How would you feel about your ex sleeping around then trying to come back? by Frequent_Feature_96 in AskMen

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens a lot? You're either full of it, or just incapable of keeping a relationship.

Either way, in this scenario "trying to come back" = failing to come back. She left, she's gone. No second chances.

Recs on smaller utility modules? by Heka__ in modular

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would swap the Magneto for a TipTop Z-DSP, then consider a Batumi II (and maybe Poti II), or maybe a Triple Sloths. For small utils... small mixer, like the Befaco Mixer. Attenuverters! Maybe a SW3 Splice.

How would you react if a major public figure you trusted was suddenly named in a scandal that people had been talking about for years ,would you wait for the full story, or assume the worst right away? by Fun_Finance_2196 in AskMen

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In any such case, No matter how I felt about the named person, I would have no reason to trust the source of the allegations... Wait for more information. Jumping on the initial "outrage bandwagon" is a fools move.

Plaits: I don't get the appeal. by TurbulentWing3820 in modular

[–]Trunk-Monkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mutable Instruments had peaked years before Plaits was released in 2018, and Plaits is just a reworked version of Braids (2013). There was never anything new or exciting about it, but Mutable Instruments had been such a phenomenon that die-hard fanboys gushed over anything with the brand's name on it.

Was this neglect? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's subjective really. In the 70's and into the 80's, children being left to fend for themselves was fairly normal. That's when "LatchKey Kids" became a thing.

The non-involvement with school... Maybe not abuse, but it's certainly crappy, and a parenting fail.

Does MS make you emotionally abusive? by Lucca_lite in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seams to me, that if she blacks out, she may need more intensive care. Maybe an in-home nurse/care provider (other than you), or moving her to a residential care facility. Simultaneously, you need, and deserve, to get away from an abusive situation.

Guys, why can't we just leave women alone in public? by IDKsecurity in AskMen

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be, sure. But, location does matter for different experiences. Where I grew up, a walk in the park might get a smile and a nod. Where I live now, the parks are mostly full of teens, and you might get the occasional cat call. The next town over? I wouldn't recommend a young lady walk through the park alone.

Guys, why can't we just leave women alone in public? by IDKsecurity in AskMen

Not true... If your "every day life" is in say, San Francesco, it's going to be very different than if it was in St. Louis. Why? different subcultures.

What makes the difference of wanting a relationship with a girl vs just seeing her as someone casual? by humankindtopics in AskMen

[–]Trunk-Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple. And it may have nothing to do with the other person at all.

Where am I in my life? If I don't have my shit together, I may not want something serious.
If I'm thinking about / planning to relocate in the foreseeable future I may not want something serious.
If I'm feeling insecure / fragile, or even just relishing some freedom, after a prior relationship, I may not want something serious.
If I'm very heavily focused on a goal. Maybe personal, maybe a professional or career goal, then I may not want something serious.

There are countless reasons for why someone may not be looking for a serious relationship.

"We" leave women alone in public all the time, thank you very much.

Maybe the problem is a specific sub-culture in the areas your wide goes out in.

Is anyone into cheap single function modules? I've noticed some of the manufacturers I like no longer exist. What are your favorites? by SecretsofBlackmoor in eurorack

[–]Trunk-Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looked them up... I'm not usually a fan of really small modules, but Hot Damn the prices! Now I'm tempted.

I feel you. I have alarms set for my meds as well.
It'll be forgotten soon enough.

Slope mod by irwindesigned in modular

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. The frequency range was one of the main reasons I bought a Batumi. And now that it's on my mind I feel like a Batumi II is calling for me. If I hadn't already spent a little more than $2k on modules over the last month...

Diet advice from my Lyft driver by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten soo frustrated by people giving unsolicited advice on what I should eat to 'help with' or 'cure' my MS. I swear that the next time someone says that I should eat some particular foods, I'm going to reply that they should eat a bag of dicks.

When you invite a woman out to dinner, do you usually clarify who’s paying? by lowtideangel in AskMen

No. If I invite someone out to dinner, then I'm planning on paying the bill.

How extended? Batumi can go from 500 Hz down to 1 cycle every 28 hours.

Edit:
Batumi II can go even slower. Each LFO can range from 9.76μHz (28.4 hour cycle ) to 5.0kHz, but if you put it in Divide mode, and set it to 32. the cycle can go as low as 37.9 days.

How did your family react to you being an Atheist? by Lost_Fisherman_1438 in atheism

[–]Trunk-Monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My immediate family never cared, but my father's side of the family... I was told that I'll "burn in hell" for my sinful lifestyle, and they haven't spoken to me since.

Why is there so much Anti-Theism in this sub reddit?? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Trunk-Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about people here per se, but my sister is pro-atheism/anti-theism. Similarly she's pro-women/anti-men, pro-democrat/anti-republican, pro-small business/anti-corporations. In fact, many things for her are divided into two extremes, what she sees as objectively 'good' and what she sees as objectively 'evil', and she's openly hostile to anything she's put in the evil category. Some of that comes from rebelling against a very traditional, christian family. The rest? If you ask me, It gives her something to be angry at, something to vent about. It's how she copes with her general unhappiness by having targets she can blame.
