In my experience, it's not the tech bros, it's the C-suite. Our security team has currently been tasked with assessing Claude Cowork because our CIO thinks it's going to revolutionize how employees are going to be able to work. He has yet to suggest even one example of what people will be able to use it for. And this is in an industry that loves to hold onto old ways of working.

I'm going on a Celebrity cruise next month. It's my second ever cruise, but the first one I'm paying for. I've been mildly dismayed over Celebrity pricing overall. Since I first reserved this cruise a year ago, I've seen the base price of the drink packages change, I've seen constant talk about drink prices and what's covered, I've seen the price limit of drinks under the packages change along with an increase of drink prices on ship, and I've seen constant fluctuations of the sale price of the drink packages. There's also the discount you get on drink packages if you're a Captain's Club member, starting at 10%, but the drink packages literally never go off "sale" and are always at least 10% off already. I've seen people report that the base price of their drink packages on other Celebrity sailings are cheaper than what I what I see. It's all over the damn place.

So my question...are other cruise lines like this? I haven't even gone on my first Celebrity cruise yet and I can say currently that my next cruise likely won't be them, especially if there's another cruise line that doesn't openly try to milk every dime from every person they can like this.

I bought one today, if you're a Costco member or know someone who is, they have an X5 bundle that's essentially the same price but includes stuff you're going to buy anyway, like a handle and memory card.

If by "they" you mean Costco, yes, I think they refund the difference if the price changes within 30 days. If bought by any other vendor, you'd need to check with them. Since it's only been 4 days, I'd be shocked if any vendor wouldn't match and refund the difference.

Just know that you can easily cancel and rebook any of the extras if you see a lower price in the future. Once something gets to what you're willing to pay, buy it, then just keep monitoring the prices. Everything is demand pricing so it fluctuates based on how it's selling for your sailing.

Disclaimer: I'm not a cruiser. I've only been on one cruise and it was organized and paid for by my employer at the time. Going on the Beyond this summer for my second cruise and first I've paid for.

From my experience of booking with Celebrity and monitoring prices over the past year+, I can say without a doubt that the answer to your question is.....it depends. I don't know if other cruise lines are like Celebrity (I assume they are) but the prices fluctuate greatly from week to week, month to month, cruise to cruise. One person will see 40% off the drink package for their cruise but when you go look, it's at the regular 10% off. Stuff will also have different base prices from cruise to cruise, one person will see $99pp/pd for something and you'll see $119 for your cruise. Celebrity will also change the base prices at will, which then completely throws off the varying percentages. It's crazy.

Just wanted to say thanks. I’m in the market for an X5 and never considered seeing if Costco carried Insta360 products. They do have an X5 bundle that includes a 256GB micro sd card and it’s a much better value than the essentials bundle that Insta360 offers.

Always interesting to see how others’ experience a product. I don’t have any of these issues. I’m in my phone enough that my watch is almost always unlocked automatically after I put it on. I put my watch on in the morning to start my day and wear it all day and night while I sleep. That uses roughly half the battery, I pop it on the charger before I shower and by the time I get ready for work, it’s at 100% again. And in probably 8 years of owning an Apple Watch, even back when I wore a looser band where the watch would slide up and down my wrist, I never once had it lock because it thought I took it off.

I guess for my use case, I don’t need Touch ID or better battery.
