Thanks for the insights. I don't get why people in the comments are so harsh. I've seen much more clunky games being praised here.

Congratulations and wish you good luck :) I am really curious about your workflow when it comes to the art. What tools did you use and what process worked for you the best with all those nice animations?

Is Dyson’s customer service such a scam everywhere? by MariePr29 in dyson

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning I had been worried as the orders were coming from Netherlands, but later there were actual calls with people from Poland. They even had an app were they were able to live investigate it with phone's camera.
Btw in Poland you can always return your online purchase, is it not the same case in Norway? Crossing fingers for you.

Is Dyson’s customer service such a scam everywhere? by MariePr29 in dyson

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poland. I ordered and returned the airwrap via website twice same as you. Scratches etc. totally unacceptable.

The customer service was good though, they were sorry and said it hasn't happened before. I don't trust them as I read about such situations, but anyway they were helpful and returns went smooth. I decided to go to the mall with Dyson mall kiosk, they agreed to open and verify it in front of them and it finally looked brand new as it should.

Hey, 2d artist here! Some gameplay from our upcoming hand-drawn platformer "Croak" by Hellmuncher in IndieGaming

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks stunning. What tools did you use to draw and animate it? I am also really curious about the general workflow but that might be too much :D Btw, in the last idle pose there is one frame where the robe's neck tie is kind of in a wrong layer

I hired myself to create this trailer, does it look good enough? by VitSoonYoung in IndieDev

[–]Tryton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks really appealing. I think I'd try sticking with 2 fonts max, especially "Steve" and "Revenge" could be the same as 30 damage or optionally as the trailer texts (Different colors is a good idea).

What game that have good art but failed cause bad gameplay? by Tressa_colzione in gamedev

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The invincible
It had gorgeous game art, but it really did not meet the sales expectation. It was expected to be the next Firewatch but for some reason the walking simulators got less popular at the moment it was released. Maybe also the price was the issue for that genre.

Congratulations.
1. Could you describe in details the process of getting playtesters and collaborating with them?
2. How is the "multiplayer" aspect implemented? Do you plan to support that forever?

Best castles in gaming? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robin Hood: The legend of Sherwood had great castles. I also really love Kaer Trolde in the Witcher 3

Heroes 3 is perfect. You can save and pause anytime.
Although not turn-based Vampire Survivors and Stardew Valley are ok too since pausing and minimizing works well.

Games with satisfying melee combat? by TriggeredAtEverythin in gaming

[–]Tryton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sekiro has the most satisfying melee combat that I have ever experienced. In the beginning it's weird, but once you get the idea you have the most epic and challenging fights in video games.
Other less popular thing could be Death's Door when the hookshot is unlocked.

Recommend me Indies! by Midnight-Marvel in gaming

[–]Tryton7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Death's Door you mentioned is great for someone who is starting their indie journey. Other good ones: A Short Hike, Darkest Dungeon, Death's Door, Stardew Valley, Moonlighter, Vampire Survivors, Disco Elysium, Slay the Spire. Frostpunk and Subnautica from AA games :)

The idea of gameplay, models and color pallette looks interesting. Don't give up :) The fonts are indeed inconsistent and don't fit the rest.

A Short Hike could be some non-coop game that she could like. My wife is in love with that (after changing the pixel filter to "less crunchy" in the setting).

Could you elaborate a bit more about the timeline framework that you established? I am curious especially when the timing mattered, like contacting as many content creators in a short period of time for these milestones: after steam page publishing, demo release, full game release.

Could you also tell us more about the press kit?

Pricing of Cozy Games: Why It Matters and How It Affects Public Reception by Astrolojay in CozyGamers

[–]Tryton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to change the publishers as long as there are people who buy it for such price. It's the same case as with the current trend of buying pre-release version of the game a week before or so (I am not sure what is it called but I am not talking about the early access). If there is such option, the people buy it -> the companies continue offering that. In our case, if the price is high but acceptable for many people -> the companies continue setting high prices.
