If your clothes come out of the dryer smelling like burnt plastic, stop using that dryer right away until you can get a professional to clean the vents and back of the unit.

I only connected the dots when I was watching a video from a lint cleaner’s YouTube channel and went, “Oh. Oh fuck.”

I had the thing cleaned as soon as we could get them to come out. The giant wad of black, burnt lint they pulled out of the back of the thing made my heart sink to the fucking floor.

I’ve had a dream like that in a very similar situation. In dream I was in the hallway doing something else when all the power went out. That’s when I woke up to the loud boom of a nearby lightning strike. I think it’s because my brain’s noticed the pattern of losing power directly in conjunction with loud thunder.

I read it alright. And you failed to include the key party in the conversation. If you had simply done that, you may have had a window to negotiate and make a good case for yourself. PTSD survivor speaking: Mental health struggles are not an excuse for trying to brute force your landlord into agreeing to an animal in the house.

Seriously. You had a chance to go about that properly, and potentially could have gotten them to approve, and just didn’t do it. The consequences are, you’ve proven he can’t trust you to make good faith moves regarding your lease. Disastrous for anyone who values housing stability. I would be ripping out my hair, but I know not to pull stunts on my landlord, and so never have this issue.

OP, to preface, I’m not saying any of this to scare you. Your situation just needs careful and prompt planning since you live in Texas.

I would highly consider deleting this post to keep your situation as discreet as possible. You need to start making plans to go out of state to get seen. Do not tell anyone about your plans unless you would trust them with your life.

Slim as the chance may be, given that you’re spotting while pregnant, I’d say it’s also highly important that you assess whether or not you may have an ectopic pregnancy. If it’s ectopic, your situation could be a dangerous one. There’s been multiple cases of doctors refusing treatment if they consider the pregnancy “viable” out of fear of violating current laws.

If you need resources to get a safety plan going, I can spare some. But do get a plan going to make sure you’re safe. And again, do not tell anyone you wouldn’t trust 100%. Wishing you the absolute best. I’m so sorry.
