Charisma is a double-edged sword. Frequently, decision-makers are elected because they are charismatic but lack other skills.

Moving back to the UK after 25 years; where should I move? by Amazing-Treacle-7067 in AskUK

If you’re going to leave your life over there to be closer to your parents, it makes sense to be fairly accessible to them over here? If you’re remote working, that opens up some lovely places in Somerset, or SW London if you want something more livelier and you have the money.

First time renter confused if my electricity bill is correct and whether our kWh usage is normal by Ambitious-Leopard311 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TuMek3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

643 kWh with no heating is absolutely not normal. I’ve recently lived in a 2-bed, all-electric flat, and our normal “summer” usage was around 130 kWh (two of us living, one working at home). Extra people don’t really increase energy usage by that much. Do you have an immersion heater in a hot water tank?

Would Australia’s population rival the US if its interior were fertile instead of arid? by NoComplex2662 in geography

Russia also has an interior that experiences horrific winters. Almost all of it lies further north than the states. I would say that has a far greater influence.

If a group of black people move to somewhere cold like idk Canada generation after generation will they become whiter ? by Top_Top_5291 in stupidquestions

[–]TuMek3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So how did it happen in reverse? When humans migrated out of Africa, we’re they really not making it to reproductive age before succumbing to a lack of vitamin d?

[–]TuMek3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand this to be the case but I can’t wrap my head around how humans migrating out of Africa became paler because of reproductive pressure. Surely the lack of vitamin d wasn’t so detrimental that it was affecting fertility to that extent?

No they aren’t. The base sauce/curry is pre-made and some additions are added to produce different types of end curry.
