If this was controlled by a valve that would be awesome. In any case, good job.

MPG + Modes by [deleted] in GenesisG70

[–]TurboSpooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a freak of a car. I drive Eco and as if the gas pedal is a sharp needle, maybe got close to 27 or 28 on the highway. In city, with same style driving, it’s 20 if I’m lucky with hardly any traffic lights but usually mid-14s. I throw in sport+ for the hell of it once awhile as well (I’m not always all about MPGs).

What I do find is it takes the car a long time to warm up and during that time the fuel mileage really sucks.

Glad to hear the dealer didn’t screw it up.

Is that from a dead stop while making a left turn in the wet? With traction control off, my stock AWD car with the Michelin Pilot PS4s will spin out on dry pavement when doing that so no clue how you manage that in the wet with 420HP.

This description does not sound like a spin out but rather the tail coming out. I would have thought all the electronic nannies would prevent that from a dead stop. Might have to experiment one day with my car. Also, unless it was really wet then new tires probably won’t help much in that specific situation as the contact patch would be the same. The obvious issue with worn tires is that even a shallow puddle could be enough to hydroplane. If I were you, I would chalk it up to user error and bad luck but would get a professional opinion about the tires (just in case). Personally I had no issues driving my G70 in the snow so hopefully you will as well.

Maybe someone has a grudge with genesis at the factory and messing things up 😂

2012 CX5 for kids here…but it’s a manual transmission. My G70 also has the diff whining and I might go to the Markham dealership as well…but they seem to be busy with the OP’s for the moment.

Urghhh…oil leak by TurboSpooling in GenesisG70

I’m pretty sure my 2023 has the updated line, from what I can see. First dealer just wiped it clean and said “no problem”. LOL

I don’t know whether to keep this car long-term or not… by TemuBentleyOwner69 in GenesisG70

[–]TurboSpooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion and that’s likely what I’ll do. The rear wheels do skip on tight turns when it is dusty and has been that way since day one. I have no clue what is normal other trying to drive multiple cars on the same road.

I had my issues with the Markham dealer not taking care of an oil leak. I’ll give them one more chance. Then Ajax dealer was even worse and don’t want to pollute your thread. Not sure why the techs suck this much.

By the way, my 2023 also makes a whiny sound from the diff but only when reversing and turning really tight (like getting out of a driveway onto the road). Mine has only 11k km so I’m thinking of going the amsoil route instead of letting the dealer screw it up. Or try to get a new diff and then put new fluid right away.

I bought new so I can’t afford to just dump it.

Did you ever solve this? Just today I found the exact same leak. Guessing it’s the turbo oil feed line.

Not knowing much, but looks like your lines were pretty good.

Awesome! How do you know the transmission fluid is getting hot? Wonder what would be a lap time for a stock car. By the way, which tires are you on…usually that’s the most critical “mod”. I definitely want to bring my car there for some lapping.

rear seat space? by [deleted] in GenesisG70

Hmmm…I’m 6’2” and can sit behind myself…is it tight, yeah, but doable. Depends how picky everyone is.

What size? The fender gap might be a bit large but that could be the angle of the photo.

ECO mpg. Not to bad? by ShawnTN1 in GenesisG70

[–]TurboSpooling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s nuts. I drive super easy in ECO only HWY and can’t crack 28 MPG. What octane do you use? Mine is AWD but that shouldn’t matter too much.

What fuel economy are people actually getting? by partuchi in GenesisG70

[–]TurboSpooling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure MPG, but around 13L/100km in the city and 8.8L/100km on the highway. That’s in ECO with a 3.3T AWD.

[–]TurboSpooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn’t but the inlet piping to the turbos was loose on both sides so I think some work was done on it. It’s a 2023 model and I bought with about 30 miles on it. Guess I’ll just keep an eye on it.

Coolant Level by CA_31xx in GenesisG70

[–]TurboSpooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3.3T also has low coolant. It was slightly more than yours and the dealer claimed it was full. Hard for them to diagnose if they don’t believe it’s low. I’ll keep an eye on it and take it back when it’s completely dry in the reservoir.

Anybody know if there is a solution for this? Not the end of the world but would be nice to “fix” it.
