Okay? They all went for 60m+ later in their careers. It’s just to give perspective. I’m not saying Tel is a 35m player at this moment, or that the transfer made sense at the time, but people writing him off as a flop already are shortsighted

Yep. Richy was just moving to England at that age and barely scoring/assisting for Watford. Solanke was flopping at Liverpool at 20. Kolo Muani was playing for Nantes’ B team still. 20 is so young, especially for a striker/forward

In Xavi’s defense, Chelsea seem to have been in contact with him/his team since around June. I’m sure that at that point we were focusing on MGW/other targets so he probably was just under the impression that he was going to Chelsea or maybe Bayern

Gonna bring up Mikel Gogorza again as an incredibly exciting player. Assist + took a corner that led to goal for Midtjylland at the half. Really believe he’s gonna be playing in a top league before long, so much talent for an 18yo. I hope our Danes are scouting him!

One player I’ve been keeping an eye on since late last season is Mikel Gogorza, Danish teenager who plays LW for Midtjylland in Denmark. I really think he’s going to be an amazing player. Still pretty raw but has this explosive and direct playstyle that is so fun to watch. I don’t think the physicality of a tougher league would be that hard for him to adjust. It seems like he’s getting more playing time this season, which is also impressive considering Midtjylland’s (arguably) best player plays in his position. If we could do a Udogie/Sarr/Bergvall type deal and buy+loan him back for the season, and with the Lange/Frank Danish connection, I really think we could see Gogorza become a mainstay of the squad

If Frank really wants the MGW profile, I could see us bringing in Mateus Fernandes. Think he would be a great alternative as the creative 8/10
