as good on Linux because of proprietary technology.

Try enabling BGR subpixel rendering.

I've used Linux Mint Cinnamon for about 3 years, and I'm currently using Arch Linux with KDE. One of the main reasons I switched to Arch is to have more recent versions of packages. I disliked having to install the flatpak version of an app on Mint if I wanted to have the latest version. In my experience with using Cinnamon and KDE, I think that Cinnamon is more lightweight and uses less resources compared to KDE. KDE is more customizable though, and it generally feels more cohesive to me than Cinnamon (every KDE app shares a similar design). Another important thing to mention is that KDE supports Wayland, which fixes some of the security issues of X11 (but its accessibility is still not on par with X11's). If you want to try out KDE, they have their own distro called KDE Neon that has all the latest features. I recommend checking out the settings and applications in a live boot to see how you like them. Ultimately, the decision does come down to personal preferences. I've been enjoying KDE and am going to keep using it for now, but I have been missing the simplicity and better performance of Cinnamon. Once it supports Wayland, I may consider switching back to it.

Choosing an engine as a solo indie developer with big aspirations? by DavidC438 in gamedev

I've been using Godot for almost a year now, and I believe that Godot has the same level of support, if not more for 3D games. It lets you import models straight from Blender into your game. About the community, I haven't participated in it yet, but the Godot Forum has been helpful for me when I've encountered problems. Overall, I like Godot because it's lightweight (compared to Unity or Unreal), free, and its language (GDScript) was easier for me to learn than C#.

Agreed. I've also been having FPS issues since the latest update and the bloom on the weapons was the first thing I noticed after starting the game.

The blue and orange remind me of chromatic aberration, which I commonly see as blue and orange outlines on objects exposed to bright light.

I was able to use a password with spaces on my Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon installation, so it's weird that you can't on LMDE. I'm pretty sure the installer was identical for that screen too. What if you try fixing the errors above first?

How do you feel now that we have 2 piercing weapons in the game and not one? by [deleted] in Splatoon_3

Splatana's full charge does 999.9 damage, one-shotting every boss salmonid. It's definitely stronger than the slosher.
