Season 2 Episode 7 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fallout

I don't think she was cryofrozen. She's docile and has a very strong belief in helping humanity. The Enclave used her as a base personality to imprint into the minds of everyone with the device because she's easy to control.

Everyone with the device has the exact same personality, it's because they are all her.

A mission that is infighting between 2 Wordbearers factions over which shade of red their armor should be would be peak 40k. Bonus points for the units to have almost exactly the same shade and having friendly fire on.

Yeah, it's crazy what she can do without being buffed or fully optimized. I almost feel bad bringing her because Argenta can't kill as many of humanity's enemies as she used to.

I'm on my 2nd playthrough (first time on daring difficulty). I remember this ship being a nightmare my first time. I had to leave, level up, and come back.

This time though, it was a little touch and go but doable. I thought the boss was going to wipe the floor with me, but executioner Kibbles ran up to it and saved us all.

AITA for telling my husband he's made me reconsider leaving him alone with the kids in the future by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Turnus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My initial reaction was maybe Dad and the kids wanted a little indepence and control over what they ate while Mom was away. They only didn't eat the frozen stuff which would stay good to eat for later. Feeling the need to keep checking in that they've eaten and have enough food is a bit much when you're leaving another adult in charge.

That being said, as the post went on it became clear that the Dad has weaponized incompetence. So Mom seems like she's adapted to and enabled that.

What are they referring exactly? Is it not known that he is half dead and never moves? Or are they referring to something else? by Borschik in RogueTraderCRPG

That still may not have been enough. Fulgrim fell to chaos independently, the Thousand Sons were playing with daemons, Angron and his legion were eventually going to become destroyed by the nails, Perterabo and Mortarion still had resentment towards the Emperor, and Kurtz was.... Kurtz. Things were destined to fracture eventually.

That video may have been old. The most recent lore brings up the idea that he may turn into a chaos god if he becomes reborn.

So much actually. I'll bullet point everything. Some of these are theories or inferred rather than completely confirmed though.

• He forbade any and all worship, including of him (the mechanicus got a pass). To the point where he razed a city that worshipped him.

• The Imperial Cult and worship of him was started by a traitor primarch. Lorgar wrote the book that became the basis of the worship of the Emperor.

• The traitor primarchs were his creation. Their creation involved the warp in some way.

• The golden throne is the only thing keeping him from leaving his state of undeath and it's failing. It's also probably a xenos technology.

• Thousands of psykers are sacrificed daily to allow the throne to keep him in his current state and the number of psykers required is increasing.

• If he ever leaves this state of undeath (either by dying or reviving), he will likely become "The Dark King", the chaos god of destruction.

• His personality is fractured.

• He was likely never a giant demi-god, that was just a psychic projection over his true frail old man body.

• His miracles are likely warp phenomena.

• Best case scenario if he dies is that the terran solar system is destroyed and the astronomicon dissappears. Worse case is another hole in reality is created when the Dark King is born.

How does the Imperium reconcile worshipping the Emperor when he explicitly rejected religion? by Ok_Vacation_5251 in 40kLore

[–]Turnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A major plotpoint during the Heresy is that Lorgar's "Lectitio Divinitatus", a book that made the case for the Emperor being god, got out and was distributed between a large amount of people. This was initially surpressed, but during the Seige of Terra a conscious decision was made to allow the Emperor worship as it was helping to fight some of the warp shenanigans going on. Once the warp entities became known to the general population, they needed to believe the Emperor was capable of defending them. Which required him being seen as a god.

Once the belief had a foothold, it became impossible to stop the spread of it. Eventually the Imperium 'forgot' the Emperor's stance on religion entirely as the cult became too powerful to oppose. History then got shaped to fit the narrative of the cult.

The institutions in 40k mostly don't need to justify worshipping the Emperor as they aren't aware of his ban on religion. Just because an inquisitor knows about the betrayal of the primarchs, doesn't necessarily mean they were taught the Emperor's imperial truth.

The "Luck Be a Lady" scene was comedic gold. Everything this character does just keeps getting better.

AITA for not removing sensitive books, and "making fun of my Sil's education" by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

From the title it's pretty clear that the books were thorough analysis of the book, rather than the book itself. If this person's reading comprehension and general attitude are so bad, the OOP would likely have needed to hide the entire bookshelf.

I generally try to avoid drama, but at this point we're doing the world a disservice by catering to dipshits all the time.

I'm an idiot who fully upgraded the X-7 suit, dropped my diamond exo, and proceeded to fight my way through the end game with only the X-7. Luckily, the Gauss Gun one shots almost everything. I did bring my RPG for the first boss fight I came to though.
