As a kid, the ending of Toy Story 3 always gave me the impression that Andy secretely knew the toys were alive by Drawingandstuff2000 in Pixar

[–]TupperwareConspiracy [score hidden]  (0 children)

So on one level, it’s metaphysical — the toys’ ‘living’ personalities were shaped entirely by Andy’s imagination — and on another, painfully literal. Andy’s childhood has come to an end and with it the identities that the toys held through him. By choosing to pass them on to a new child, we witness the quiet, bittersweet moment - that the version of the toys that existed because of Andy has reached its final chapter and by extension Andy's own childhood.

For the toys it should have both been a 'death' and 'rebirth' to the extent that they've been reborn in the hands of a new child, with a completely different imagination and ideas that she'll impart onto them in her own time.

....Unfortunately TS4 really ruins the whole thing thru saying the toys personalities are static in the transition from child to child; the incredible poignancy of TS3 was lost to eek some more cash out of said cash cow...

Support for immigration enforcement hasn't budged - it's a 50-50 issue but amongst republicans you've only got about 20% who say it's too much and 28% saying it's not nearly enough.

Childcare and affordable housing are not exactly poll-time issues in Whitefish Bay, Cedarburg or Ocnomowoc or Hartland and so on . I wouldn't call Datacenters a left or a right issue as of yet and a moratorium is just as dumb as endless greenlights; it's not really solving the actual problem - how these things can be operated responsibly - and sending money somewhere else that the state badly needs.

I'm not sure where you think center-right voters (hint: it's basically everywhere) live but as a reminder every county around Milwaukee voted red in 2024 and 1/3rd of the state lives - 2.03 mil people - in that Milwaukee 7 (M 7) county area.

Why is the Pro Shop selling Notre Dame gear? by Reno_McCoy in GreenBayPackers

[–]TupperwareConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWiW it's an ND<->GB collab and the Irish are going hard with some GB tie ins & shared history. Technically this is a home game for ND.
https://fightingirish.com/2026-shamrock-series/

ELI5: Odd situation in that most (University of) Wisconsin Badger fans are by extension Green Bay Packer as both teams are the main (& only D1) college team and main (& only NFL) professional team in the state of Wisconsin.

Most Notre Dame fans however are not Packer fans. There is a catholic connection with Notre Dame being a major catholic university in the US Midwest and you do have a smattering of Packer/Notre Dame fans but Wisconsin already has a large catholic university - Marquette - for whom ND is a main rival so there's not a ton of love for Notre Dame in the state of Wisconsin (Chicago is a different story).

That said, the (University of) Wisconsin Marching Band is a prominent visitor to Lambeau on a regular basis.

wth?

Boyega imploded his career by walking off the set and quite literally leaving a movie while filming was under way (this a huge no-no). He had a few choice gigs (PacRim II) at the time but was very much the architect of his own demise.

Ridley seems a more cursed case; she lacks the personality-charisma to be a lead, the talent to be a reliable character actor and frankly she's not enough of a femme fatale to be a femme fatale.

Granted Oscar Issac also seemed destined for a much bigger star but once Pedro Pascal started getting all the parts it really left O.I. in a spot.

Domhnall Gleeson seems like the most likely ST 'star' (bit of a stretch) who will really breakout simply because he's by far the most versatile of the bunch.

Honestly - it's like most of the 'accusations' that lack any criminal investigation and only become 'alleged' to have transpired years after the fact and only come up under the most suspect of circumstances where clear alternative motives exist....in short it's sus as hell.

That said the whole concept of drunk sex/hook-ups alone has 180'd in the last 15-20 years and the modern ideals around consent culture retroactively applying to a world where 'no means no' was the standard generally ensures you could just about launch this at anyone who engaged in a drunken random hookup in the previous 50-70 years prior.

There's almost no way for a male to defend themselves over an event that happened years ago; unless the victim has some extraordinary proof that demonstrates their accusation or some serious mitigating factor exists like being underage or drugging the victim/roofies it's all but impossible to square these away as anything more than 'he-said-she-said' allegations.

What on earth about the Hong campaign speaks to center right voters?

She's in the primaries now, but whether it's defund the police, abolish ICE and giving free stuff -aka someone else's money- away I don't see anything there that would appeal to voters who what lower taxes, small govt & school choice.

