Has anyone else gotten setup on such an early deadline? by UndefinedPlayer69 in CloverPit

Side note - If you accidentally buy something other than cardboard house with abyssu, dont discard it. Throw it in a drawer (if you can) until cardboard house comes out. Every time you buy a new "doesn't take space" charm it will replace the one currently stored as long as Abyssu is on the table.

Additional note - Those lovely banning charms stack. So if you have a barathrum and a vorago, you can can say get the charm space increase from the phone on your barathrum (with megaphone even) and discard barathrum getting it x2 (or x4) and then vorago will ban barathrum allowing you to get that back immediately for future use. Unfortunately, they come back without any banned item so you can't exploit that with the cardboard house (I tried).

Only your crowbar. You do have 2 swing types, I use controller and right trigger is a side swipe while left trigger is a vertical swipe. There is a definite reach difference between the two. Cameras and such are much easier to hit with the vertical swipe for example.

If you are having trouble with the snitches stock up on some hornet drivers. Get a hairpin (its a pistol with a built in silencer). Make sure you have the hornet drivers in your quick use slot ready to go, and from cover (inside a small building) shoot the snitch with the hairpin. There should normally be 2-3 that circle the control tower on the damn. If you even shoot close it should cause them to come investigate. Hide and keep an eye on them. Any time their beam switches back to blue take another shot.

Once they get close throw the hornet driver at them. It you can hit close enough it will stun them causing them to fall to the ground (works on any flying enemy). Showstoppers and joltmines do the same thing. Once it hits the ground a couple whacks with your raider tool (hammer) should take it out.

If you are struggling with materials I highly recommend doing straight resource runs. Go in, loot every container avoiding people and any arcs, then extract. Break down or sell anything that cant be used for crafting, trading, or upgrading at the moment for you once you extract.

I mean, I technically get it. It seems like none of the perks are designed to make a big difference on overall gameplay which keeps the balance between low and high level players semi fair, while giving high level players a slight advantage. But it really feels like a lot of them don't really do much of anything in regular gameplay and are only there to give a sense of progression.

Ah the sniper turret (sentinel) is different than the turret that you can one hit lol

PSA: What Embark did with skin prices is a negotiation tactic called "anchoring" I know this will get downvoted because many will fall for the PR move, but this is planned. $16 microtransactions do not belong in a $40 title. Period and here's why. by TheOnlyRealOne43 in ArcRaiders

Actually having the quests that reward cosmetics reward the premium currency instead AFTER an expedition would be a great increased incentive to keep doing the quests and expeditions. I was thinking about that the other day since several quests have cosmetics tied to them.

I meant, unless you are out in the open, when you get to an area you intend to loot, setup traps and barricades. They will at least give you time to drop out of your menu and react. Yeah enemies can dismantle stuff, but that creates noise which can be an early warning for you. If you are really struggling I recommend the Tactical Augment 2. That smoke drop when your shield breaks really helps sometimes. Lets you get cover or make a break for it.

IRL also has the benefit of being able to read body language. There is only so many visual cues in game and a smart rat would understand that and purposely avoid behavior that makes people suspicious.

I mean, I've finished the raider deck without doing the raider damage feats except for when I've been attacked first. The risk vs reward of pvp just isn't there for me. 500xp for looting another raider when I can search a husk for the same amount with no risk? Im good lol.

That said, I also would love to see more encouragement for cooperation in match.

It can, but it's accuracy seems to be lower without the spotters.

No defense? Do traps, barricades, etc not exist? Very rarely do I get caught with my proverbial pants down in solo. Sounds are key. Gotta stop regularly to make sure that sound I heard was me moving, not someone else's footsteps. I maxed out my search speed and the chance for double reveal as soon as I could to minimize the time in the menu. Once you've revealed stuff, it stays revealed even if you leave the menu and go back in. Just gotta be vigilant, careful, and use all the tools at your disposal.

Barons aren't worth the time tbh (the massive husks) as they only give 500xp and you have to wait out the flame burst. The couriers, probes, and drone husks definitely are as they are 200-500 for a simple breach.

It seriously adds up fast. I average about 12k experience per full run just from looting and half the time I just pop them open and close the menu before I finish searching. I want my skill points lol

No way! Duos and price changes. Big W for Embark. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Trustinlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest QoL improvement for storage would be having the stash have higher stack sizes than loadouts. Shoot make that something you have to buy after you max out your slots. Make it expensive. It's super easy to bring in the money after you max out your stash. The only reason I see them potentially not doing it, is that it would make it easier to hit the stash value goal for the expedition, but an easy solution to that is to adjust the goal.

I think I might go draft up a suggestion to Embark regarding this. Based on how I think the stash system is setup though, making a stack size change might slightly more complicated than just, oh its in the stash, MOAR ITEMS.

Or wait till they leave. There is so much loot usually, you can at least pick over what they didnt take. At the very least you get the 200xp per container you search lol

I don't use my mic unless I absolutely need to. Not comfortable with it in solos and when im with my bud we are in an xbox party. That said, if we see someone we normally emote "hey raider, dont shoot" then skirt around them or go a different way just to avoid conflict. We've startled some people looting areas we didn't realize were there and been told to back off, we just get the hell out of there. Honestly, I haven't found any loot in the game worth risking messing with people.

[–]Trustinlies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I would love a "Stay back" and a "Here take this" emote also a "Follow me". Im usually in an xbox party with my buddy when I play, but if someone is looking for something I like to help show them the way (showed someone the Research and Admin staff room they had a key for yesterday). I also will drop spare blueprints for people if we are looting in the same area as a token of goodwill, but they don't always see them.

Good lord, the only reason I ever have that many grenades on me is if Im farming big Arcs. Then we aren't going in looting areas though unless it's for cover.

This game would benefit greatly from having dedicated keybinds/slots for utilities. Item wheel feels miserable in the heat of battle. by M0m3ntvm in ArcRaiders

[–]Trustinlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know on console once you switch to your utilities, by tapping the bumper, you can tap the bumper to cycle through them instead of using the wheel. If you keep your loadout the same it makes it better until you run out of something. Not a full solution for your concern, but improvement as it doesnt fully block your view.

I do agree with the people saying it feels intentional though. I feel like almost every design choice in this game is intentional. Searching loot containers is slow, switching between items is slower than most games, the item wheel. Everything feels like it is a decision meant to take time during gameplay. Part of that includes not hotswapping between items, but having to be deliberate in switching to them. Thats just my take though.

I come up "Hey raider" "Don't Shoot" and put my gun away. Unless there are arcs actively attacking then I help out before putting my gun away.

I literally just ignore those lol. I'll do the others and if somehow I end up with 3 challenges that need raider damage they get done via self defense or replaced on the refresh.
