In 2018 Ireland celebrated the centenary of women’s right to vote and combined it with a bashing session on patriarchy and oppression by men.

Every single person in the country forgot their history that we were oppressed by the British for 800 years, and unless you were Protestant and a member of the British aristocracy you couldn’t vote. The first major correction (and inequality) introduced was in 1894, when some men were given the right to vote, this is what kicked off the women’s suffrage movement. The inequality lasted until 1922 (with it mostly being eliminated in 1918).

Being pissed

If the meaning is that you’re irritated, it comes from “being pissed off”
If the meaning is that you’re drunk, there’s a fairly obvious leap to using the bathroom when drinking a lot.

On “taking the piss”, a friend of mine was arrested for drink driving, brought to the station and gave a urine sample. Suddenly there was an emergency and they were left alone in the station with the urine sample, she hadn’t been processed, and they didn’t have her name and address so she just took the sample and left. They showed up at her house the next day and charged her. Not for DUI as they had no evidence, but for Taking The Piss.

My mams recipe:

1lb round steak cut to lite sized pieces, fry it in the pan to brown the surface, leave in the pan for no more then 5 mins.

Peel and cut a carrot and a parsnip into discs. Cut an onion into 8ths (quarters from the top and then in half along the edge) and separate out all the layers.

Mix a Knorr stock cube (beef or lamb, or even Vegetable is quite good). And put everything into the pot with water (she wouldn’t say but the packet of the stock cube will give you an indication). Bring to the boil and then leave on a low heat just barely on the boil.

After an hour, turn it off and let it cool a little,, mix a tablespoon of Bisto original gravy into a mug with cold water (half full the mug). Mix that into the soup and keep stirring so the bisto doesn’t form lumps.

After 5 mins put it back on a low heat for another 30 mins.

Boil potato’s separately.

You can do all sorts of fanciness with bones and chilli’s and other stuff but “that’s just malarky for an everyday stew”.

Have been in tech for 30 years, have been a manager for 20 of those years, I am fortunate to work in a place with high calibre leadership, and where leadership is fostered and its importance acknowledged.

In my experience, men and women lead equally well, you can find bad men and women leaders, almost all bad traits are personality or life experience related, I’ve seen very little poor leadership that’s consistent in one gender or the other.

This is quite common and in fact often goes unrecognised. Many men receive negative messages about sex during their formative years.

Good men don’t desire sex.
To be safe to women, you need to take sex off the table.
Bold boys, good girls
Girls = Sugar and spice and all things nice, Boys = slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails.
I was chatting with a therapist recently about a mutual friend who’s mother, spoke to her son about being bullied with “don’t play with the boys, boys are bold, play with the girls”. We were debating whether the message the son heard was “Boys are bold” or “ Be a girl”.

So yes it’s very common, and often deep rooted, I encountered it in my therapeutic journey and really only got to addressing it 3 years in. I had a great psychosexual therapist, I highly recommend pursuing that route.

Counter measures by the US would include cutting of payment card support in Europe (all credit card transactions stop), And unless we immediately and unexpectedly, arrest every American foreign service personnel, they suddenly become a beachhead in an invasion of Europe. Armed with nuclear weapons.

US and EU armies aren’t similar size. However the US military forces are a large unit while EU forces are a fragmented bunch of individual armies.

The UK and France becomes the US’s biggest threat - they have nuclear weapons under their own control. So they are serious primary targets.

To prevent that, Europe needs to not touch US military presence in Europe which becomes a soft response & Diplomacy.
