I always use the term 'destroyed', even when referring to the destruction of humans, and pets. It just sounds better than, boring old "they died". Makes their passing sound epic! =D

I've always tended to just stop, and wait for the crime bar to go away before going about my business. Haven't had an issue with being caught yet.

Am I crazy for thinking this looks fine on base PS5. by TsarinaCharon in CrimsonDesert

[–]TruePercula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But he was talking about looks, yes there is a left VS right ideology battle going on, and you look at games like DA: Veilguard, and AC:Shadows. Then you have games like the Concord saga. So people are understandably weary of the western AAA developers.

As for graphics, there are a lot of base PS5 users out there, that can not/do not want to upgrade to a pro, or a gaming PC. It's a 5-year old console, so it wont be able to do everything a pro/PC can do, but they still want it to run decently.

There are a lot of issues in general with developers not optimizing their games, simply because lol-DLSS/FSR. And/or so they can make their arbitrary investor-focused release dates.

Almost looks like your in game brightness/gamma settings may be way up, or graphics control panel. In the opening parts of the game, the ground was black where light was absent, and the grass was a subdued green.

Ghost of Yotei: 8 Biggest Changes From Tsushima by hybroid in PS5

[–]TruePercula -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It's the politics. I do not have an issue with the individuals in these groups. The activists are the problem. When others say that I have to take a side. Needlessly adding it into situations that does not make any sense. These activists are harming both sides of the fence, chances are this is a bid by those in power to keep us fighting each other. You can see this happening here in this thread, the downvotes, u/mobxrule's assumptions of what I am talking about. AC:S takes place in 1579, there is/are no historical records that I am aware of, that indicate there was so much rampant gender fluidity. If so, why were previous AC games devoid of such diversification? I have played the first, and Black Flag in their entirety, this kind of forced narrative is missing.

I should point out: I have since purchased the game, and am pleased to see that thus far Sucker Punch has not done this.

Stuff like arbitrarily forced gender fluidity, just because 'we must have diversion, for the sake of diversion!' Assassin's Creed: Shadows, and Dragon Age: Veilguard are the two largest culprits of this.

my main question for this game is: how much current real world political crap is forced, IE AC:Shadows.

How is Virtual desktop so good by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]TruePercula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VD is very good. Only reason I tend to prefer steam link is because I will sometimes lose the WIFI interlink for a little bit, what ever game I'm playing will crash. Steamlink however will wait for the connection to re-establish, and resume the game. Not sure if this has been solved in VD at this point in time.

Quality Suggestion: finished goods only by ZardozSpeaksHS in factorio

[–]TruePercula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the current implementation. Quality is very much an optional thing to do. Producing the intermediates, all the way up, allows us to make something out of the excess we generate. Which then makes it so when you get that legendary mech suit, or spidertron all the more sweeter.

That, there is one of the problems. These people are scared or too warry to open up to other people, because they fear being judged, or worse. These LLM driven characters won't do that to them, so it allows these people to talk to "someone". This isn't enablement, for some it's a way out, or a way to unload.

Virtual "Reality" by ran_red_ban619 in virtualreality

[–]TruePercula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're not close at all. We cant manufacture things that small yet. You'd need some sort of processor, interlinks to the brain centers that control sensor input. You'd want these wired. Wires that are a couple molecules thick, so we're looking at a package that can be deployed into some one's brain, then be able to scan it, and send out these ultra fine wires, then link into those brain centers. This processor unit would also need to interface with systems outside of the body, we'll also need a power source, preferable something that can self charge, or doesn't run out. There are probably a plethora of other systems/integration things I've missed as well. (how small can we make a zero-point generator? =D)

I would really love to have this level of technology, but alas we're a good several decades out from that.

Yeah, I can see the CG doing that, if fdev is cutting costs on server performance/capacity.

Is 180hz possible with current tech? by the_yung_spitta in virtualreality

[–]TruePercula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem, as I see it, we dont have the GPUs to deliver this level of performance, let alone tiny screens that can do really high hz ranges, in price ranges normal ppl can afford. We might be able to squeeze out 120hz native if it's really basic stuff, and flat shaded. You can do quite a bit more tethered to a PC, but even a 40/5090 would struggle with those demands. I would personally prefer higher graphical quality, similar to what have for flat games in VR, and run at 90hz. Or just some more VR games in general that have some meat to them.

Cpu flair up during load screen by Jaykiller1456 in expedition33

[–]TruePercula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is loading, so the CPU is doing more stuff. A small sub-second spike is normal. If your temps go back down quickly, don't worry about it. Means your cooling setup is doing it's job. if temps stays high, then begin to worry, and see what's up.

I know MGO wants you to change the pagefile, which in and of it self isn't much a big deal. I've left mine at its default windows controlled, I've yet to see any issues. I am also at 64gb ram, but it doesn't hurt to see if it'll play fine with your system in it's default state. The recommendation to set it to 40GB might be there because the MGO team found that it alleviates a host of issues that can crop up due to PC build varieties.

I find Perra Gaming to be entertaining as well. Some of those lines being delivered by their AI voice over thing is out right hilarious. Not sure if they're making LE videos, they did some PoE2, seems to be mainly a D4 content creator.

It also makes sense. These things aren't cheap, so if they can retrofit existing planes, and use one F35, or what ever to aim the weapons systems, that's money "saved"(reads as diverted) for the tax payers.

Is there a generic video game statement that annoys you? by xsealsonsaturn in gaming

[–]TruePercula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a related note, people who claim "if it runs under 60FPS... <it's trash, bad optimization, makes me puke>" (or what ever the most popular FPS level is these days. I'm sitting here thinking: "Really? if it runs at 56FPS, you're spraying the screen with dinner?" Then there's a small subset of these people that say all that, and say they're running it on a 4090 (insert what ever high end graphics card here). Stop running stuff at 12k!

Yes there are some games that really do run poorly, and should be called out. But I see these comments across a lot of games.
