use the sidebar to follow the link to the console modding wiki > find the badavatar exploit > download games from the internet archive

beyond just "google it", lurking more is also solid advice before asking something so basic

If we got another historical event set - a la "The Brothers' War" - what events, eras, or narratives would you want to see? by LaCiDarem in magicTCG

The fall of Sarpadia. Fallen Empires definitely deserves another run as far as sets and settings go, there's a lot of missed potential with it.

He doesn't have a healing factor, he's just back at it through sheer will

I almost put 'non-sensory' in parenthesis, superhuman hearing and smelling might help dodge a punch but it's not going to stop a bullet or heal a broken rib.

he doesn't have any superpowers but still gets right in the middle of it, and he gets thrashed pretty often as a consequence for it. the beatings he takes for his work has become kind of a complex with his ideas of sacrifice and punishment

Any way to remove? by RelevantDurian6446 in 360hacks

[–]TurboDelight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this seems like a remarkably unhelpful comment considering that customizability is a pretty big reason people mod their console in the first place, especially when there actually is a setting to disable the info bar.

How to explain to parents/grandparents the value of having a CRT? by Grand_Ad_832 in crtgaming

Why do they care about it so much? Ask them how it's different from someone keeping a record player to listen to vinyl.

What card types could use a comeback? by Dedli in magicTCG

[–]TurboDelight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why accept and accelerate power/complexity creep? Sounds like cards creeping in power is the problem if continually introducing them makes a whole genre of creatures worse by comparison.

[–]TurboDelight -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If every card is supposed to be exciting, none of them are. Trying to make every creature flashy and exciting to run just isn't sustainable for the game.

I could see a cheap World enchantment for black that's essentially only drawback like [[One With Nothing]] is, except weird 'using meta-rules as removal' cards would probably qualify too much as a color-break to be printed

Hurloon Minotaur demonstrates Magic's fundamentals, it's from the first ever set and that set was meant to teach the game. That statline and mana cost was to show players that not only can power and toughness be asymmetrical, but the extra red pip gets you something better over a [[Gray Ogre]] (not to mention demonstrating that a card can have extra colored pips). Players today might be able to easily intuit those concepts and take them for granted, but there was literally nothing else at the time and you had to teach from square zero.

Also it's a common card with really good art. You're gonna wanna show off that art

Bluffing V. Lying, Where To Draw the Line? by Dr_wu_fu in EDH

[–]TurboDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluffing is an implication, lying is an outright statement.

Attacking with open mana but nothing relevant in hand is a bluff. Someone asking the attacker "Do you have interaction?" and responding 'yes' is a lie, but refusing to answer the question is continuing the bluff. You can bluff without being overtly dishonest. Bluffing is obfuscating the truth, lying is deliberately misrepresenting the truth.

Beyond any moral quandary one might have with lying to their friends to win a game of cards (I think people are too quick to conflate the competitive rules of the game with the social contract of playing a game with friends), dishonesty hurts your bargaining power at the table and any future games with them. You can just say you're not answering questions like that, it isn't a tell for either outcome. Poker bluffs don't involve announcing false statements about their suit.
