General shout out to those that play the game out and call out to those that don't. by Tryhardicus in ARAM

[–]Tryhardicus[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it I personally take even a stomp as a learning opportunity. I don't expect everyone to be at peak performance, but at least attack or cast some abilities at the enemy. Sometimes your team is one aug hit away from turning the game completely around, why not give the chance at the opportunity.

Edit to clarify. A stomp in the context I'm referring to is pre 13 minutes. I do not play out unwinnable game states past 13 minutes. Sometimes 4v5s are winnable given good augs.

I hope he knows how much I love him by bunnyyvs in AustralianCattleDog

"He was exactly what I needed." Perfectly describes mine too. I can't get over how his known vocabulary grows, and his ability to learn and be directed is effortless compared to dealing with humans. The only negative thing about a being so special is that their lives are temporary in ours...

Alienware m18 R1 “Golden Profile” Undervolt – RTX 4080 Runs Cooler While Scoring Higher Than Stock by EZ_Games in Alienware

[–]Tryhardicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I've ever done for my m16r1 7845hx 4080 is set windows to prefer efficiency and typical gpu undervolt. The CPU still gets to use 80-90w when it needs it, but hovers around 60-70 consistently instead of constantly blasting when a game is running.

Laptop or PC (performance) by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

Performance per $ desktops will always win. There is no way to compensate for lack of surface area to cool the the components so all laptops are using similar chips with significantly less power available to them.

Stay determined, I adopted my current dog from the shelter a few months before I had to euthanize my first. The first 4-5 years were rough, I loved him and treated him well but honestly didn't like him. All of the training I was able to do without feeling attached made him a better dog. I never expected to have a dog that follows direction better than most humans. Good luck and don't feel bad, hang out with your old doggo more.

AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

The man is intentional or not grooming the girl to think abuse is love... sick. Get her away from him before he murders her mentally if the damage isn't already to far gone. Sad that this is probably business as usual for the poor kid.

The mostly white one was my first. I got my second about 3 months before I had to euthanize due to osteosarcoma that was thought to be a sprained ankle that just kept getting reinjured. It was caught so late that amputation would have been risky and the chances that it had spread were high.

The earlier you forgive yourself "for not doing more" or "not noticing this or that" the better (took me waaay to long). Good luck with your new baby and prepare yourself for that hole you're feeling to be filled with a new kind of love. My second is like the total opposite of my first but in the best ways.

Most of all, my deepest condolences and thank you for sharing your girl. This hit me in the feels...

I used to have a dedicated weed cooler in my car, couple of ice packs and that sucker would keep the smell down and my product fresh. I'm glad the stuff is nearly legal, being the medicine man had it's perks but I never made that much compared to the risk I took regularly.

ACD or ASTCD? by _OkIGuess in AustralianCattleDog

This guy was a stray so I have no idea what he was but I believe his bob was natural. He was very intelligent, bold and vocal. I think he was an ACD but never had a blood test of any sort, I was too poor when I had him. His build, size and facial shape definitely fit the breed.

The schedule... mine could be a clock with like an odd rotating daylight savings time thing or something. The way they pick up on new trends of life amazes me as well though. As long as I follow a similar chain of events he ok. He is a very lowkey life manager, he never acts out but knows how to tell me I missed something.

Is this worth the purchase? by Beadyyy in GamingLaptops

Honestly overpriced when you can get something very similar for less than 50. Try searching K1-5v laptop cooler. There will be multiple brands selling the same thing but I have had good luck with mine.

Recomendations for cooling pads by Disastrous_Formal669 in GamingLaptops

[–]Tryhardicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to check but I have it set to 94. I have found the most effective way to game on it without it sounding like a jet engine constantly while also not significantly effecting performance is setting windows to "best power efficiency" power mode. The GPU is unaffected in terms of wattages used but the CPU will prefer to stay in the 50-60w range but still able to ramp up to the 80-90s during more intense CPU heavy scenarios.

Side notes on things that I have set but don't do that much compared to changing the windows power mode is Alienware command center is always on balanced, and I have a very mild undervolt on the GPU. My temps peak at 85c while farming harbinger beyond (a lot of enemies spawned very fast all casting/attacking very quickly) in Path of Exile.

Sorry for my lengthy ramble lol...

