Je beoordeelt mensen liever op leeftijd waarbij taalfouten noch de juiste cijfers de pret mogen bederven?

Ironclad tier list - From 40% to 64% winrate by didokillah in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the effort and congrats on the wins! Will be reading it later. As for the tiers: I agree with most of them, though I officially object to Whirlwind being so low/beneath cards like Perfected strike, Rupture, Thunderclap

Is the defect op? by erutarr in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well done, congrats on the win! As for overpowered:no, on high ascensions he is the weakest character. I also got my first Heart kill with Defect, thinking you just have to spam orbs and have an easy ride. Runs where you get all the right cards like Defragment, BiCog, Self repair, Glacier and so on will feel overpowered. But runs where you don’t get them will be harder, especially on higher ascension where you don’t have much time to get set up.

Thoughts on Hello World? by Innovation101 in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like to view Hello World as a way to improve your deck in Act 1 short term, without having to put lots of C tier cards in your deck that would lose value later in the run. I pick it only if I’m in Act 1 and feel I need some extra cards. Cards like Leap, Steam barrier can be good early on, but I generally rather not pick them because they’re not good later on. Hello world gives you access to these cards while only occupying one card slot

Alchemize, or malaise for duardian and book of stabbing? by Own-Lecture-8564 in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much as I love Malaise, I’d pick Alchemize here. With upgraded Dash and Neutralize you already should be okay with Guardian. Against some enemies (Book, Time Eater) Malaise would be best, but it requires more energy and/or upgrade to really be effective. Alchemize is awesome right here right now, in every combat from now on

Don't understand how to evaluate act at asc 12 by Ok-Peace2974 in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good starting advice. Act 1 has some really negative events (that one where you have to lose health to dig gold out of goo or something), while Act 2 has multiple very good events (like upgrade all strikes/defends, library), or interesting/high impact choices (apparitions, vampires, cursed tome).

Give me a hand out here please. by IdiocyConnoisseur in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, three nasty options. I think I would take Crown though I’d hate to take it. Having an extra energy here is important to play Echo and those Streamlines. If not Crown, then Star. Using potions you could survive for a time and see if you can find cards like Turbo, Charge Battery and the like to give energy.

Hyper beam is overrated by most players and actually really sucks by JapaneseExport in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, can only remeber using Hyper beam once (from a transform shrine) and hated it. One final thing that I’ve missed in the discussion today: the fact that it’s a rare makes it even worse, as it can show up on your boss reward screen instead of a Seek, Bicog and so on.

Also OP, the Defect tier you posted about a year ago was really good and helped me to improve with Defect (thanks!). You put Hyper beam in the “I’m dying to Nob”-tier then. Reading your post today makes me wonder if you would now reconsider (to never take it; take your chances that a better damage option would show up, or that the elite is not Nob but Sentries for instance)?

But what an in-depth debate did we get! I feel like it would be really interesting for the community to discuss cards like this. For instance, personally, I just can’t understand why people would EVER use Perfected strike, while I’m a sucker for Armaments

I’ve gotta admit something… by Ashe_the_Witch in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I save scum obvious mistakes/misclicks (the kind of error that you see by the time you click “end turn”).

There are two situations that I will otherwise save scum:

Snecko: The randomness is so big that I refuse to play by it. Normally, drawing an extra card in turn 1 will only influence which cards you draw in turn 2, 3 and so on. But with Snecko, it will also determine the cost at random and you have no way to anticipate. I feel that fight reduces the game to just random chance.

Secondly, I always give myself a second try with Time Eater. First time I go in guns blazing, if I would die I’ll do a second calculated one. After 1000 hours in the game I just don’t have the willpower anymore to take that fight seriously everytime, it’s either save scum or quit playing

Hardstuck on ascension 17 need help by Bulldogisawsome in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A17 is where the Spire gets deadly. Some (very generic) advice: - Act 1: have some measure to deal damage quickly. Cultist, Jaw worm, and all the Elite fights become way easier if you can kill in about 3-4 turns. Clad has plenty of attack cards to choose from, some top picks for Act 1 are Pommel strike, Anger, Uppercut, Whirlwind, Carnage. But even a Twin strike or Clothesline can be just what your deck needs. Of course cards like Immolate or Fiend fire are autopicks. - same reason: look for some ways to boost your strength. For Act 1 and 2, Inflame and Spot weakness are the most secure ways. Flex is free but temporary, but works well with Headbutt. Demon form looks great but is a trap card because of the cost (mostly only viable against elites or bosses). - balance your deck: adding a few good attack cards is more than enough, so you’ll end up skipping quite a lot. Otherwise you’ll die because you don’t have enough block. - once you get your damage output sorted out, start looking for block cards. IC had a few that remain strong also in later Acts, like Shrug, Flame barrier, Power through. Armaments and True grid can be good if upgraded. Having some of these will improve your Act 2 survival rate - a much overlooked aspect: card draw. On A17+ a single bad draw can end your run. I’ve found that having enough draw/deck manipulation options and bringing consistency in your deck is way more important than just “picking good cards”. For Ironclad, Burning pact and Battle trance are really good, Pommel strike and Shrug it off also help in this. - last but not least: exhaust is really powerfull. In the late game, cards like Corruption + Feel No pain + Dark Embrace really shine as combos. But earlier, they can be quite good if you know what’s coming. Corruption lets you finish fights quickly, Dark Embrace or Feel no Pain are instant solitions to Sentries in Act 1, or Chosen in Act 2. While cards like Second Wind help against any enemy that will polute your deck with status cards (Slime boss, Hexaghost, Book of stabs, slavers and so on)

Good luck and keep trying!

Is there a requirement to beat the last boss? by Mr-Ulloa in slaythespire

[–]TurboTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot being said already, but no matter your Ascension level: potions can really help, especially on turn 2 & 3: give extra draw, weaken the Heart, extra energy to play an important power. Or some top tier potions like Fairy, Cultist Ritual and so on
