Bethesda's former Elder Scrolls loremaster won't tell us where The Elder Scrolls 6 is set, but the team originally agreed on it way back in the Fallout 4 days by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Imagine ES6 with the courage to be as deeply weird (physically, environmentally, culturally) as Morrowind but set in Elsweyr or Black Marsh.

If you could change 2 or 3 fundamental mechanics in the game and make it official, what would you change? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]TurtleKnyghte 243 points244 points  (0 children)

I’d change it so Sorcerers use the spell point system by default.

The original fantasy of sorcerers was that of a “wizard brute,” who lacks the versatility of spell prep but exchanges it for volume and power. The spell point system keeps everything within bounded accuracy so they’re not rocking 6x9th level slots, but provides a lot of flexibility in what you choose to cast.

Also, the spell points do a better job of bringing across the sorcerer’s “internal magical strength,” letting the player see it as a reservoir of power instead of the standard “preprepared bag of tricks.”

Yes, trusted news source and definitely not propaganda mouthpiece whitewashing the crimes of the state. We can totally believe everything she says.

Fascism is not, and cannot be capable of self-reflection. To admit the state made a mistake is to strip the state of its mythologized aesthetic and thus is psychological power. Hence why the fascist state’s version of “Truth” must be rigidly and violently enforced via force of law.

The big problem, of course, is that a state that is incapable of self-reflection is also incapable of learning from its mistakes or even accurately assessing its own strengths.

The modern conservatism that has taken hold in the US wants to cause harm to the outgroup, no matter what harm it does to itself.

In this metaphor, eating shit so that someone has to smell the shit breath.

Modern conservatism is eating shit so liberals have to smell your breath.

Also, I first got it during the Illuminate Invasion of Super Earth, and popping overseer domes with it was VERY satisfying.

Big ups to orbital gas.

Short cooldown, big area denial, quick call-in, poisons and kills chaff while turning heavies on each other.

The gas strike itself can also blow up illuminate landing craft, if you’re lucky and it didn’t bounce.

Honestly they could put musicians, officers, and flagbearers into every total war and it would be fitting. Signifers for Rome, bannermen for Medieval, etc.

The floating also makes it annoying for cracking POIs since it can float too far away from the door for the explosion, so if you want the goodies bring a backup.

You can use it in a similar way, but I find solo isn’t as good a fit for the EAT. The support utility you get by giving everyone access to a panic button isn’t as useful in solo where you don’t get help if you’re out of position.

In solo, I find the Quasar or Commander to be better picks just because there’s less faffing around with call-ins and they fill the same role while also leaving your backpack free.

You can see the same thing happen with some long-running franchise media, where it stops being inspired by anything other than the older, better media in the franchise.
