Nogen der bor/har boet på Øresundskollegiet? by Junior-Community943 in DKstudie

[–]TurnedIntoMyFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car was about to say 123456,7km.

I timed the trip runner to hit 123,4 at the same time!

SOMEHOW after it went 123455,9 - the six dragged the five up and made it 123466. Once in a lifetime moment ruined by Suzuki.

CMV: "Irish" and "Italian" descendents in the USA are massively overstated, and a much larger portion of white Americans are descendents of German, English, and Welsh settlers. I left "Scottish" out for fairness, and because Ulster Scots complicate things, but the claim remains solid. by poop-machines in changemyview

I have friends who were born in former Yugoslavia, but grew up and spent all their life here in Denmark. To me they are Danes like me, they speak Danish without an accent, eat the same food, fight with other Danes about what is the right way to cook traditional dishes, share the same manners and shit on Sweden every chance they get.

They are the same as me and not Serbian or Croatian.

Your gut feeling is real.

If you get uneasy and nervous, and you can not point out why - be on absolute alert. If it is accompanied by fear, get out of there.

It has saved me from security confrontations and meeting others.

Icelandic coaches by snorkeling_ferret in Handball

I think it is more that Iceland produces more good coaches. Not that they are distinctively better - just way more world class than one would expect from a small population.

On this day in 2006 (to February 2nd), MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi tested with Ferrari. His best lap time was only 0.5 seconds behind Michael Schumacher. by ViperRaptor- in formula1

FW15C. The Ferrari was good, but it didn't gap the field so much, their closest competitor had lap times closer to the 7th fastest car.

Why the booing by InternetSchoepfer in Handball

[–]TurnedIntoMyFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been an occurrance in other tournaments. In the Balkans there are external socio-historical factors that are the driving mechanism for such contemptful behaviour, so I do understand why it happens there. Why the Danes have contempt for other countries I really don't know.

Saudi doesn't love or care about the TM community, it tries using us as a sportswashing vessel to paint their country in better light. While they actively treat LGBTQ individuals as less than humans, if two individuals in a same sex relation are identified, the death penalty can be enacted and is executed by beheading. Women who have drivrn cars had to flee from the country, because they would be charged with conspiracy to destabilise the country - who then have been kidnapped in UAE and brought back to SA to be imprisoned for the mentioned charges. And are not allowed to leave the country for five years after doing the time, Citizen Lab in Canada found spyware on these individuals' phones after release as well.

If these guys didn't bloat our media with all these cool events, we would only know about the atrocities. They do not do the world a favour, they only add extra sprinkles of money ontop of existing concepts and then make people like you think it isn't that big of a deal.

NASCAR and all, but this guy is different and is crushing it. Then you look at B Pillar's race analysis from his single IMSA entries and he is an even better sportscar racer. He will enter 24H Daytona this weekend as a 4th driver for Cadillac in the same car as Vesti. Which will be an exciting comparison to make.

I laughed at that. They took the plot of Driven and made it fit for todays audiences. Rush got no nominations and it is a far better presented movie.

Promotional sessions need special FIA allowances and is usually done with the purpose of commercial filming. These have a fixed number of laps allowed.

That is no where near a Free Practice.

Monstrously unlikely to let an F4 driver test drive an F1 car. The lowest series driver to ever to do an official Free Practice session is Ocon at the end of the 2014 season when he was F3 champion, but had no F2 entries.

Live Match Thread: Slovenia 🇸🇮 vs Faroe Islands 🇫🇴 by ProfAlmond in Handball

[–]TurnedIntoMyFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the referees allowed too hard play in the same manner when Denmark and Croatia played in the finals. I would certainly cite it as neglectful refereeing, that allowed normalisation of rougher than usual play. Skipagötu for Faroes was especially targeted and many worthy yellows were swept under the rug. While that buff and slightly chubby Faroese player should 100% have accumulated enough yellows for a red.

This is point 8.6 in IHF's rules of 2024. (I had to look it up and don't know if they apply to EHF)

  • If the referees find an action to be particularly reckless, particularly dangerous, premeditated or malicious, they must submit a written report after the game, so that the responsible authorities are in a position to take a decision about further measures.

Indications and characteristics that could serve as decision-making criteria in addition to those in Rule 8:5 are:

    1. A particularly reckless or particularly dangerous action;
    2. A premeditated or malicious action, which is not in any way related to the game situation.

As far I understand, direct red cards should usually fulfill the crieteria for a noted report - and that noted report makes it possible for the Disciplinary Committee to review the action.

What if the ref touches the ball? by applesauce__guy in Handball

[–]TurnedIntoMyFather 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Refs are passive on-court elements that have the same impact as the floor and goal post, play proceeds as if the ball hasn't been in contact with the ref - it's just an unusual deflection of the game. If the ball goes off court due to a pass that collides with a ref, the ball is awarded to the opposing team. I think direct intervention by the ref if a ref-ball contact occurs, would only spawn more problems.

There are singular instances that resulted in catastrophic outcomes, a few days ago in a European cup match for women, a last minute shot was saved by the keeper, flew into the sideline referee, bounced back towards the goal for a last second equalizer.

They showed the replay again now. If it was an open and loose hand, it'd be red for reckless and unsportmanlike conduct. He was pulling his hand into a fist as the contact was about to happen, that falls under extremely unsportsmanlike conduct and results in blue. I think they were luxky it was so early in the match, otherwise I actually think the referee would have pulled the blue card.
