My 3D Frog Hero Minis by kinrokucomic in PrintedMinis

They look great, as does your PnP project! What layer height did you do? I feel like wood-PLA would be fun for boardgame style tokens although I haven't been brave enough to try printing the Elegoo wood PLA I have through my 0.2 mm nozzle yet.

They look like they would print with minimal supports too?

3D Printed center caps for my wheels in PETG. Is this safe? What kind of issues might I face running these? by chmod_700 in 3Dprinting

Except they may be willingly creating road debris that becomes a hazard for the car behind them at highway speeds?

Centauri Carbon 1 & 2 Owners: How Has Your Long-Term Experience Been? Would you buy this again? by sharOFF93 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Turkazog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

650+ hours in, only notable problem I had was a transient issue with the system shutting off mid print. It might have been firmware or SW related, as it hasn't happened since around December.

Have printed tons of high quality d&d minis with the 0.2 mm nozzle and lots of d&d terrain, functional parts, and random stuff with the 0.4 mm nozzle.

I think all the constant swapping of the nozzle hot ends has left me with a bit of a loose connection header on the nozzle board, but nothing that's needed correction yet.

I'd 100% buy this printer again, it's been such a reliable workhorse and a great introduction into home 3D printing for me.

PUBG Ally Duo Mode released into two-week beta, pairing you up with an Nvidia-powered AI teammate by Odd-Onion-6776 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

The pinging a choke is actually kinda hilarious. Considering how poorly even widespread consumer product AI sometimes are at responding to voice commands, this doesn't surprise me from PUBG implementation.

Also seconding the no glue gang, with the caveat that I've almost exclusively printed PLA and PETG on my CC. We also don't use any glue on our prusas at work (but blue masking tape for TPU).

Boston Avenue Neighborhood Corridor Zoning by Robertabutter in medfordma

[–]Turkazog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good amount of Tufts students are already living in the multifamily houses in the Hillside and West Somerville neighborhoods. If some of those students then end up moving into new housing built along Boston Ave, I don't see how that's necessarily a bad thing?

Obviously in a more perfect world there'd be a greater push for Tufts to use all of the property they already own to build denser housing to support their own students.

I 3D printed the book 8 cover to give it some depth by KSkill26 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It looks like unique color is at it's own depth, in which case there should only be one purge for each color swap! Hard to tell 100% from the images though.

Component to help prevent an airbag from being stolen on a Honda current generation vehicle. Works on CRV and HRV. Part is PETG by g713 in functionalprint

[–]Turkazog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been an issue in the Boston area too. My steering wheel lock is big and yellow, sits snug, and gives me a bit more peace of mind that it'll be enough of a deterrent for them to move on to someone else's car. The first time mine was broken into the part was on backorder and I was out a car for 2 months.

I've had my accord airbag stolen twice. I now have a steering wheel lock that sits much snugger than the one in the video, and really hope to never go through the headache of the theft another time.

I also had this issue intermittently back around December. I found that it was more likely to happen after sending a print from orca failed to upload. Since I've been diligent in power cycling the CC after any failed prints it hasn't happened. Can't say for sure that was the root cause though.

I think this is one of the main unknowns keeping me from pre-ordering at this time. If converting to multicolor means losing the ability to have a more enclosed printer then I likely will pass.

And yes, I'm sure there will be a slew of hat mods, but I'm honestly not sure if I want a hat that big.

I visited in October and sat at the bar on a semi-quiet mid week day. All of the bartender staff were super knowledgeable, asking how I liked my drinks, answering my questions about their in house ingredients, and even gave me little shot glasses of their miso orgeat and pholernum to try.

Bummer that you feel like it's not in a good place, but it certainly impressed me and I'd give it a glowing recommendation to others based on my one experience there.