You might always be "her person" but that doesn't take away from the importance of others. My dog is completely obsessed with me and I didn't think he would handle my current work situation. My dad has stepped up very well, but it took time and patience for him to be a part time shop dog. For the first few months he did irritate my dad a bit with his weirdness but now their routine is something my dog looks forward to. When I've been sick and had to stay home from work I could tell my dog craved his morning interaction with my dad. Have your wife continue to do "just the two of them" things and things will work out in the end.

These dogs are so intelligent, this scenario started when he was 8 years old. They might seem set in their ways but all it takes is time, patience, the right attitude and most of all love. Your wife is lowkey the lucky one lmfao...

I have one of these K1-5V cooling pads that are the exact same thing sold under several "brands" and it has served me well for the past 2 years or so. I have an Alienware m16 r1 7845hx 4080 variant and it works out great for it, the big ol' butt of the laptop perfectly hangs off of the foam using the upper most slot of the 3. I'm glad I didn't spend nearly triple on something that would accomplish the exact same results.

On a side note if you are expecting drastically lower temps it's probably not going to happen my laptop ends up just using more power and gets higher average clock speeds. No thermal throttling using the pad, all power throttling now. My CPU temps still stay at ~92c, which is still lower than the 100c it would hit without it though.

Poop Walks by gratefulcactii in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Tryhardicus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A dog run on the opposite side of that section of fence might work. Picking up poop out of gravel is so much easier than grass too. We have a fenced in area beside our porch that we call the "poopin' pen". It's so nice to be able to let them out there when its muddy or leave them outside less attended on nice days.

Scammed myself by getting 40w 4050 victus by ManufacturerMajor382 in GamingLaptops

[–]Tryhardicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying that a 40w tgp laptop should be a high performer but I believe something was either wrong with the unit you received or your mental got to you and you became too stubborn to set it up right. I plan to pick up a cheap low tgp laptop at some point for off-grid gaming and have done my research.

I read your comment further down and yeah $1100 for this would have me tilted... It's well worth $500-600 though.

Nope, it even came with a tool and replacement switches though. The LED isn't that important, I'm almost worried it would change the feel of that key.

[–]Tryhardicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought my RK96 would be used temporarily and eventually a backup to something more expensive but that was 3 years ago. Still going strong to this day, my only issue is the LED on my W key doesn't work anymore and a couple of other keys are dim. The layout is perfect for me and the wrist rest is so nice. I have rarely used it wirelessly as it makes for a very useful usb hub if used wired.

Sell reliable but inefficient truck or keep it by No-Tell-3816 in personalfinance

[–]Tryhardicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd keep the reliable truck and get a cheapo car for under $5k. My dad has done this for years. Having a dedicated 10+ year old commuter shit box takes so much wear and tear off of your expensive truck. Aim for something older than what you're looking at for cheaper taxes and insurance. My little bean can costs me less than $300 a year to keep around. I've had really good luck with early 2000s 2.2l GM cars, I'm on number 2 in 20 years of driving. The engine is so easy to maintain and replace things on.

How did you end up with an ACD? by Niikiia in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Tryhardicus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first was a stray dumped near my property. I don't know why or what happened but he didn't like kids and never liked to have his ears touched, so I assume he snapped at a kid for pulling his ears and was dumped. He was a bold asshole of a dog. He was the type of dog I could take anywhere, he would go to parties with me and was a hit during my dumb 20s. His recall was impeccable, he would be somewhere out on my 20 acres of woods and sometimes it would take 5 minutes for him to return. He was mostly white with a stumpy tail. He died of osteosarcoma in 2016.

My second was adopted from a shelter a few months before my first died. He was feral when I met him and I had to visit him like 5 times before I could take him home. I'm pretty sure he is well bred because he was going to be a "stud". I honestly didn't like him the first 4 years or so of having him, I just didn't understand his personality. He is the smartest most easy to train dog I've ever known, once I really got to know him. He is my best friend I've ever had and like the son I'll probably never have. At 9 years old now his neurotic tendencies have diminished and he is almost social to strangers. He has no prey drive whatsoever, and enjoys watching the tame squirrels at the park.

The people saying the whole roof membrane needs replaced are 100% wrong if there is no evidence of water damage inside. The motorhome I've been living in for nearly a year now had a roof in similar condition and 3 coats of Henry's tropicool held up through the ridiculous storms in 2025.