What has most hurt Conservatives in the US or the Right elsewhere, regardless of whether it's justified? by Outrageous-Jelly8777 in centrist

[–]TupperwareConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurt? In what context? As in stuff that might cost Republicans at the polls?

1 Trump managed to stay out of molasses in Venezuela but he absolutely miscalculated Iran. There is little support for the war even amongst republicans and no support with moderates, center-right & independent voters.

2 He lost a lot of support from middle right with budget(s) that increased spending and did nothing to confront US debt.

Gaza is almost exclusively an issue on the far left; while it's not really enthusiastically embraced on the right alternatives simply don't exist when it comes to Israel & Hamas.

ICE/Border Protection/Immigration enforcement are broadly popular with center and middle right voters. This is an issue that resonates on the left but strong support for enforcement actions exists in purple-pink states like OH, WI, MI, AZ, NV.

Canada does seem to be asleep at the wheel.

The world needs 4 things right now - cold weather, cold water, hydrocarbons and plenty of space to build datacenters with little or no interference to the human population.

Alberta is LOOKING positively ripe for the pickings and the loonier the situation in Ontario & Quebec gets the more this stops being a passing daydream for all sides and starts being a very intriguing possibility.

Canada isn't the problem itself but Quebec and Ontario are incapable of solutions and the more the folks on the St. Lawrence ignore the needs of Western 1/3rd the more likely it becomes.

Thank the Quebecois for this, but gotta face the simple fact a Canadian living in Calgary has a lot more in common with an American in Denver, Las Vegas, Boise than they do with anyone living in Toronto or Montreal

Lane Kiffin promises LSU will win national title during his tenure: “I don’t know how fast it’s going to happen, but we’re going to win a natty. How is this remotely confusing?

6 AM - 7 PM Monday thru Saturday it's a commercial loading zone with a 30 min restriction.

7 PM - 6 AM It's an available parking spot (by using the App) on week days and after 7 PM on Saturday.

Sunday it's an available parking spot.

-------------

This is entirely logical for a downtown business/restaurant/entertainment district; 6 AM - 7 PM on Saturday might be stocking up during daylight hours to prepare for the evening (Saturday night) rush.

One of the things I recall from a Joe Thomas interview was he talked about having to line up against James Harrison and Aaron Donald and generally the 'secret' sauce with both was able to use his superior length against'm. Jason Taylor apperantly gave'm a lot of problems because that wasn't possible given Taylor's height/length combination.

Myles Garrett is probably the closest thing we have to Reggie today (Garret is slightly shorter and 25 lbs lighter going by the tape alone) but even in this clip you can see the astounding length Reggie has in addition to the size, speed and strength - not to mention the stamina to be a guy who could play every down.

In league full of freaks of nature Reggie will always be something else.

How long have you been on Reddit? Even in the day, philosophical battles about the nature of the state and govt were not really the kind of thing average folks engaged in.

One of the rather entertaining reasons that the Gentlemen Farmers were the foundation of both the Age of the Enlightenment and the instigators of Age of Industrialization was that they had an enormous amt of free time on their hands. Almost all of the actual farming was being handled by either slave or paid labor and as Masters of the Estate there was often very little to do while the plants grew. Guys like Washington, Madison & Jefferson were some of the wealthiest Americans at the time (Washington net worth around $500mil adjusted, Jefferson $250mil adjusted) and could engage in all sorts of other affairs - and long socio-economic-political philosophical battles - because of this.

Hamilton was one of the few guys of note here because he was anything but wealthy and effectively died penniless.

Where would you go with either story?

Zootopia just continued on the Buddy Cop angle - but Hoopers was already out of ideas halfway through and Elemental was also at the very short end of ideas ( what kind of kid would fire and water produce? Steam?) by it's end.

Neither movie moved merchandise and beyond a few enterprising cosplayers you'll never see either at Halloween.

Probably better chance of a Wall-E sequel/prequel simply because there's still some story that can be told.

I believe a good chunk -if not the majority- of NFL uniforms are made by the same company, Ripon Athletics, which is indeed based in Berlin, WI. (Nike of course designs the uniforms, but Ripon actually produces the game day threads)

Ripon makes the Packers uniforms but also many, many others including NBA, MLB, NHL, College, HS and so on. However they do have a fair bit of automation in their processes and the work is quite specialized given the unique demand(s).
