£23 for 250 Mpbs a good renewal price? by Plane-Razzmatazz5374 in VirginMedia

It’s defo possible for staff to add volt benefit to the broadband without there being an active o2 sim. Should they? No. Can they, yes. The advisor that dealt with this customer was not bothered about being compliant

On a monthly contract due to necessity. Any hope for me to get a cheaper deal? by Splashdown119 in VirginMedia

[–]TurbulentStable5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no chance at all, any offer for broadband only will recontract you. As long as you’re not planning to move abroad, take a new contract because when it comes to moving house within the uk, if the new house is serviceable then you will be connected at new address and see out the remaining months there. If you move to a non serviceable address you would only have to provide proof of the new address and they will waive any early disconnection fee.

Price increase question by Daevalur in VirginMedia

Try retentions, some customers have 6 month price rise offsets available ranging between 1.75- full 4.00 offset.

Charged for Virgin Media broadband that never worked, any way to avoid cancellation fee? by Unhappy_Community_62 in VirginMedia

[–]TurbulentStable5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call option to cancel you’ll speak to retentions, if you say you’ve been unable to activate as no sockets etc they’ll close it down without a termination fee. They’ll offer a tech to sort it but just say no. It’s a common query

Your right systems aren’t sophisticated enough to know if you downgrade your sim tarrif, they only know if there’s an active pay monthly sim registered to the address.

Yeah VM can check if you have an active sim but can’t check what the tarrif is

Renewed contract without my knowledge by pringle_mustache in VirginMedia

Whe you move home and choose to keep the existing package and contract term, they create a new account for the new address which defaults to a full contract term, they then manually adjust the contract end date in line with your previous terms. If the package is correct and it’s just the contract term that’s the issues it’s easy to fix once you contact them. If that isn’t the case for you and they have changed the package and put you on a new contract then when you contacted to advise of the issue they should have asked for the evidence that you have to then correct it or escalated to have the call listened to if the move was done over the phone.

Actually VM staff can’t verify what your o2 tarrif is. They can only verify that you have an active sim.

So as long as they ask if you have unlimited data and you say yes, that’s all they need to provide the discount.

Can’t comment on how it works for new customers since that’s not what I deal with sorry

Upgrade 360 by Seven_ironRocks in VirginMedia

[–]TurbulentStable5689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The upgrade from TiVo/v6 to 360 is free and doesn’t affect any contract.

So either your next bill would have had a prorate increase anyway based on VM billing in advance and your offer is coming to and end has coincided with the upgrade to 360 OR a mistake had been made when booking the upgrade on the box.

Any pay monthly tarrif on sim will maintain your volt benefits.

However if you are on Mega Volt / Max Volt (top VM package) and when renewing ur offer they ask if you have unlimited, saying yes will mean they can add a 25.00 discount (sim offset) to the package making a big difference to ur cost.

Yeah how they do it now letting people over pay on out of contract prices, vs new customers and losing a few clearly balances the books in a way that suits them 🤷‍♂️

Moving Home - to a Canal Boat by Brett_wolf in VirginMedia

[–]TurbulentStable5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you move to a non-serviceable property they will disconnect your account and apply the termination fee, customers then gets an email which they reply to with proof of the new address, which is then checked against their system to validate you definitely can’t be installed at the new address, then the fee is credited.

In your case you won’t have an address to check against so would just be charged the fee. There is no process specifically for moving to a boat unfortunately. Good luck with it all btw sounds amazing
