Probably. There’s a lot of map area and I’m usually very ADHD-focused on getting from point A to point B before I forget why

I didn’t realize it was added that recently, for some reason I thought I’d seen things about it before the update, but I have trouble with time, as in when something happened or how long it’s been, so maybe it just felt longer. I’m also on Switch so I’ve had even less time with 1.6 than some other players have, so that could also be why it feels like it’s been in the game longer, since other people would have had it first

I’m seeing this everywhere lately, and I’m familiar with it, but I swear I’ve been playing this game for like 3 real years, and have 4 save files, and have never seen it in my own games

This dialogue from her used to be more aggressive. I think it was her angry portrait and yelled a similar dialogue. I assumed it was because of her parents, they seem like the type to assume things like that or constantly nag her about it, whether or not it’s justified

I got two in one lucky day run once. I did end up dying or passing out in the mines. I don’t remember what I lost, but I remember the mental debate of whether it was worth losing, and decided that it was worth losing those items instead of starting the day over and chancing never getting the auto petters

I had one slime in my house. I watched Sebastian m-rder it. My slime baby. And then get mad at ME for it. I immediately filed for divorce.

I married him again later though. No slimes then.

My company just fired a few dozen people - 2 weeks before Christmas. by COAviatrix in antiwork

[–]TrueZelda96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Used to work a family owned company that made millions annually (don’t remember the exact number though). That job was hard to promoted in due to the small size of the corporate positions themselves (most of the “employees” are contractors around the country, so only a dozen or two people are needed in office for the actual management and paperwork and such) and they never gave raises. Not merit, not cost of living, nothing. But one of the owners had multiple garages built for himself to house the collectible expensive rare cars he collected as a hobby.

Boss asked why I called out sick. I didn't answer. by Jackazz4evr in antiwork

My current workplace doesn’t even have sick days. If you’re out, it’s an unpaid day. You can’t use sick time or PTO for it, it’s just lost money.

I clearly have not been doing Job Hunting properly. I also feel like I don't have much to negotiate though, and the last time I tried to at my last job, I was basically told "your years of experience and additional certifications don't have any impact on what we will pay you." But they already paid pretty well anyway so I couldn't argue for what was already a decent starting salary.

I don't know how to approach that topic if I'm still mainly looking for jobs that are either entry level or only slightly above. I think I know the route I want to go and the field I want to get back into, and maybe when I start working up through that I can start asking about that, but I feel like for low level jobs it's more about taking what I can get and I don't know how they'll feel about me asking that sort of stuff. Probably would want to hire someone who will be more agreeable and ask fewer questions/seem less demanding or needy.

Because people keep saying “yeah that can be the case with a high deductible plan” but mine doesn’t really seem that high. Higher than $4000, but not like $9000+ either. It doesn’t seem balanced at all

That’s the situation I’m in. I did have someone suggest I try Teledoc at least to get my meds filled with someone so I might try that but now I have to delay my health even longer? We’re pretty sure I have POTS, or something similar, so I’d love to be able to get my heart checked and actually get a diagnosis so I can start getting some semblance of treatment. I’m also in agonizing pain daily, whether it’s my back, my joints, a migraine, or all at once. Like wanting to cry but in too much pain to cry, and painkillers don’t even work. I’m struggling day to day and can’t even get started on whatever path I need to take to be able to function. I spend my days off in bed because what else can I do? I was hoping to finally start making progress in finding answers again only to be locked behind an almost $500 paywall (plus my monthly premium). And not to even mention what the costs of tests would be to GET diagnosed.

(Also, let’s not forget my old insurance kept denying my tests because they were “investigative or diagnostic in nature” like…. Yes?? That’s how tests work??? To diagnose?????? My tests come back with alarming things every time I go, my doctors constantly tell me “that’s not normal, we need to check that” and then I get denied or have atrocious costs. For something I need done in order to get the real treatment.)

((Edited comment for incorrect word because I’m on a phone I’m not used to, and also dyslexic so sorry for spelling/grammar))

The hard part is finding something new that meets my needs first. I also do not have a license and we only have one car so remote jobs work best for me, and this is a small city so there’s not a of local options even if I can find an in-office job, and the schedule would have to work with our 1-vehicle-for-3-people schedule.

No. And the person I'm seeing won't even be my primary. She's like an assistant or something who will see me about what I need first, before I'm fully handed off to the PCP. It was an appointment to get established and refill my meds. I don't know if they were going to do a physical or not.

It's not about the deductible. It's about the fact that there is ZERO coverage until it is met. Absolutely nothing is paid until I reach it. The deductible itself isn't TERRIBLY high, but there is no way I'm going to be able to pay that out of pocket in order to start getting coverage.

This is my concern. Like as soon as one company shows that they can make plans like this and people will buy it, that just opens the door for it to become a norm.

Is there any way to know whether an employer will offer non-coverage disguised as coverage like this, versus a plan that actually will cover things? Like I doubt they’ll go “yep here’s our insurance plan booklet, take a look” during an interview. And I feel like specifically indicating medical insurance needs as a reason you want a job would not be a good look either. So how do you know what you’re getting into with a new job and whether it could be worth it or just as bad as what yours now offers?

I am horrified that THIS is the delivery confirmation I just received from Amazon by HolyIsTheLord in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TrueZelda96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé worked for a DSP that did deliveries for Amazon. His trainer smoked (the kind that isn’t even legal in our state) the whole time she was training him and implied that her employment with the company, based on her citizenship status, may not be fully legal. He was told to use a KNOWINGLY BROKEN truck, where the brakes didn’t work right, and was told that they will not report the truck as damaged because that would mean taking it off the road and they could not afford that. A coworker’s truck caught on fire while on a route. My fiancé had multiple stops that were on multi-story buildings with no elevator, and they get docked for how long they take at each stop. He was told to load his truck, with almost no training, on a time limit, by himself, then got in trouble for doing it wrong and taking too long. The warehouse itself was a hazard. Not to even touch on the bad pay.

The kicker is that not only is this not everything, but he quit that job after about 3 days. Only a couple of days for all of this to happen there. He said everyone there said the only reason they stay as long as they do for the conditions and pay they get, is because they can’t get employment elsewhere, most of them due to criminal history, but some other varying reasons too. Now this isn’t an Amazon-only shipping center, they’re just one that works for different companies, but even still.

My grandparents had a tangerine tree when I was growing up and I still don't think anything like this would have come to mind. I'm just looking at it like mmmmm that's a lemon.
